View obscured by scaffolding which made keeping window open unwise overnight, from a security issue. A fan would be good in hotter weather.Only other issue was with the bath/shower. Huge freestanding bath in room with overhead rain shower, however no handrails , so for a couple in their seventies, not very safe. Huge comfortable bed. Hot water, lovely toiletries and very generous welcome tea tray. Free WiFi appreciated.Breakfast cooked to order and was delicious. We would stay again as a daughter lives locally, but would be sure to book a room with an en-suite.

Lack of a handrail On bath/ shower. We stayed on a Sunday, so did not get to enjoy the bar/ restaurant.

Clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable! we stayed in the suite and it was lovely, the bathroom was amazing! we actually extended for one more night. Claire the manager who was working during our stay (all over Christmas!) was not only lovely and great fun, she undoubtedly works so hard to make sure everyone’s stay is as best as it can be. She is possibly one of the highlights of our stay and we felt so welcome and looked after. I will recommend the Linden to anyone travelling through or around Stansted and will certainly be back myself!

Very nicely decorated room with hot water kettle, coffee/tea, and very nice toiletries. Breakfast menu options, especially for vegetarians. Very close to airport, but still far enough to get a bit of local charm between flights.

Although breakfast should be one of the highlights of staying here, there was a group meeting of like 25 people that I and the wait staff had to walk through to be seated, and even then it felt like I was seated in the meeting, meaning I basically had to eat in complete silence. I also couldn't really make special requests for items like sauces, because it meant an additional awkward walk through. I'm not sure if this is the standard practice, but it felt very odd to me and I hope isn't the routine, and if it is that in the future a different set up will occur.

The bed was really comfortable and the open bathroom luxurious. The staff were great.

Normally I just have to lie on my good ear to block out most noise but the road noise still got through, I was at the front of the property though so maybe it’s quieter at the back. Also unexpectedly the kitchen was closed on a Monday evening, I’d read it was closed on Monday and Tuesday lunchtime, but the staff recommended a great place a short walk away.

Beautiful room and reception. Super chic and big bedroom. Soft comfy bed and fluffy towels. Felt like a luxury stay which was unexpected as it was booked just to be room for a night while attending wedding in local area. All staff were lovely. Would defs stay again if in area or getting early flight from stansted.

It was quite warm in room and so windows needed to be open for cool air. The shower had separate taps for hot and cold and hot water ran very hot! Not negative points if you like things toasty!

Mmm, hard to say. Because everything comes to mind. It has its own bar too which is great for an evening beer. There's also a quick un to be had in the king's arms if you're walking from the train station as I did. So easy to get to Stansted and to mountfitchet and to the Linden. This place has it all.

The room design. An old building, full of character. My room was spacious and divided between a sleeping area and a bathing area. In between there was a fine old brick chimney. Not a fireplace, just this super chimney that doubled as a kind of room divider. The wash-hand basin was against the chimney (on the bathroom side). Great interior design

The room was very spacious and very bright. The bed super comfy which came in handy as I attended a wedding during my stay and need the good sleep after dancing through the night. Everything was clean and neat, nothing really to complain about.

The only thing I would have wished for would be more vegan options on the breakfast menu. Nothing to complain otherwise :)

We stayed at The Linden for one night on the the way to Standsted Airport. Our room was newly refurbished. We enjoed the bar in the courtyard. The dinner was very good. The room was a little noisy because the street is nearby. Getting there is a little complicated because the hotel is right at a very busy crossing. We were lucky to find a parking space at the public parking lot nearby.

The room was very nice. 4 poster bed, big and very comfortable. Breakfast is also great, tasty and has few good options including 'english breakfast' and 'earl grey tea' which I love. Quiet room. The staff was very helpful with accommodating my needs.

I cannot think of anything I particularly disliked! I'd say it's a very nice hotel. Just need to walk from the train station for a bit longer than I thought!
