The location in an historical building sets the mood and is quite strategic for both walking into town for a meal, as well as to visiting the old town and Stirling Castle. Whilst grateful for what may have been an 'upgrade' to a superior and larger room (with a huge bathroom), unfortunately this room could easily do with some updates and overall set-up. No meals taken.

Additional paying for parking within the own hotel private grounds should have been waived for hotel guests.

stunning building, really stylish with a cool art deco style designed bar and restaurant

the room was quite tired compared to the rest of the hotel. it was dark (no main light just lamps) and we couldn’t open the curtains in the morning as there were no nets up at the windows and our room was right on the car park.

The hotel was very pleasant, the Bar area was very amenable and the restaurant equally so, comfortable seating and pleasant ambience. Parking was convenient and town was only 5 mins away. The restaurant had a limited menu but cooked and served very well.

The room was compact, seems typical at this price point, limited space for suitcase or space to which you can unpack the suitcase. I purchased an early check in, disappointed to find that moved the time from 15:00 to 13:00, I had expected around 11:00 as I was paying for it. If the hotel had made this visible I would have probably not bothered. Not sufficient bad points for me to not recommend the hotel, I do recommend it particularly for a solo traveller, ambience good, food great.

Our breakfast was lovely both mornings. We were there for our daughter's wedding and the staff were fantastic from dining room to front of house they couldn't do enough for us the head housekeeper Esther was amazing, she had an iron replaced in our room so I could refresh my outfit and Hector the operation manager was lovely making sure everyone was looked after and that everything run smoothly on the day although he cannot be held responsible for hangovers the next day.lol . Anyone getting married in the near future I would definitely recommend this venue 💯

I can't think of anything everything was perfect

we loved the staff, lovely hotel with clean rooms, great food both for dinner and generous breakfast options. the restaurant was cosy, well decorated and the cocktails in the bar delicious.

only downside was the room was very cold when we arrived, all windows open and the bathroom was very cold the whole time we were there. we also had a room close to anothe guest who was incredibly antisocial and keep us awake most of the sat night throwing around luggage, trying our door, drunken falling over. I believe it was 133 room. it really tarnished our 2nd night stay as the first was lovely and quiet. no fault with the hotel or the team though, we were well looked after. special mention of the lovely blonde girl serving breakfast Sunday and who also served us Friday. she was so welcoming, lovely manner and a credit to the hotel

Central location. Hotel was lovely in itself, but like most places the staff can make or break your experience. Well, you will not be disappointed here as the staff were all amazing and delightful and always went out of their way to accommodate any requests Nothing was a bother ( and if it was, you would never ever know it!) . The hotel room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. There was everything you needed for your comfort : Tea/ coffee etc, hair dryer, iron and board and a room fan if you needed it. The only thing I would have preferred is that there was a mini fridge, but this was a minor detail, and certainly did not impact on our stay or experience. The breakfast choices were good and reasonably priced and we also had an evening meal on one of our nights. Food was delicious and presentation was also lovely. Would 100% recommend and come back again if ever in Stirling. Our car parking fees were waved because they had been introduced after we booked, so not sure how much additional cost this would now be.

Would have liked a mini fridge, not necessarily stocked as I drink a lot of fresh juices ( don't drink tea/ coffee) and prefer these cold. This is a minor point only.

Location of the hotel is perfect in Stirling. A beautiful hotel that has been really well renovated and decorated. Fabulous deep bath, clean rooms, comfy bed and soft towels! Nothing was too much trouble

Would expect that a Scottish breakfast had haggis on it, or at least able to swap - even though it was on the vegetarian option this was possible. We had a kingsize room/ bed but it was quite tight - I guess you get a bigger room in a deluxe but it felt cramped when you have all your luggage in for a week. The bar area, although nicely decorated, feels really "corporate" and impersonal which isn't the feel of the rest of the hotel. Having a TV fireplace seemed a little strange?

Good location. Good sized room with comfortable big bed and big bathroom. Lovely and warm too. Only one chair though. We would have appreciated a second as the room was plenty big enough for two or alternatively a small settee at foot of bed.

Vegetarian Breakfast very disappointing. Said to be cooked to order but was barely warm. Tasted like it had been kept warm for some time, avocado black, spinach cold and watery, scone greasy and fried to a crisp. Rest of offer was fairly limited too

the room was very comfortable. the staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful, they are clearly trained to a very high standard. the bar/ lounge was well appointed.

parking was expensive. the kitchen let the establishment down. the dinner menu was quite restrictive and a significant number of the listed items were unavailable at 7pm. even vanilla ice cream was unavailable. the breakfast menue again bore little resemblance to the available items.

The location was perfect for what we wanted to see (Stirling Castle and surrounding area). It was within walking distance of all the "tourist" shops and many historic sites. It was also a great value for the location. I looked at a couple of other hotels in the immediate area and they were more expensive. A couple of other small things I liked were the car park right behind the hotel (for guests only), the breakfast, and the spacious bathroom with the amazing towel warmer. The staff were all friendly and helpful.

While our room was excellent, it was on the 2nd floor and the elevator only went up to the 1st floor. I'm not sure if there was a second elevator we were supposed to find. We were able to get our suitcases up 1 flight of stairs so it wasn't an issue for us, but if you are dealing with a lot of luggage or heavy stuff I'd take that into account.
