Was a very restful stay in a beautiful area with the Inn right next door. The most glorious food, best steak I've had cooked to perfection and I've eaten in one of the best steak houses in St Louis USA and this was better, all food was wonderful at reasonable prices.Very helpful owner Laura and her lovely staff,my room was lovely, had all I needed comfortable and very quiet for a peaceful night's sleep. Thank you so much for looking after me and all your kind help and understanding with my health conditions, very much appreciated. So glad I found this amazing place and I will be returning, many thanks 👍🙂🙂

I'm quite confident there is nothing I didn't like at the Anchor Inn.food, wifi, room, staff, local ale all wonderful and a beautiful old Inn fabulous.

Staff were helpful and accommodating and the location, while remote, is peaceful and the adjoining country pub had a good atmosphere. A simple breakfast is provided in the room on request and there is ample parking.

The room was spacious but not the cleanest. My towels had a lot of red marks (and the sheets to a lesser extent) and there was a fair bit of dust in the bedroom. The bed was OK but not that comfortable (a little on the short side for my height). Just needs a little update.

We had a brand new Annex with a lovely stoney garden. It had tables and chairs outside which was lovely, got the beautiful morning sun. The beds were Sooo comfortable I dont think I have slept so well in a very long time. We had a roast Lunch and my Nut roast and gravey with vegetables and Cauliflower cheese was totally delicious..

My Daughter travelled by Public Transport and needed to get a Taxi to & from Taunton. It's beautifully situated but I would say a car is a must as the buses are So unreliable and stop so early. Plus the Inn is a 25 min walk from the nearest bus stop.

Accessed via country roads the Inn is in a tranquil setting. Going inside our room we found it to be very clean with comfortable beds and a very nice shower. The Inn has a restaurant which we tried our first night and we were both impressed with the food and the staff. If I get back to this area again I'd definitely choose the Anchor Inn again

Nothing springs to mind

It was a nice surprise to find the 3 single beds in a separate room to our double. When we had booked we expected everything to be in one big room. The shower was amazing too, very powerful! Lovely grounds, rules say you can't eat hot meals in the room but there are tables outside and the weather was good. Unfortunately we arrived too late to order breakfast so can't comment on the food but it looked good from what we saw.

We only had one issue really, we needed an iron, we didn't bring it as according to booking.com there is one in the room. We were unable to make contact until after 12pm due to the pub opening hours and were therefore late for the wedding we were attending that day. There is an emergency contact number but this states that its use comes with a fine if it is not an emergency and obviously needing an iron isn't exactly an emergency - we just couldn't go to a black tie event with creased shirts! We did try knocking a few times but no answer. It would be good to have a text message service for non emergency requests such as these or maybe to ask on check in. WIFI isn't great and we had no phone signals in the room either. There is signal out on the car park.

lovely old pub , food is lovely and the bar staff are very pleasant and welcoming , the area it’s situated in is lovely and relaxing and it’s not to far from the town which is a plus

Could do with some TLC in certain areas in the rooms but being and old building I completely understand , beds also aren’t the best very springy

The Anchor Inn food was excellent. Friendly staff and a nice room. The pub opened at noon, so there was no hot breakfast on both days. We requested continental breakfast, they made fresh croissants and delivered them the previous night. If you want to stay in bed and want more than that, source something yourself the previous night.

Nothing

lovely property with a big space for us all, we had a separate bedroom to the children which was great. proper country pub with really nice food and gluten free options! was really accessible for us with children and a baby, loads of parking, you can have a drink whilst watching the kids play in the play area

would’ve been good for us if we could’ve accessed the children’s park when the pub was closed and also maybe a vending machine or something for snack emergencies
