Lovely building, friendly staff and the spa facilities were great.

The only thing that let it down was the cleanliness. Cobwebs around the room, carpets a little grubby which wasn’t a big deal, it was mainly the bathroom. The shower head was THICK with limescale so it must’ve been a while since it was cleaned. I’ve never known anything like it, to point where I showered in the spa area. It was really disappointing as I did not expect somewhere like the Elms to be unclean. I did highlight this to reception and showed them the pictures, which they were disgusted at. I was advised someone would be in touch with me but haven’t heard anything and that was 3 weeks ago, little disappointing.

Loved the house granola and the serve yourself style for breakfast. Much better this way. Hot breakfast beautifully cooked. Thank you. Room was quiet - we asked for that, thank you. Spa facilities stunning and so welcome. Very clean, well staffed and supplied. Had a walk around the grounds and saw rainbows in the sky. Magic.

The strong smell of fish around reception on our arrival and most of our stay. I understand you do a good job with fish at breakfast but I just wish the smell could be removed. It may put some people off. We didn’t eat dinner here because we have done it before and felt disappointed with it.

Stunning location. Beautifully decorated. Spa facilities were excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Sunday evening we telephoned as we were returning later than planned about 9pm asked any chance of something to eat. Extremely accommodating, had food from the lunch menu in the lounge bar, it was excellent. Thank you very much.

There is no lift. Carrying our own bags, dresses and suits up four flights of stairs. Not good for a couple in their sixties. That was for a splendid room. No porter and no thought into room allocation depending on age. Friday evening meal, we were seated in the restaurant bar area, a thorough fair. The starter and main meal were average, disappointing really considering the price. The pastry chef however is a diamond. Best part of the meal.

I have been coming to the elms for years and have always rated the rooms and Spa very highly. Happy with my stay as always but have noticed a couple of differences. The spa used to be available on check in day and check out day from any time which it isn't anymore, I understand this may be needed however I know it attracts quite a few of my friends and family to go there when they may not as much without this availability. Previously if you were going for a birthday there were bits in the room or at dinner as complimentary treats, I'm not sure this happens anymore as my friend tried to make a point of it being a birthday treat but nothing was acknowledged. These are not criticisms as I'm completely happy with my stay but just little things that people regularly using the elms will notice. Service and accommodation was perfect

We spent a couple of days there for a birthday celebration and It has been such a lovely experience. Staff has been so welcoming and everything has been superb. In our room we found fresh apples and some coffee and biscuits and we loved it. The spa is so beautiful, the pool is a dream and the restaurant bar warm and cosy. We took a couple of cocktails after dinner and we enjoyed the outside area. We couldn't ask more. All the staff members made the whole experience even better with their genuine and passionate way. We cannot wait to come back

Spa was very very good and general housekeeping very good. Staff were really friendly yet always polite and courteous. Grounds were pleasant to wander peacefully in the evening. Hope your favourite colour is grey and you like to choose your ornaments from TKMax - just an over enthusiastic interior designer?

The breakfast was good even if felt rationed with toast and tea availability. Dinner was a great disappointment with poor choice, poor quality and high prices, however we were refunded and now feel happy to recommend for the reasons stated above.

The staff were lovely, professional and happy to help. The spa facilities were amazing! The grounds were beautiful. Visually everything was a treat! We were very impressed with the interior design and cosy feeling the hotel gave.

The double bedroom was compact and very dark. I appreciated the moody lighting/romantic vibe however it would have been nice to have the option of a main light when natural light through a small window is lacking. A fridge in the room would have been nice, perhaps a room service menu? The food in Badgers restaurant was okay, v.expensive for what it was.

This is the first time my wife and I have been back here for 5 years, and wow, what an amazing transformation. The Elms was incredible before, but now, it is absolutley amazing. From the moment we parked up and walked through to reception, the whole experience massively surpassed our expectations. The staff were very professional, accomodating and friendly. The Coach House Suite we stayed in was so much more than we envisaged and to top it, the outside bath tub's with heating were an added bonus. Thank you for such an incredible stay and see you again in April 2023

beautiful property, smelt Devine. The spa was fantastic. the staff throughly helpful and friendly. really enjoyed my stay.. would have loved to have stayed longer!

£170 for less than 24 hours (I travelled alone for a local wedding) so didn’t split the cost and was away from 6-12pm… so probably not the most cost effective. But I would do it again.. so obviously didn’t bother me too much. would prefer like check in at 2 and leave at 12 maybe. also the pillows were a little hard for my personal taste… I prefer softer (or at least a choice instead of 4 hard)

The breakfast - various items not within buffet selection, juice not replenished (both options empty). Asked for my breakfast to be cooked in specific way, non of it done as per request, eggs were beyond greasy, breakfast not followed up by host, it was clearly obvious there was disappointment as it wasn’t eaten - so little to no breakfast for me.
