The parking reservation was a nice touch, the food was delicious/amazing, but without a doubt, one of the best things about our stay was the wonderful staff especially Jennifer who was my partner in crime in setting up the 30th Wedding Anniversary surprise weekend for my Husband. And a shout out to Laura also.

We loved our bedroom, and everything was perfect, but we were not expecting to only have 2 Velux skylights and no actual windows, which was fine but made the room a little claustrophobic, especially for my husband. Also, if you closed the skylights or they closed automatically due to it raining, then it got quite stuffy in the room even when the fan provided was set to high.

The room and bed were very comfortable, with high-quality towels and amenities provided. Jo and the rest of the staff were incredibly kind and very helpful. The location was great for what I came to do, which was hike and explore some of the sights in the area. It was great to have a dedicated parking spot right near the entrance.

The food at the restaurant was very good, but not great. All the ingredients were fresh, and the food was seasoned well, but the "wow factor" was missing for me for food that was outside of the normal pub fare. Please note that I'm a foodie and have pretty high standards, and the food here will be perfectly delicious for most folks. The village of Tideswell is very small, and many of the shops were closed the whole time I was there. Just a note if you planned to pop into any of them.

I could not fault The Merchants Yard. It was our wedding day and we had eloped and traffic was not on our side! I want to thank all the staff for their kindness and checking us in so late and still offering a much needed welcome drink! The fizz went down perfectly. The room's were immaculate, stunning bathrooms and skylights which were incredible and different, it was lovely to let the crisp morning air in. I didn't want to leave and would definitely come back! We were so looked after from start to finish! reserved parking, we had what felt like a private dining experience for breakfast and it was just win and after win. The most perfect team who make their guests feel so welcome and taken care of. Thank you for making our wedding day unforgettable. The robes were gorgeous too!

There was nothing I would improve. It was perfect for us. There was even a fridge with water and tea/coffee facilities which really benefitted our late arrival.

The location was ideal for visiting the Peak District and we were allocated a named parking space for the duration of our stay. Our room was furnished to a high standard and equipped with everything we could have needed. The bathroom was modern and spotlessly clean. We ate breakfast and dinner in the restaurant each day and the food was of a consistently high standard and beautifully presented by polite and friendly serving staff. The staff at the reception were friendly and knowledgable, and made us feel special throughout our stay.

Nothing.

A sensational place in the Peak District, Tideswell is a lovely village and you're close to many walks and to Buxton. The rooms are brilliant and obviously designed by someone who has stayed in a lot of hotels. Everything is provided, treats in the fridge and in the bathroom, wonderful comfortable bed! Great staff who were so welcoming and seemed to go the extra mile. An amazing, filling and high quality breakfast in the mornings. The bar and restaurant are top notch. My friends and I were all impressed and would happily return.

Nothing to improve.

Location was good, accommodation was well appointed and comfortable, staff were mostly polite and helpful, reserved parking space.

Could be more helpful with booking evening meals e.g. offer booking slots, we may heave eaten there for most of our stay, not just one night. On the last morning, a Monday, we came down to breakfast at 8:30am to find there were no staff. I called the duty manager in the end. The first member of staff (I believe the cook?) was apologetic but the key manager who we spoke to when we were checking out didn't seem to care much.

The breakfast is one of the best we have ever had. The choice, quality, quantity could not be improved on....magnificent!! The rooms were excellent and the attention to detail on everyone unmatched. We even had our own car parking space with our name such that it was guaranteed for the duration of our stay. The location was central for many attractions.

Only problem was that we both put on almost half a stone due to the wonderful food available, but we can't blame David and his staff for that!!!!!

Lovely boutique hotel. Great lunch and breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful, organised our taxi into Buxton and back. Room tastfully furnished and light, considering there were no windows, just a velux in the lovely, high ceiling.

Fab room but no windows/view apart from a velux skylight which wouldn't open as it was raining. Great for the one night that we stayed. Wouldn't have wanted more than one night in this room. This is not a criticism as we had a good experience!

The room was amazing - very high ceiling and very modern in decor. The additional welcome touches were appreciated and unexpected - we got a welcome drink and some delicious home-made fudge. The staff were really welcoming. The personalised car parking space was also a really nice touch.

There wasn't a lot of things we didn't like, however, one of the reasons we chose this place was the highly rated food (double rosette awarded). Although some of the food was very good, breakfast especially was a let-down. The pastry continental selection was meant to include pain au chocolat, but when that didn't come and I asked about it, I was told they had ran out. This sort of information should be given at the point of ordering, as I would have chosen something different. Also, a couple of the pastries were overcooked and were more biscuit-like than pastry. Small disappointments, but if the food was double rosette award-worthy, I would have expected better.

Upon arrival we had such a warm welcome from the staff. Our room was beautiful and had a lovely finish with some great tech in the room which was a nice surprise. Gordon couldn't do enough for us, such a lovely man. He helped us out with restaurant recommendations and really went out of his way to help us. The breakfast was absolutely beautiful. Great selection of fresh juices, teas and coffees paired with a selection of gorgeous pastries. Then after had a delicious veggie breakfast which is hard to find! 100% would stay again we loved it, highly recommended.
