It was exactly what I wanted, comfortable, clean, warm, and reasonably-priced. And the location, ideal for the pretty town of Bakewell and the Derbyshire Dales, was unbeatable ! Everybody was friendly and helpful.
There was nothing I didn't like, but others might want to be aware that the accommodation is adjacent to the inn's outdoor space (and a town street), and the walls are very thin. In October this was not a problem (and I would have slept through a fire drill anyway.......) but in high season I can imagine noise would be a problem for some guests.

The location was excellent - in the town centre. I liked the included breakfast and the free parking was a huge bonus as Bakewell can get very busy at the weekend. The staff were friendly and helpful and we were always able to get a sunny seat in the beer garden.
The rooms could do with a refurb; the carpets, wallpaper and windows etc were a bit tatty but we didn't mind for a couple of nights. I probably wouldn't choose here if you were trying to impress a new partner!

Excellent comfortable clean room and would not hesitate to recommend it.
We booked a table for an evening meal which left a lot to be desired. My wife's scampi and chips were not well cooked and not very hot. My lasagne was the worst I have ever been served, the white sauce was more like mashed potato than sauce, the pasta and meat were just a stodgy mush and the garlic bread soggy and not at all crispy. When the waiter came to clear the table and asked if the food was okay I said it was not up to scratch. He replied well we like to fill people up and disappeared not to be seen again. On reflection I think he misheard me and thought I meant it was us that were not up to scratch because of the half full plates remaining.

Lovely traditional pub in a good location in the town. We stayed in the Chatsworth room which had a double bed & 2 single beds.Very spacious room with TV, ensuite bathroom & tea & coffee making facilities. Would recommend this pub.
We had a job parking due to a small car park, we had to park further away in car park the other side of the river. 3.30 pm we eventually moved our car to the pub car park in which we managed to park due to an available space. The radiators in our room need bleeding due to air bubbles gurgling through the night which interfered with our sleep.

Great location. Clean, large bedroom, good sized bathroom. Friendly staff. Good food. Very good in terms of non gluten food. Lovely bread. Parking.
Got given an obsolete menu on one occasion so had to re chose our menu option. Got served the wrong food on one occasion (it was busy). We accepted it and it was good but it was a cheaper option but we didn’t get given the difference in price.

The location was excellent for exploring Bakewell and the surrounding areas. Had an evening meal and breakfast which we both enjoyed. The staff were very attentative and helpful throughout. Would recommend staying here and intend to return again on the not too distant future.
The room we were in could have been slightly larger and at both meals we had some choices were not available.

Right in the centre of Bakewell, handy for the showground. The parking is great, 8 electric car chargers right next door. The staff were great, nothing was too much trouble, breakfast was excellent.
Breakfast starts at 08:00 which means this is realistically a tourist only hotel. And the fabric of the hotel (not the pub) is poor. Given that everything was shut for 6-12 months it’s incredible that Greene King didn’t put any time or effort into maintaining a fantastic location hotel. The main door into the upstairs rooms was literally rotten and the bathroom floor in my room (Bakewell) was unsympathetically patched.

The breakfast was good, the main menu was good. The location was excellent. The room , as requested were two close together, however their access was directly on to the pavement in front of the pub. I personally found this a little strange. The room itself was very clean , nicely furnished , bathroom and shower were excellent. An unusual feature was the paved flagstone floor ! ( disposable slippers were provided)

We were really pleased with the room very large room and good bathroom very clean. The pub food was fantastic I had the best steak in the UK so good I had the same the next night. The breakfast was great good variety and the scramble eggs are salmon was very good
We could not find anything that could be better. A traditional English Pub just what we wanted.

A great location in the centre of Bakewell. Ideal small residents car park in this very busy Peak District town. Comfortable bed. A good breakfast.
Staff rather dictatorial as to where to sit in the restaurant. Evening meal rather average, but made up for by a good breakfast. The bathroom rather let the room down, needing some attention and modernisation.
