Beautiful peaceful location, not 10 minutes out the centre of Buxton. The room was generous and facilities were very clean and contemporary so were easy to use. The bed was incredibly comfortable and soft. Breakfast was fantastic, perfect amount and got to choose what there was. Also was cereal and fruit on offer. Lynn and her husband were so warm and welcoming it meant ever such a lot as I was new to the area and travelling alone for work. Parking is on site so was easy to nip to the car if needs be. Tv, kettle and welcome book in the room with really interesting info about the area, good size wardrobe and extra blankets on hand just in case the temperature drops. All possibilities were covered and it really made me feel at ease and able to enjoy myself despite it being a work related trip. I will definitely come back. thank you so much xx

We were incredibly lucky to have booked The Old Barn. Myself, my wife, our friends, were visiting the Opera house, just 10 minutes away. Such beautiful tranquil surroundings, fantastic spacious comfortable homely impeccably clean rooms, everything finished to such a high standard. delicious breakfast with everything on offer you could ever wish for. The hosts were so kind, so friendly, so welcoming, I can’t emphasise how lovely they were and how they made our stay such an enjoyable and comfortable one. Absolutely terrific value all round also. We’ve stayed in more places than I can remember and I can honestly say this is one of the nicest places. Thank you immeasurably 🙂👍

Such a peaceful and revitalising stay at The Old Barn. The secluded location only 10-15 minutes from Buxton was wonderful. Our room was comfortable and warm, with plenty of storage, a little tea and coffee tray (with some lovely cookies) and a nice en suite. The cooked breakfast was amazing and fresh, the eggs were so golden and the sausages tasted great. Accompanied with a great selection of fruit, cerals, juice and tea and coffee. Would highly recommend staying at The Old Barn.

That are holiday ended, neither of us wanted to leave

Lynn and Pete were first class hosts and the breakfast that they provided was amazing. Each morning my brother and I were treated to an array of freshly prepared fruit and cereal, followed by a hearty full English breakfast which was made to order. The barn is set in an idyllic location, surrounded by peaceful countryside. The room and bathroom were very clean and the shower was excellent.

Not having enough holiday so that we could stay longer!

Lynne and Pete are wonderful hosts. And Eric the cat is also very welcoming. A really good breakfast in elegant, comfortable surroundings. Our room at the end was spacious and well above par. It's a beautiful and quiet hamlet and we thoroughly enjoyed our nearby walk in Deepdale.

No nitpicking! A day of rain was not their fault! It was the best of the accommodation we booked on our trip and a lovely way to spend the final days of our holiday.

Location was idyllic and extremely convenient for both Byxton( opera house/ gardens/ shops) and wide variety of activities. We were linking Gilbert and Sullivan festival with 2 days ‘ trail’ cycling. Easy access to a number of old railway track off road routes made for a pleasant couple of days. Lynne and Pete were both fantastic. Great hosts -warm, welcoming ,helpful, friendly and just “ our kinda folk…” Thanks - we’ll be back!

The breakfast was superb, very fresh fruit and yoghurt and an excellent cooked breakfast with toast and ground coffee served by two very polite and knowledgeable people. It was a very quiet location but easy access to Buxton and surrounding areas. Just what we wanted peace and quiet to rest on way to Chatsworth House fair. Superb.

There was noting we didn't like. The route in was well explained and it was like stepping back in time to such a quiet place with no traffic and no noise. We will definitely stay again when passing through.

Lovely room, really clean, fantastic welcome on arrival. Lynn and Peter are so friendly and make you feel like you are a very special guest in what is a fabulous welcoming home. The breakfast was truly outstanding and nothing was too much trouble. We sadly only had a quick stopover here but will definitely return. We have to mention Eric the cat, a real superstar!

The fact we had to leave!! Nothing to dislike at all.

Fantastic converted barn building in a peaceful hamlet but just ten minutes drive into Buxton, or five minutes to the popular High Peak Bookstore & café. Lynn and Pete are very welcoming hosts and the rooms are spotlessly clean, warm and comfortable. The breakfast is generous and delicious. They will also accommodate any dietary requests you have. Highly recommend a stay in this historic building and beautiful hamlet.

We had a lovely stay with Lynn and Pete. They are very friendly and warm hosts. Our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. A lovely bright bathroom. We felt very welcome as soon as we arrived. Lynn gave us lots of information about the area. Breakfast was excellent, with lots of choice.. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Nothing at all.
