The food was really good , the evening meals and our breakfast. The room was clean and modern and the bathroom was big enough to move about in ,which is so nice as many are now so small. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. It's great value for money, Would definitely stay again 🙂

The bed was clean but the washing powder they used was too scented for me and I could smell it all night Only saying this as it's the only bad thing I could think of.

The room was quite cosy. The pub had a lovely beer garden , and was relaxed in atmosphere. The room was quiet even though it was above the pub and on the main street. The bed was large. Although it's not possible to park at the pub, parking is available very close by at the station free of charge. The village is small but pleasant and the beach is within easy walking distance. The views from the beach and the start of the coast to coast walk are spectacular. We had an evening meal in the pub which was plentiful and really good quality food. The bar serves a good range of beers and wines. The staff were welcoming and helpful.

The bathroom window did not open so it was hard to keep towels dry. A bath mat would be nice. The door to the bathroom sticks a little, and needs attention. Also, the complimentary toiletries did not include shampoo. The bed was a little soft for my back.

The manager is a really nice guy & does a fantastic full English, just what you need after the beautiful Peroni the previous evening relaxing in the beer garden (suntrap), good mix of music on the go, we stayed in room 12 & found it very comfortable, overlooking the beer garden but wasn’t too noisy, all in all we enjoyed our stay & would rebook if we up that way again 👍🏻🥇

Ran out of apple crumble pretty quick, 🤣🤣🤣

Great location with the beach not far away. Comfortable and clean room. Great breakfast.

It was already fully booked for food in the evening. Not lack of space but lack of staff. They suggested two other places which both had the same issue and directed us back to the Queens. The other St Bees pub took pity on us when we said we would take whatever they had on the menu that was easiest for the kitchen so we did get something to eat. So be sure to book your table before arriving if it's a peak time. As we were doing a coast to coast trip it would be good if there was somewhere secure to leave the bikes.

Loved that the rooms were named after the Lakes. I stayed in Haweswater. This was a last minute booking as needed somewhere to stay due to train strike. I'd completed the Coast to Coast the day before. Reasonable beer choice and great beer garden. Cute pub with two bars. The quality of evening meal was excellent. Breakfast was ok with made to order cooked breakfast. Not overly extensive pre cooked breakfast choices and don't remember the coffee standing out - I'm a bit of a coffee snob. Close to train station.

TV in room was a bit old and on recollection I think that one of the lamps was out. Not really a dealbreaker though. Pub doesn't open until the afternoon which meant couldn't leave bags, but worked out fine as managed to get earlier train.

Booked a twin room and a double. Both rooms large and spacious. Breakfast was good with good choice of cooked food. Didn’t see any continental fayre in the breakfast room. Staff friendly and helpful

No parking and due to an unexpected late night getting back into the hotel we couldn’t work out how to get in, found a door up some uneven steps and the key worked in that door but this wasn’t explained when we arrived

Very decent pub with good value rooms above. Rooms are basic but are clean and comfortable and have everything you need including tea and coffee making facilities and a decent shower. Lovely welcome from the staff and good food in the evening - the pizza was excellent! Breakfast was good too. Parking is very limited but available along Main Street or at the railway station (free) which is a 2 minute walk away.

A friendly landlord and staff. Excellent breakfast included in price. Good bar with choice of real ales. Two minutes walk from the railway station.

No car parking - but free parking at the railway station. No evening meal on Sunday or Monday - but excellent alternatives available nearby.
