Nothing was too much trouble for Jo, the host. She is very knowledgeable of the local area and helpful. Every day there is cereal, plain yogurt and a variety of fresh fruits and juice. Also, a tea, coffee and a big hearty cooked breakfast of your choice of any size. Our twin room was delightful and clean with a view of the pretty garden with happily roaming chickens. Separate to our room was the toilet and shower rooms, for our use only. We found it better to have these away from our bedroom. There are many little useful extras to make your stay just perfect. This was our second visit which says it all.

Plenty of choice for breakfast, freshly cooked to order. Loads of literature about the area, and Jo was very knowledgeable as well. The toiletries in the bathroom were plentiful, also additional items, i.e. eye mask and ear plugs, hair dryer, even torch and binoculars. We enjoyed our friendly morning conversations with Jo, it was fascinating to see the work, with the pictures in a book, that she had achieved in renovating Dale View. A comfortable, friendly place to stay, a home from home environment that we would recommend to anyone.

Nothing to comment on

Set in a beautiful location, this B&B was just lovely. We had a fantastic stay and Jo made us very welcome and comfortable. We arrived early but Jo was able to accommodate this at no extra charge. The room was clean with beautiful decor and had everything we needed and more, including a pack of cards, toothbrushes, shower caps etc. Breakfast was great and Jo was happy to cater to our dietary needs. We loved the quiz cards on the breakfast tables - that was such a nice touch! All in all a very homely, pleasant stay which we couldn’t fault, and we couldn’t believe how good the value for our money was.

Nothing!

We had a lovely stay here. Jo has thought about the traveller… there is just about everything you could possibly need for a few days away. From a shower cap, to every type of fruit tea, to toothpicks, to a specific towel for people who have newly dyed hair! Jo cooks a fab breakfast, all freshly prepared. You may have to wait for 10 mins for your full English, but it’s worth the wait! Dale View is nicely situated for walks into the mountains. The beach is a five minute drive from the property.

The room only had a top opening window, so the room was a little too warm for me. There is a fan in the room, but I don’t like a fan ‘whirring’ away all night.

Fantastic B&B with a wonderful room that thoughtfully had all the little touches for guests and so much more. The bed was exceptionally comfy and the USB chargers in the lamps were very handy. The breakfast was outstanding, perfectly cooked to order and so much choice. It's no exaggeration to say Jo cooks the best full English I've ever had! Jo goes above and beyond for her guests and also provides great advice on places to visit during your stay. So glad we found this place, we'll be sure to book again next time we're in the area.

Absolutely nothing!

Firstly, Jo is an excellent host who has thought of everything that one might need. Breakfast is, again, excellent with exceptional choices. Jo is very knowledgeable about the area and gave us superb advice. The location is exactly what we were looking for; away from the busy more commercial Lake District areas but well within striking distance of lovely walks, etc. But not too far from places like Kendal and Keswick which one must visit when in the area.

There is nothing bad to say about Jo or the accommodation or other guests we met whilst there.

This place is run by someone who really does it with love. The attention to details, are really appreciated. as an example - in addition to standard white towels, there is a black towel provided and a sign that says - the towel is for hair which has been newly/recently dyed, I've not seen this anywhere, nor will I benefit from this, but it's a case in point as to Jo's hard work, passion and love for her guests. bathroom was very generously sized. lovely stay. excellent staging point for Lakes excursions. will come back.

It was really perfect.

Breakfast was wonderful, choice of cereal, fruit, pastries, full English, toast, juice tea or coffee. Catered for special dietary requirements with good choice with no fuss whatsoever. Room super cosy with exceptional extras in toiletries and refreshments. Much thought went into making guests have all their holiday needs catered for. Host friendly and confident enough to let guests freedom to come and go without fuss. Location wonderful, on a main road but it’s not a much used road and you could not hear any nighttime noise at all. Use of hosts garden which was a little oasis.

It was a wonderful guest house and great room, only concern was if noise of toilet macerator when toilet flushed disturbed other guests. We couldn’t hear others so hopefully it didn’t bother them either.

My partner and I chose to stay here after hiking Scafell and our experience was faultless. It was about a 25 minute drive from Wasdale, where our hike began. The host welcomed us immediately and showed us to our room, which was lovely. The bed was ever so comfy - just what we needed after our hike! The room had all the commodities you could ask for, so there’s nothing to worry about if you’ve forgotten something. Breakfast in the morning was delicious, and there were plenty of options to accommodate all appetites. It was wonderful chatting to the host afterwards, who was ever so kind and more than happy to inform us of the local area. I would love to stay here again, and actually think that we underpaid for the experience we had. 5* any day of the week, would recommend to anyone!

There is nothing I didn’t like.
