The host Gillian was fantastic - we were there for just a few short hours before Glastonbury, and sad we weren't staying for longer. Gillian made us feel at home - the restaurant wasn't open when we were there but she let us use her landline to call the local takeaway and let us eat in the restaurant. She also commented on how she was picking up other guests from their dinner which was sweet. The rooms were super comfortable and we had breakfast included. We were leaving before breakfast so Gill went to the shop to buy us food to take with us. All in all, a fantastic Inn and would love to come stay again in the future. thank you!

Breakfast was lovely. Very high quality food cooked by Gill herself as there is currently no chef. The food was provided to us by Phoebe who had a professional and friendly manner. We loved the quiet location. This is very much a rural setting.

Currently there is no chef at the venue so no evening meals were available, but we understand this will be rectified in September. This is just a cautionary bit of advice to others that taxis are "few and far between" in this area, and if future visitors are attending a wedding locally (such as North Cadbury Court) they should book well in advance!

Set in a beautiful location. One of the best welcomes from a wonderful landlady. Gill made everything very easy. The room was ideal, with tea & coffee facilities, nice en-suite and a lovely put up bed for our little one. Nothing we needed was too much trouble and the breakfast was AMAZING

Currently the pub does not have a chef so could not offer an evening meal. Gill was very apologetic and had warned us in advance so no fault of hers, but as the rest of the stay was so good it would have been nice to sample what I imagine would have been an excellent dinner!

Jill was a fantastic host. She made us very welcome and really looked after us during our stay. The location was fantastic as we had a wedding just down the road, she helped with taxi recommendations too. Thanks Jill for the great stay, we really enjoyed our time and you were a great host.

You will pay a surcharge for Taxis in this area because it is out of reach to most places, but that isn't any fault on the accommodation.

This place is out of an old British storybook. Very popular local pub. Full English breakfast was fantastic. Both the version cooked by the chef and also the one made by Gill the innkeeper. Very welcoming and accommodating staff at the Inn.

The location was fantastic, no phone reception and very little wi-fi which was great to just unwind without interruption. The host, Gill was absolutely lovely, we had a wonderful chat outside in the sunshine whilst enjoying a drink in the garden. It is an incredibly peaceful location. The food was absolutely fabulous, the best cod I have ever tasted and our friends said it was the best tartare sauce they had ever had. The servings were huge and the service was excellent. There were six of us for dinner and 3 of us had the cod and 3 of us had the steak as main courses. Our plates were empty. The brownie dessert was the best I've ever eaten. The breakfast the next morning was equally excellent and again Gill was on hand and served our food.

The people in the room next door arrived back at 1.15am and were incredibly loud and chatting so we could hear everything and then snored all night which kept us awake.

We went there for one night during a tour in the Somerset area. Everything was beautiful and the place was really peaceful. The host was super welcomed and available to chat. We really had a good time adn the food was amazing too.

Breakfast was great, room was great. Gil left me wonderful instructions as I arrived late. Also there was water in the room, milk in the fridge, I would stay here again

I booked here as just a nice looking place which popped up on Booking.com. I was definitely not disappointed. This is a beautiful rural location, surrounded by fields, cows and nature. Absolutely incredible views. Gil was THE best hostess that we could wish for. She helped us without hesitation, she personally organised flowers and champagne for the room. A lovely surprise for my lady. We WILL be back very soon. Oh…. The food…. My goodness, I can’t tell you how tasty everything was. The beef was out of this world. The lamb was equally as good. Nothing really. The shower went hot and cold but only a little. Really not much not to like!

The whole Experience was a fantastic one.Jill the host was 10 out of 10 and couldn’t be more helpful. The food in the Stags head was one of the best meals that me and my partner have eaten in a long while. I couldn’t recommend it anymore. If you’re in the vicinity please stop by even if it’s only for lunch.
