The pub itself is worth a visit. Beautifully traditional with an open fire. Exactly what we needed after a cold blustery day. We were allowed to check in early as the room was ready which was so appreciated. Food was fantastic, freshly made and very tasty. We only stated for one night but will definitely be back if we need to be in the area again. Room was perfect, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and accommodating and interested in where you'd travelled from. It was a lovely experience.

The bed was too firm, but that is personal preference and not in anyway their fault.

I stayed at the Cross Keys for an event locally, the staff were exceedingly friendly from the start. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and a good size. The pub itself has a good selection of food and drink, and has a very welcoming atmosphere. There is a sizeable car park to the rear which can accommodate vehicles up to van/pick-up truck easily. Overall, I was very happy with my stay and would definitely book again.

I had no issues with the venue at all. Separately, if you need taxis during your stay be sure to book well in advance.

A very nice and rather quirky country inn with a great bar and pub garden and friendly and helpful staff. The room we stayed in was reasonably spacious and clean with a good shower. It was very hot and humid at the time but they had provided two fans which helped a lot. We enjoyed the continental breakfast which consisted of cereal, fruit juice, fruit, yoghurt, croissants or toast, and cheese and ham.

We thought the evening meal menu was a bit limited for non-meat eaters and quite pricey so we decided to dine out in either nearby Somerton or Street. The window in our room was fogged up which rather spoiled the view.

Great atmosphere. We arrived after what had been a 10th anniversary weekend of celebrations. It was obvious that the weekend had been a success and money had been raised for the Alzheimer’s Association. Staff were very friendly, the bedroom, though fairly small, had everything we needed and more; as well as tea and coffee making facilities there was hot chocolate, biscuits, bottled water and chocolates. There was also a fan, should we have needed it. We enjoyed a good evening meal, and the continental breakfast was varied (cereal, fruit, yogurt, ham, cheese, hot croissant), plentiful and delicious.

Breakfast was adequate for our needs. The village area is lovely and the National Trust gardens are just down the road. The rooms are quaint, have charm and are well presented.

The pub is old, so some facilities were cramped such as the bathroom in ours. We had two rooms - one for us and one for my sister. She found her room quite restrictive in head-height despite being a smaller person - 5ft 3.

Cor, what a fabulous place!!!! Extremely friendly staff, comfortable pub with big roaring fire, fabulous choice of beers, ciders and spirits. The food was wonderful, I had the ham, egg and chips, it looked like I had hardly touched when I finished because the portion was so generous. I had to leave before breakfast, the team provided me with a lovely bowl of Greek yoghurt and honey, I could have had a breakfast wrap if I wanted it, there is a fridge on the landing. The room, it had absolutely everything you could wish for, USB sockets, excellent shower, tea, coffee, chocolate, biscuits, lots of milks, water...touch lamps which I love. Best of all for me, there was a fan which was brill. On the landing there was an ironing board and iron and there were spare waters in the fridge. Good WiFi. I was truly impressed with this wonderful hotel. Thank you!! 😊

Such a lovely atmosphere, great staff and well above average food. Sitting by a roaring fire with a cracking selection of Beers and Ales. A very posh continental breakfast to start thaw day. Oh and the room was good to 👍

The music in the pub could be heard in my room.

The location was good because we wanted somewhere for a one night stay on our way from Kent to Cornwall. Although the property is on a busy crossroad, the room was at the back and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the continental-style breakfast.

The room was on the small side but adequate for one night. We ate in the restaurant but found the evening menu somewhat restricted. However, what we did eat was good.

Breakfast was continental but plenty of it and fresh produce. Dinner was very good and we had a relaxing stay and would recommend to friends. Great to note this is still a "Free House" and not in the grips of a pub group monopoly. The enthusiasm of the staff and the standard of food and beverages reflect this.
