Dog friendly and lovely gardens and easy to get to the ferry to visit Beatrice potters House at Hill top .The hotel also had a swimming pool .The food was nice as we're the staff.A beautifull building also .

Room 11 and 14 water pressure is known to be poor due to being furthest away from the hot water pump .Unfortunatly we were in room 14 and the hot water was almost none existing so had to let it run for a very long time before anything came through .We were woken up at 2.45 am with noisy people in the corridor outside our door coughing and what sounded like them being sick so they must have been out drinking to much .

The staff were very friendly, and approving of dogs. Breakfast was very good! The room was great. Very big, comfy, and warm!

One night, I had the veg red thai curry, and parts of it were still frozen. I was fine eating around it, and didn't want to make a fuss, but thought I should mention it!

Breakfast was large and hot and very tasty. The kids really enjoyed the pool. The room was very roomy and the forest view was pleasant.

Initially, we couldn't figure out how to flush the toilet but this has been a theme in many places we've stayed at in England. I asked the woman at the front desk and she came to our room and showed us how to flush. Problem solved and we were grateful.

I only had breakfast, but the food was excellent and guests have the choice of dining indoors, in the conservatory or outside. Public areas are very conveniently situated with clear signage. My room had dual aspect, which let in a lot of light. It was comfortable, with a nicely-sized television and modern furniture. The hotel had a welcoming atmosphere. There were sufficient parking spaces. The hotel is in a quiet location and ideal for anyone touring the Lake District.

It was hot but the windows in my room (No.20) didn't open and one of the lights above the bed wasn't working. Perhaps little details like that should be checked and fixed before guests arrive. No complaints, otherwise.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The property is located at a private location away from the crowds with extensive gardens to wander through. The King bed was very comfortable as was the room which had large bifold doors to look out of. We visited during a heatwave, and it was nice to sit on the lawn in front of the house for breakfast and dinner in the evening looking towards the lake.

We picked the Superior Double room, which was a short walk from the main building, bar, and restaurant. It would have been nice if it had a small fridge in It to keep some drinks cool and a little bench for the kettle and coffee pod machine instead of a coffee table. A small fan would have been nice for the warm summer nights, too.

Great location, lovely staff, good breakfast, heated pool is an absolute dream, bed was pretty comfy and the shower and bath are both great, exceptional value for money for such a nice room in a hotel which is so well placed to explore Windermere, the Lakes at large, and pop into Bowness for dinner

Sofa in the room wasn't especially comfy, there was a very bright light shining in the room from a ceiling light (it was a green light, I guess some kind of indicator, but it was like a floodlight on the bed, we ended up calling covering it with a bit of tape), had one kinda rude interaction with a staff member (I got food just before 10 when breakfast closes, but had to ask for him to leave some cutlery and he sharply told me it was 10.01) BUT these are minor nitpicks, overall it was a really good stay and I'd highly recommend it

Breakfast was fantastic. Large selection of things to choose from (buffet) you could also order eggs from the kitchen. The swimming pool was very clean and well maintained, always quiet when we went. The staff were accommodating and friendly. The location of the hotel is great for walks and across from windermere lake. The hotel looks incredible from the outside, free parking right outside too. The bed was very comfortable.

The whole place was very outdated. The decor/furniture etc felt alot like a home for the elderly - upon googling the hotels history I discovered it had in fact been a home for the elderly prior to it being a hotel. Some areas in dire need of a paint touch up and the headboard in my room was hanging off.

Lovely little hotel situated approx 1.5-2 mile from bowness-On-Windermere. We stayed in the annex room lovely little patio doors onto a superb decking and garden area ,excellent bath and shower,super king bed with thee most fluffiest pillows,tv bath robes ,No slippers but we did inform reception to ensure we weren’t charged for these, tea and coffee factualities bottled spring water and Kit Kats condiments in the room.good in the hotel was delicious,free breakfast to guests,reasonable priced .on-site heated swimming pool ,lovely little gem and very dog friendly. Staff were pleasant and polite nothing was too much trouble and extremely friendly. Little tip if you use the hair dryer ensure you keep your finger on the press button saves it cutting out and running reception and looking silly 🤣

Couple of cobwebs within the room especially the bathroom,but likely nothing you wouldnt probably find at home. Had read a few reviews that slated the swimming pool, I found it reasonably clean.changing areas,toilets,showers.enjoyed a dip after a long day walking.

We like the location of the hotel, it’s near loads of good places like the Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre yet not too near to the busy roads. The place itself is lovely - not too extravagant yet comfortable and lovely enough for a staycation kind of thing. We like the garden and most especially the big chess board therein. The double room is big enough for the couple and the bed is nice and comfy and the bathroom is clean too. The staff are nice and approachable. We love the pool which is nice and warm and not too strict with the swimming attire. The buffet breakfast is amazing, with hot and cold choices. They’re delicious though I hope they offer turkey bacon as an option for the usual bacon. Although we love that they offer to do packed lunches which can be useful when you plan to go out swimming and has not really prepped any food for such activity.☺️

Nothing that we didn’t like really, although I think I should I have requested for the room near the balcony in the 1st level fronting the garden or on the right side when facing the garden, where there is better view of the lake.
