The pub is centrally located and easy to find. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The room was a little compact as you might expect with an older character property, saying that is was an adequate size and comfortable. The beds were roomy and very comfortable, There were great tea and coffee facilities in the room. The bathroom was large enough with easy access to sink, toilet and shower and the shower was easy to work. The pub does a good range of food at economical prices. The breakfast was exceptional- top marks. It was one of the best. Would certainly return to stay at the Crown and Anchor when in the area again and would whole-heartedly recommend it to friends and family.

I needed somewhere to stay in the area and booked this place 'on spec'. The address was 'Old Woking' and to be frank, I was not expecting very much - just 'adequate', if I am honest. But I was very surprised: Whilst Woking itself is in my view, a perfectly satisfactory town but rather unlovely, I expected the Crown and Anchor to be situated somewhere urban - in fact it is in a lovely rural area. The view is over green fields. The place was easy to find - [I don't have a sat-nav as I use my car very infrequently.] I arrived to a very kind welcome, and Wendy, the hostess, was exactly that - a true hostess, kind and welcoming to her guests. She took me up to my room, showed me how things worked etc. She also took my order for breakfast the next day. I slept well in a lovely room - excellent shower, sufficient toiletries etc. After a good night's sleep, I went down for breakfast - I had an early start but Wendy had already confirmed that this was no problem, as breakfast was available at this time. With Juice and cereal and pastries I wan't going to leave hungry, but Wendy's lovely husband cooked me a wonderful 'full English' breakfast as well - included in the price. They really are the most hospitable couple and run a lovely place. That is the essence of hospitality, whether you are the Dorchester in London or the Crown and Anchor in Old Woking - take care of your guests and make them feel that they are welcome and exceed their expectations. I look forward to returning, although I fear that it will become harder to get a room once the word gets out! I suppose that's the downside with giving somewhere a good review - people will flock there.! Although I did not use it, there is a lovely beer garden and also play space for children. Thank you so much for your hospitality.
Nothing wrong - everything was great

The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a towel warmer in the bathroom, too. Breakfast was absolutely wonderful. The staff was all incredibly friendly, and the location made it easy to get around. We'd rented a car for the trip, and there was plenty of accessible parking. It's not too far from bus stops, and the train station is nearby. It was so much nicer staying here instead of in London itself.
Honestly, not much - the stay was overwhelmingly good, and I plan to come back here again next time I travel to the Woking area.

when we walked in you could see the beautiful beer garden at the back of the premises. the decor of the pub is lovely. we were shown to our room, it was lovely, fresh towels (proper bath sheet towel!) and 3 towels each. the crown and anchor theme carried through to the decor of the room. Very clean and they even had a small fridge with drinks if you wished to purchase & some goodies too if you wanted to buy too. We were staying 1 night as heading to a wedding nearby the next day. they had provided a book of local attractions etc. which some places overlook. There are only 5 bedrooms. we had dinner in the pub with friends that evening and food was very good, service great & it was lovely weather so the whole back patio doors of the pub were opened out into the garden. little area for kids in pub and games outside for them. breakfast was so nice as the weather was fab so we sat outside and had a great chat with the owners Marco and Wendy. if we ever need to travel again to UK to visit my husbands relatives, this will be the first place we will book

Lovely host Wendy, Booking.com didn't notify her that we had booked and paid for breakfast (I saw the notification she was sent which said room only, although my confirmation had breakfast included). She quickly got on and the chef provided very good full English breakfasts. Her warmth and friendliness diffused any awkwardness about the situation. Nice room with modern ensuite, coffee machine, TV and mini bar, very comfortable, extra large bed.
It's an old roadside Inn with original sash windows so there is some road noise at the front of the building, pretty much stopped from 12pm to 6am. Ear plugs are provided. The larger rooms may be quieter if facing out the back of the building which looks over the attractive pub garden and water meadows.

Room and bathroom appeared to have been recently refurbished. Excellent shower and toiletries. We appreciated the fan provided in the room as it was a hot day and night. Plenty of power points.
We didn't know the area and so, if we stayed again, we would ask for a room at the back. Our room was in the front, on the road which was very busy and therefore noisy. As it was hot, we had to have the window open. A very good fan was provided in the room. Improvements could be made in communication beforehand. Several messages were not responded to.

The Crown and Anchor is situated on the High Street and easy to locate with good parking facilities and happens to be very near to a petrol station. The pub is family run with a good personal touch. The room was spotless and the beds extremely comfy. There is a lovely outside area at the rear when the weather is fine to eat and drink or watch the ducks go past on the water.
The hot water was a bit TOO hot although it does warn you in advance ! My friend and I were only there for an overnight stopover and we had a great stay so no dislikes at all.

Staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a good stay. Staff friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The rather German inspired food menu in the pub is quirky for a British pub, but very tasty and good value. Plenty of choice for breakfast also. We stayed on a Thursday evening, so last orders in the pub was about 10pm I think, so there was no noise in the rooms later on which you get in some pub b&b’s.
Nothing.

Comfortable modern room. Wendy and her staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Lovely garden by the river. Good parking. It was a really convenient stop over the night before going to RHS Wisley. Thanks for a lovely stay.
Really loved the place, but there was no kettle, only a coffee machine dispensing hot water, which was a little awkward to use. Only 2 tea bags each provided free. Would have loved mugs instead of cups but just being picky now! We had a great stay.

The breakfast was outstanding and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. We found out at breakfast that if we had asked they would have knocked us up something to eat on the Sunday evening. Next time we'll know! We slept very well on the large bed so continued our journey refreshed the next morning.
The location is excellent but access suffers from the roadworks on surrounding roads; M25, A3. The restaurant closes early on Sundays which is a point worth remembering.
