Impressively large suite - that was a positive surprise (and I understood from some of the other guests, that it was not just me who lucked out). Charming and quirky property. Good selection of teas in the room (there was coffee as well) :)

Quity a lot of noise in the alley - and it was too hot to have the windows closed. Two minor things/syggestions: It would have been nice with body lotion amongst the toiletries (instead of 3 shampoos) Given the amont of space, a larger writing desk (and a better chair to sit on and work) could have been useful for me.

The location was great, right on the High Street near to shops and restaurants. Our room was large and fairly comfortable.

We had to mend our toilet flush many times. The TV could not get any basic channels or live BBC on iplayer therefore we were unable to watch any news. It pixelated on most other channels too. We were flying the next day and wanted to be updated on any news that might affect this. On speaking to the receptionist she wasn't at all apologetic but said she'd pop up later. When she couldn't get the TV to work or fully fix the toilet she again didn't apologise or offer any alternative, she just said leave it with her she'd tell maintenance. The was the last we heard of it.

Location was perfect for your stay and our room was beautiful with a lovely big comfortable bed.

We weren’t told until we checked in that there was a cocktail and cabaret bar in the middle of our hotel. The room we were given was literally next door to the bar and the noise from the bar was really very loud. If we had known the bar was there we might have thought twice about booking to stay there. There was no mention of the bar anywhere whilst booking, so it might be worthwhile adding it to websites. I was also disappointed that, given the price of the rooms and our stay, breakfast is not included and also not really offered at the hotel, unless you visit the cabaret bar (with no natural light) or the restaurant underneath the hotel…

I LOVED THE BUILDING and staff. and an added bonus was a Bill's Restaurant in the building. It was an easy walk from the train station with my dog. we were in Guildford for the Richmond Championship Dog Show. I had a High Street facing room which was noisy at night and with the heatwave, i had to leave the windows open and the portable fan running. all was fin.

Was surprised that the bedside lights were controlled by the overhead light switch, but appreciate that this is a VERY old building. I really loved my room and the bed, otherwise.

Nice welcome - I was even shown to my room by the lady at reception. The room was huge, beautifully made up, and had everything I needed. Nice big shower and, despite being just across the hall from the bar, the double door meant it was very quiet during the night. Great location right in the centre of the shopping district of Guildford. Being able to see the really old parts of the hotel was also pretty cool - what a history it must have had!

The only thing that was not excellent was the mattress on the bed - it might need replacing. Everything else was great though.

Was there for an exam prep. Ideal for that. Great location. Safe. Quiet. Good cafes and restaurants nearby. Super comfortable bed. Barman at Fallen Angel a good man. Hotel staff generally friendly and capable staff. Could be an amazing 4-5* hotel with just a little interest and effort.

Room heating is just cold and I’m afraid totally inadequate for winter. Room wasn’t cleaned at all one day which was disappointing and logistically annoying. £15 Breakfast “deal” at the “Fallen Angel” bar was pretty average unfortunately. Breakfast itself was ok there but literally imagine sitting by yourself in an empty nightclub still feeling like everyone bar you was there the night before - having breakfast at 8am. it’s a little weird. I wouldn’t do that again - just go to Bills for breakfast. That said - staff at the Fallen Angel bar were really good guys so kind of mixed feelings about it and the whole hotel. Staff at hotel were generally good bar one. Kind of mixed feelings about it. Would stay there again definitely but with above caveats.

The location. It was right on High Street in the very center of town. You could find 4 or 5 excellent coffee shops within a block of the hotel, and Guildford Castle was 3 minutes away on foot. On Tuesday morning there was a wonderful farmers' market just outside the hotel.

The central location meant that street noise began early in the morning - not the greatest after a long journey. Water pressure in the shower was also less than ideal. Parking was not available, though you could park on the street after 6:30pm until 8:30am

The location of the hotel is excellent, in a pedestrian zone of the city center. Our suite was very spacious, and the bed was extremely comfortable.

Because of the location in a largely pedestrian zone, plan for parking at a distance (in a hilly town) and then transporting luggage. Also, as other reviews noted, the accommodations are a bit dated and show their wear. Finally, there is a bar/cabaret at the end of the accommodations hall on the second floor, and, as such, it felt a bit less secure than accommodations with monitored and locked lobbies/restricted access to hotel rooms.

The visit was fine, the water seemed to take forever to heat up, but that aside it was a nice room, comfortable etc, my only issue was the parking, I was told the parking was possible on the street outside, but then I found out hours later i would have to have moved my car by 6am I think it was to avoid some issue or other. I realise this is not the hotel's fault, but would have been nice to know when I arrived is my only point. Otherwise nice stay right in the middle of town, coudln;t ask for much more

Theere is a side alley past th hotel which of course kids use and shout up alte at night, again nothing the hotel can do but just be aware when you stay is all.

Lovely, comfortable, and clean accommodations in centuries old building. There is street noise of revelers late into the night, but that is to be expected when you have the luck to have a view onto the High Street. Excellent location in the center of Guildford. Drawback to location is the difficulty of parking and even of loading or unloading luggage - the road is blocked to traffic most of the day. Staff was exceptionally helpful and even helped us with our luggage all the way to the car park. Would stay again.
