The ambience of the place is perfect. Character building, beautifully maintained, spacious pub, beer garden and restaurant. Super lovely staff, the bar staff were so nice as was the friendly ladies we met in the morning Dawn and Angneta (sorry if wrong !). The room, the Queen room, was so cosy and stylish with the timber beams bringing out the character of the building. The breakfast, a continental, we were able to take to our rooms so could relax. It far exceeded my expectations of a continental. With beautifully presented yoghurt and granola pots and smoked salmon and meats, a lovely selection of pastries.. fruits..really nice. My favourite place to stay so far ..

The pizza choice and quality could of been better.

The continental breakfast was fine and plenty of variation to choose from. The room was spacious and comfortable The atmosphere of the place is friendly and the staff very helpful and welcoming Parking is easy and the pub/hotel looks very inviting with the spectacular display of flowers in window boxes Quality of food excellent and a good menu

It's a long climb up the staircase and I was on the top floor not a problem for young people but would not appeal to older folk. Could do with a lift installation. The location is not great for shops or attractions unless you have a car that is

The breakfast was not a traditional cooked breakfast, but it was still very nice with various choices.

However, we came down to breakfast on the last morning at about 9.45 (15 minutes before it closed) and it was not stocked well at all. This was frustrating and disappointing. We paid for B&B and if we come to the breakfast room before the finish of breakfast, as stipulated, we should have the same as anyone who came earlier. Also, although we only stayed two nights, and so we would not expect the linen to be changed, we would expect our tea/coffee/milk/sugar to be refilled daily.

Loved the breakfast and staff were very helpful. Room service was excellent, as was the room size. Lovely decor and tidy well kept. Meal downstairs was delicious and generous.. loved the setting with old photos and pictures .. gave a great relaxed nostalgic feel…..a 10 minute walk to the train station was very handy too.

The beds were very firm almost too hard to comfortably sleep on. The little green light on the ceiling was a bit too bright for the eyes at night 😵‍💫 Shower could have been cleaner in corners.. stairs quite steep.

Beautiful pub with amazing atmosphere. Staff were so welcoming after such a long journey. Room was small but comfortable with everything we needed. Bed was really comfortable. We missed breakfast but we're made a cup of hot drink complimentary. We had stayed due to a family funeral and the staff were so kind. Bar was well stocked with non alcohol drinks which was a nice surprise. Food was lovely. Car park was a bonus but also near to tube if needed.

Literally nothing to write hear, great hotel and we will stay again.

We were made very welcome on arrival. Throughout our short stay the staff were very friendly and helpful. Had an excellent lunch on arrival. The room was comfortable and very clean as was the whole establishment. Very good continental breakfast. Ease of parking was a bonus

Unfortunately, because of the warm weather we had to leave the window open and being on a main road (with speed bumps) it was very noisy at times - this is NOT the establishments fault. Only slight criticism we had of the room was that there was no chair - something which older people need at times.

Lovely clean bright room. Great shower and loads of hot water. Lovely staff, great bar and well thought out breakfast. Very comfy bed and warm atmosphere in the pub.. Easy to control, responsive heating.. Easy access to public transport systems for Central London

The pub noise at midnight. Unfortunately the patrons hung around after the bar closed but we have to accept it was a pub after all. Noisy traffic outside but as we live in the countryside we're probably noise sensitive ..Would still return

Very nice pub/restaurant with rooms of which the rooms were very spacious and quiet, my room even had a small outside terrace. The bed was big and comfy and the room was spacious with a separate en suite with great shower! The staff were amazing, friendly and helpful and I would definitely go back to stay here again! The ambiance in the bar/restaurant was excellent and even played Bingo in the evening which was fun, didn't win though!

No cooked breakfast as just continental but good selection of things and very nice coffee!

Pub & room was lovely & friendly staff. Our only regret was not having time to eat there as the food looked lush!! Will deffo stay there again! Thank you!

There was two things. Cold water pressure was low & the hot tap was pretty hot & continental breakfast was nice, but needed topping up as on the 2nd morning we were a little later than the first morning (9.30 & we knew that breakfast finished at 10), but the nice stuff was gone, strawberrys & pan de chocolate🥲.....but no biggy & Im nitpicking because we couldnt really find fault in our stay overall.

Quiet location about 11 miles from London city centre.. I was driving and access to London was easy enough... A large car park and plenty of spaces around the back of the pub.... As the name suggests... The royal oak is a beautiful pub... with a beautiful comfortable feel about it... I arrived at dinner time so check in was at the bar with a friendly young lady... Who then showed us to our room... The room was very beautiful and spacious.... very clean and excellent facilities... Large double.. wardrobe.. mirror and table with tea and coffee making facilities... Complimentary Spring water and biscuits were also available... Ensuite bathroom... with a shower.... again complementary shower gel and body wash was available... Unfortunately we didn't visit the pub or experience its menu... But looked like a very good menu and prices seemed reasonable for London... Breakfast was in the price of the room... Continental style buffet served down stairs in the bar... Nice way to start the day... Overall we had a very enjoyable experience and would definitely return and recommend The royal oak....
