Sonder The Monarch

My friend and I loved our room, especially the beds! The pillows and comforter were marvelous. We appreciated the location of our room in building 6, away from the other buildings. We also enjoyed the patio in the evening. The room exceeded our expectations.

We did not appreciate the parking policy. There were hardly any cars in the parking lot, yet we were encouraged to buy a parking permit. None of the other cars in the lot had permits. We bought the permit because we got the impression from a text the day before our stay that parking was a challenge and that we may not be able to find a spot even on the street! When we asked for a refund at the front desk, the concierge initially said she would refund our money and then rescinded her offer. Considering the rest of our stay was so pleasant, this was unfortunate.

I stayed here for five weeks for work. The rates were amazing! The place is gorgeous, and the Superior King room has its own LIVING ROOM and it makes a huge difference instead of just walking into a room with a bed! Sadly, the rates have increased and it’s no longer in my budget. It’s now close to $380 instead of $220-$250 for three nights. The pool is gorgeous, and the views from the rooms of the pool are usually very nice. It’s literally half a block from Old Town, but Old Town is gimicky and overpriced.

Only things I didn’t like is there are no microwaves, and all the fridges (I stayed in four different rooms) are very very weak. Barely cool anything.

great location walking to old town Scottsdale. plenty of space/size of the front, bed and bathrooms. Great access to all the amenities and facilities....pool, gym, extra coffee...etc

we had a dripping showerhead...crazy how loud a water drip can be in the middle of the night. You can hear it even with the door close. We had settled in and didn't want people fixing it during our stay....so just lived with it. Pool party: beware of loud music playing and booming til 10PM on the weekends at the pool. This start around noon and on...even on Sundays. Take note if you're requesting a room near the pool.

it was reasonably priced and had good amenities. but lacking upkeep and maintenance. half of the ice machines didn’t have ice. stair well dirty. not inviting need microwave in rooms

the music that shook the building on sat and Sunday was to loud and only serves the few not the many. i do business consulting work and there were improvements that could make this property 5 star easy. maintenance plan, a better customer care level from staff that is on site. elevator was out 3 out of the 7 days.

Great location! We loved that we could walk to different restaurants and shops. Good size room. AC worked great, with so much heat during our stay it was very nice to enter a cool room.

The mini fridge didn't work. We had to fill the bucket of ice to keep our drinks cold. We also couldn't find the closet with supplies when we ran out of toilet paper. I went to check with the front desk but every time I went nobody was there, we ended up buying more toilet paper our self.

The pool with DJ, Bar and towels available at your convenience, great staff, rooms were perfect in size, comfy beds, restaurant on site. Location was a plus and the price of room is great! Definitely would stay again! Thank you Sonder of Monarch!!!!

Not horrible..... Just the pools needed a bit of cleaning, and cabana's needed just a bit of sprucing up,....

The space, amenities, and ambience of the hotel.

My door did not have a storm guard. When the people cut the grass, leave flew into the unit. Other than that, it was a great stay

Booking was a little quirky. Like the no check in, going right to our room. Pools were in a nice setting. Close to restaurants and shopping.

Barn door on bathroom didn't close all the way. A/C unit was very loud.

The walls were all scratched up and marked up. We couldn’t move the barn door to bathroom to have privacy. You could hear the people above walking back and forth, sounded like some dragging stuff!

The hotel was very clean and neat. The room was very easy to find.

The walls seemed very thin, could hear other people and their conversations.
