Palm Canyon Hotel and RV Resort

Very close to Anza-Borrego State Park and amenities in town (just be aware restaurants and stores shut down around 7PM). Easy check-in/out. Parking spaces right next to the stairs. The hotel had a cute western theme. Spacious room. I found empty coffee packages in my room and when I informed the staff, they were very quick to bring me new packages of coffee.

Because of the wooden slat decks on the upper floor and close proximity of the rooms, you could hear your neighbors walking around and could hear them closing the doors, could hear children running around, etc. Thin walls. I noticed a couple of the wooden slats were loose. That was it really, just some occasional noise. Bring earplugs if you are noise-sensitive.

Location and the uniqueness of the resort buildings. Well kept exterior grounds. Large room. Really fluffy towels.

The door lock system didn't seem to work well and the door needed to be shoved to open - found out after a another guest help us. So many little screaming kids in the pool almost was unbearable and biking past room on board walk, one hit me. I would have checked out except it was paid for and a hassle. I wish I had a room far, far away from the pool. No mountain views, at least on the first floor. As much as l liked it as above, I would not book again. Check in staff said they would call when the room was ready but never did.

Room was clean, comfortable, and everything worked. Having 3 pool/spa areas was very convenient. Parking near room was very easy because of so many spaces. The property is in immaculate condition. The housekeeping and maintenance staff were in constant motion and it really reflects on how nice the property is.

We had 4 individual rooms and none had door hangars to request or pass on house cleaning service. My first floor room, E147, had a large patio that is falling apart. We didn't use it much but it is in very rough shape. Hopefully it's on the refurbishing list.

Staff very friendly and check in and check out was quick. We have been there on two other occasions so we were familiar with the hotel and the area. Planning to stay there again when we visit the area again. Since we go primarily to view the night sky the location of this hotel is just perfect, and it is so close to the park as well. The grounds and the room are always so clean. We always enjoy our stay at this property! Thank you, Laurie P.

Can't think of a thing!

The nice thing is that they have two pools. I saw many children really enjoying themselves because of the Wild West decor, old wagons and other "artifacts" of the Old West. Some French families were there and their kids were really having fun.

No views from the room of the exceptional landscape of the surrounding area. But that could have just been the room that I got. The area is quiet majestic. There are many steps and stairways. So you have to be careful.

The hotel has decorations so it looks like an old western town. Staff was friendly and helpful. Due to Covid, no daily maid service but housekeeping brought supplies like coffee and towels up on request. We didn’t use the pool due to covid. The on-site restaurant has things like burgers and soft-serve ice cream. But the center of town is a short drive away and has some good food. We enjoyed the Mexican food and western breakfasts in town.

I liked it. Mind you, not super fancy but cozy and fun-spirited. Natural desert beauty all around

This hotel is excellent in terms of location, price, quietness, cleanliness and facilities! It is perfect for an overnight stay as well as for a longer vacation in wonderful desert surroundings. The staff are friendly, the rooms are spacious (we stayed in a deluxe queen unit) and extra clean, and service/room facilities are top notch. We will definitely return for a longer stay next time.

The only complaint we had was the television/cable. Reception was very poor, audio quality was garbled, and we could only get a few of the stations listed in the guide provided. The A/C was fairly noisy, too, as it cycled on and off, but it worked well and didn't dry out the air too much. We were able to open the windows later in the evening, which was a real plus.

This is an extremely comfortable and perfectly located hotel complex, with a great deal of character. The pools are lovely (particularly as it was very quiet during our stay), the restaurant convenient and the food (burgers) good – we were able to sit outside with heaters which we really appreciated. Just on the edge of the park, and also close to restaurants in town.

Much to our surprise the windows didn't open in our room. Fortunately we had a patio and so could open the doors during the day, but we would have liked to have an open window at night. Would also be nice to have more towel racks. Otherwise great.

It was very close to Anza Borrego State Park and had western charm. The room was spacious and the balcony area was great. The front desk was very good about communicating with us via text messages and checking to see if things were alright.

The bed was quite firm, and my husband woke up with intense back pain. Also, a staff member at check-in was VERY adamant about us not misusing the keycard. I am not sure if that was necessary.

It was no frills with the rooms but they were clean and had a mini fridge and microwave if you bring a few items. There aren't many options for dining so it's great that there's a good restaurant and bar onsite, as well as a little gift shop with some snack and drink options too.

The walls are paper thin and ours had a joining door which made it even worse. The family next to us was super loud - the kids were either screaming or crying... and whenever they left, their dog would bark nonstop. That part sucked so we played music or blasted our TV to cover it up. We weren't in much except during the day on Sat when the wind was a bit intense but they were of course as well.
