The hospitality from Sarah and Reyna makes you feel at home. Both are very attentive to your needs and sweet about it. Place is neatly organized it felt clean and safe.

We recently had a family vacation to Quiet Mind Retreat in Julian, California, and it was incredible! We were searching for a quiet and calm getaway with my husband, our two kids, and myself, and this property surpassed our expectations. The retreat is located on Lake Cuyamaca and offers breathtaking views of the lake and the mountains in the area. Our spacious suite, which had all the conveniences we required for a peaceful stay, was ideal for our family of four. Our children loved the hot tub and the pool table room, and we really appreciated using the gym. The yoga and meditation classes for families that were provided at the retreat were one of the highlights of our stay.This was such a wholesome and connected experience for our family and we actually plan to do daily yoga as a family going forward! The staff even organized a picnic for my daughters birthday and she was simply delighted to have a birthday cake and lunch and her own suprise picnic by the lake! We enjoyed breakfast every morning. The staff was friendly and did their best to provide a nice start to the day. We liked the fresh fruit, yogurt, "overnight oatmeal" and baked goods. Coffees and tea were great and available anytime of the day (or night probably) that you might want to enjoy. Breakfast area had many books to look at; the views over the lake and mountain area were lovely. Lots of good hiking and walking areas so close by, plus the town of Julian is just a short and scenic drive away.

Part of the driveway needs a little bit of work and maybe attention to some of the landscaping; however, with so much beauty to see all around and with the hot tub and other amenities, we had no complaints.

The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We loved the four-poster bed which had a great mattress and really soft sheets. The check in is really easy and it is close to hiking and nature. It is also a very short drive to Julian. Very affordable. Customer service is great.

There seemed to be an excessive number of texts, emails etc wanting you to call and talk with them about their extra services and specials. One or two would be fine but it was close to 8 which an insistence on wanting to talk with you. We still had a great time and would not hesitate to come back.

The property was at a great location and stunning views. The staff was kind and very attentive.

Unfortunately our shower only had warm water both days of using it. It wasn’t so cold that you couldn’t shower, however it wasn’t hot enough to take a relaxing shower. The walls are very thin. You can hear doors opening and closing, people talking and walking in the hall, but despite that we slept great since no one is really roaming the halls past 9pm. The “filtered” water that was in the kitchen had a really off taste to it. I’m not a picky water drinker, but I really couldn’t drink the water. I reached out to concierge to purchase a large perrier water from the room service list, however they were out. Next time I’d just be sure to bring my own jug of water for the stay.

We came so my wife could witness a morning with falling snow for the first time. She is a native of Cabo San Lucas. We were not disappointed. There is a good sized balcony with a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. Snow began to fall about 8 as we drank some coffee. There was a comfy couch facing the view. The heating system worked perfectly keeping the room warm. The bathroom had a jacuzzi tub. I like those because I don’t like to breathe the clorine fumes. Everything was clean. The bed was very comfortable. Awesome place to stay! Thanks to Sarah at the front desk! Also the lady that takes care of the breakfast bar!

Everything was great!

The rooms were very comfortable and the views were very beautiful. The whole retreat was very peaceful and calm. We loved the robes in the room and the balcony. We also enjoyed the spa, very relaxing. The customer service was very good too. We were welcomed and given the opportunity to book services and treatments when I booked the room. Also, when we were there, they communicated via text, enabling us to reach out when needed and stay informed, but not feel intudeded on.

We would have liked an internal bolt or lock for the door, but the locks they had kept us secure. The housekeeping was lacking slightly. The floor in the room looked like it needed vacuuming, and our coffee station had used empty creamer containers on it. However, towels and bedding were good, so we didn't complain. I think they were short on staff and did the best they could overall.

Location was great, complimentary breakfast was very good with nice healthy selections, bed was comfortable, in room amenities were good. Privacy was good, quiet atmosphere was very nice,

general upkeep/maintenance on the property, like potholes, uneven gravel paths, weed abatement. Furniture not too comfortable for seniors. Steps up to the jacuzzi need handrail for safety

- the location is super nice. We hiked around the lake before check in. It's a nice 1 hour walk. P.s. Don't forget to pay $10 Lake fee. - we reserved Queen Suite with Spa Bath. The room was pretty big and comfortable. Huge balcony and bathroom with jacuzzi and shower. We really loved bathroom robes! - it was clean very in the room. We loved how comfortable was the bed - breakfast was pretty yummy with good selections of food. - the night sky was amazing!

The only minus was the weak main door in our room. When dinner was cooked, we got all smells in our room. Also, we can hear everyone in the common area.

The location and the view were unmatched. The room faced the lake which was breathtaking and beautiful. The location is in a nice quiet area away (10-15 min drive) from town, but still a close enough drive to enjoy the town of Julian. The staff were very nice and helpful. I like how they communicated through text throughout the day to make sure all needs and concerns were met/addressed. Very peaceful stay.

The decor (curtains) could use a few updates. I would love to feel as if I'm staying the night at a spa (i.e. Burke Williams, Glen Ivy). The red curtains felt too strong of a color for windows in a bedroom. I would suggest softer colors (tan, white, etc.,)
