Short on sleep due to late flights into L.A., this little motel and its comfy bed was a welcome relief from the outdated chain lodge (last resort) stayed in the night before, or any chain hotel (almost), for that matter. It felt old school, because you can park right outside your room door. No searching for spots and lugging suitcases. I also utilized both of the master sinks! The rooms are well laid-out with plenty of space, and cleaner than most. It was very comfortable and had lots of reading material, too. As purported in other reviews, the couple owners were friendly, and I also found them welcoming and knowledgeable about the location, history and where to get a great delivery pizza. With a glass of wine and a full tummy, the dog (my also-exhausted traveling partner who didn't drink wine) and I slept a good 11 hours at the motel. The I-5 is within earshot and closer, but that didn't make a difference. It added to the quaintness. I felt like I was in Americana. The town of Cottonwood also makes for great walks, and shopping in their pleasant grocery store (across the bridge) with a tip from the motel's room cleaner was fun. But no postcards, sadly. I might have to make some with the photos I shot. Thank you to Travelers Motel for being such great hosts.

Nothing to dislike

The room was large and clean. The beds were comfortable. It was very convenient for our road trip. The property was well managed. The staff were friendly. It was a good basic motel and a good night's sleep.

It's right off the highway and not a particularly pretty location or building. The room and furniture are very basic. But it's clean and comfortable and a good value.

Great location, friendly service and excellent rate. While heading home from Burney falls we got a flat and needed to find something fast. We are so happy they had availability with enough room for my large family. It was clean, safe, and had laundry facilities on site. We will definitely remember this gem when we travel back that direction.

Really no complaints... The only thing that would have made it better is if AC was on prior to arrival. The room was super hot for a bit. However, I understand not running it at all times.

Nice place with clean and spacey room (we lived in the Deluxe one). Not so expensive. Nice and friendly hosts. Kitchen with coffee machine. Bathroom with all the needed towels.

Although having the kitchen, there were no spoons / forks / knives etc. But I asked the hosts for some cutlery and was provided the needed things. Also only one cup for coffee, while the room can be used for the whole family - also it makes sense to provide at least two cups.

Traveler's Motel works really well for us as a stopover on our way back to Canada after a stay in southern California. It's only a couple of minutes off the I-5 and the signage or your GPS gets you there without trouble. The hosts are friendly and welcoming and the room is clean, comfortable, and has everything we need for our one-night stay.

I was pleased with the room inside and how clean it was. They took extra care to have everything in the room I would need. It had a microwave and a small refrigerator, TV and internet. It even had q-tips and the linens were crisp and clean and white. Karen at the front desk was wonderful and made sure the air conditioner in the room was cooled before we arrived. I would highly recommend this motel as it was extremely affordable and close to the freeway!!

Travelers Motel is a small family owned & run motel off I5 in Cottonwood. The owner is hands-on and is friendly & personable with a sense of humor. There are a lot of sensible touches to the room that make it convenient for guests, like dual sinks (in our room) & well-placed outlets. The bath & shower were recently updated and are excellent & the air conditioner worked well.

It's close to I5, so road noise might be an issue for some, but with the windows closed was almost inaudible to me.

Cozy motel with very nice staff. We had a very spacious room, clean, comfortable beds and pillows. Air conditioning quite loud but ok. The motel is situated very close to the highway so you can hear cars but not very bothersome. There is a very good restaurant across the street, we had a tasty and rich breakfast there. The surrounding of the motel are well-kept, there is even a special place for a walk with the dog.

The owners were so nice and had everything ready for us when we arrived. The property was great. Good location just 15 minutes from Redding and right off the Cottonwood exit.

My only complaint was the shower head being low. My niece and I are fairly tall and we had to bend down to wash our hair. Everything else was Great!

When I first arrived, I was met by Alicia, and she immediately made me feel welcome. I had been driving all day, I was worn out, but I still needed to find a Christmas present. Alicia and Robin, the owners, set out to help me find places that were open, and even offered me a gift that Robin had given Alicia. To say I was amazed by this, is an understatement. They directed me to a place where I could find a gift, at almost 9 p.m., on Christmas Eve, and helped save my Christmas. The room, was incredible. It was very clean, and they put out brochures to help travelers, and even had a Christmas card in the room if you needed to use one. Perhaps one of my favorite aspects, is there was a small loaf of spice bread, DELICIOUS, in the room, perfect to have with your morning coffee. I was able to do laundry, and while I was getting myself prepared to leave, I ran into Alicia and she asked me if I was able to find a gift. I thought it was awesome how they made me feel welcome, and like I was an old friend. If I am anywhere in their vicinity and need a room, I will, without question or hesitation stay there again, especially considering the price was great too.
