We liked the whole experience :) our room was clean, had a balcony,we could see water, the staff was excellent in every way and cannot beat the area for the price. It's an older hotel but it was a wonderful stay and one day (I hear not too far in the future ) it too will close, as many of our epic and history rich marina side hotels have been the last few years and something most of us won't be able to afford will replace it..... we're going to stay here More for little staycations. Christina was very kind, professional, informative and genuinely loves her job. The facility has comfortable rooms a work out facility and nice pool / jacuzzi w Cabanas. The complimentary breakfast in the morning is fresh, delicious and convenient. We love how the hotel is so close to the Marina, shops, parks and walking trails. I have taken my daughters here several times now because it's the best value in town. We absolutely love it here. All of the staff are so nice and appear to love their Jobs.

Good parking. Great location! Breakfast was better that most. seating in breakfast area was roomy. Beds and bedding was nice. Staff were attentive and helpful. A/C quiet and cooled nicely. I loved the wall art in my room as well as the rest of the Inn. entryway to the Inn was Beautifully landscaped as was the rest of the grounds.

no hot water in bathroom sink. water pressure in shower and sink were barely adequate. Sink and tub fixtures were a bit corroded and rusty. Carpeting was minimal not plush. Sliding screen door didn’t lock. Toilet paper holder was something you’d find in a cheap motel. Elevator worked well but made funny noises.

Such a beautiful, nostalgic treasure! The location was amazing! The hotel was charming and well kept, such an amazing find! I hope to visit this historic gem many many times! I'm so tired of the new modern, boring hotels. This one is absolutely my new favorite! It has so much personality and charm. So many shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel's front patio was so relaxing and peaceful. The towering hibiscus by the entrance were covered in blossoms. The pool and its surrounding furniture was comfortable and clean. Jimmy's Famous American Tavern and BRIG were the best! Both are literally across the street from our room, which also gave us a stunning view of the pool and harbor. Nearby Captain Dave Whale Watching is within walking distance along a darling marina walk. I'm a huge fan of the Dana Point Marina Inn! The staff are simply the nicest people! What a genuine and unique find!!

Very peaceful and relaxing. We loved seeing the marina right thrre. The breakfast was lovely and kept up perfectly....great eating area and patio. The best self service breakfast that I have seen in a long time. They even offered chocolate chips and strawberries for the waffles :) Every room has a balcony. I would definitely come back. Great staff.

No Kleenex box in the room. Only one bar of soap. No conditioner to go with the shampoo. I was awoken at 8am by a toddler in the room upstairs running around......it was LOUD and lasted over 30 min. Maybe families with children should be given the first floor if possible? It is an older property a bit creaky which isn't an issue unless there is noise happening upstairs. Ice machine grate was missing making it hard to coordinate using the room key and vessel for the ice.

Great Location—on the harbor. Walk next door and along harbor for lots of restaurants choices, beach shops and water sports. A Park and sand beach a block away—short walk. Breakfast buffet with a number of hot/cold choices I woke to a foggy morning (after a beautiful sunny day the day before). The staff gave me late checkout as I was hoping to take a swim before I departed. I shared the pool w/ a “local”—see photos ;)

Older building/strange layout, but my room was quite large

Had a great time. Christine at the front desk is always pleasant and goes out of her way to make sure we had a pleasant stay. Examples include we arrived early and let us use restroom and pool before our room was ready. She also came out 2 hours early to let us know our room was ready.

Only thing was the first day the pool was too cold but next day it was perfect. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.

Both people at the front deak were so nice. Shannon even told us about local places that were in walking distance to get dinner. I had been wanting to stay there for years and I'm so glad I finally got to. They also provided breakfast - which was great! We three sisters had a wonderful time.

The only thing I didn't like was having to pay for parking. The parking lot was great and they may have security too, I just hate having to pay extra for parking.

the breakfast was fair for me, I could eat the eggs and fruit. The outside area was very nice to sit and eat. The bed was fabulous, everyone was very nice, helpful.

I didnt like how sensitive the key cards were, I had to hike to the front a few times..... they were 12" away from my phone in a bag and would clear. Also didnt care to be approached by the non guests coming in to get free breakfast or walking the halls. The back door on the northwest side was open alllll day, they would come in and use the laundry room too. That is fine, but for the price it would have been nice to not worry about walking to my room alone.

The location was excellent. Even better? The young woman, Christine, at the front desk. I was traveling with my Lady Friend and aunt. My aunt needed a handicap room and Christine made sure it was on the 1st floor and near my room. She personally went and inspected the room to make sure it was up to snuff. I travel often and I have never seen such dedication and pride, you might want to give her a big fat raise because of her, I will be back to this hotel.
