Loved the unique style of the hotel, the neighborhood and the restaurant, which has delicious food! The staff was very friendly at all times and the views from the rooftop bar are amazing.

The shower was terrible to navigate and hard to get the room warm - but otherwise, no further comments!

The hotel is stylish, the staff are great, friendly, helpful. Both restaurants were good, the breakfast/coffee bar for the morning perfect to grab a coffee and go. The room was clean and comfortable, I didn't get to use the balcony as it was a little on the chilly side but if the weather had been better I'd have done so. I travelled and stayed 5 nights for work. A very chilled out stay which was great once inside the hotel.

I liked everything about the hotel. Would I go back..? No, due to the location, I wouldn't go back. I didn't have a car and therefore was either on foot or taxi. Going out after dark was strongly advised against and for a good reason, I was agressively approached 3 times on a 2 minute walk along the the street, the homeless situation is off the scale, these people are desperate and have nothing to lose. Not the hotels fault at all, but personally, I wouldn't stay again in the area, I didn't feel comfortable and couldn't go out and explore restaurants or shops without feeling threatened more than once.

Rooftop area was fun though hard to get a seat. Atmosphere fun overall. Suitcase hold while we explored was great. Staff lovely.

Beds should be higher (hard for older folks to get up and down). Coffee and Tea should be complementary. Continental breakfast would be even better. Neighborhood not safe for single female traveler.

We booked a room with 2 queen beds and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the beds and room. Tastefully decorated with cute little touches throughout, all to make customers comfortable during their stay. We loved how friendly the staff were, from front desk, cafe to the rooftop bar. The building is pretty cool, with historical features and quirky updates. Housekeeping came daily, the room was exceptionally clean. Outstanding service throughout our stay. We felt safe as 2 female travellers in the hotel and in the immediate area. Plenty to do and lots of cool places to eat within a block or 2 of the hotel. DTLA is easy to navigate and to avoid areas which are undesirable. With 24h staff at the hotel’s front desk, we were reassured we’d be safe.

First time in LA and booked here after a friend recommended it. The rooftop bar is phenomenal with the most incredible view of the city, I would book again solely for the rooftop. The staff were really friendly and helpful - I asked for a room change because our room had an open shower and my friend and I wanted a private shower, they upgraded us for free and we’re so sweet about it. The food at the restaurant is really nice and well priced as well, some of the best food I had on 3.5 week US trip. Its got a nice variety of cafes and restaurants around the area all within a 5-10min walk. The aesthetic of the hotel was really nice.

Skid row is close by, the area around the hotel smells, area didn’t feel safe, the bed was average in comfort but really low to the ground and the bedding wasn’t the softest/nicest, the shower pressure wasn’t great, rooms are smaller than expected.

I loved the staff. They were very supportive and helpful with different issues or questions I had. WiFi was great, tv connected to my netflix very easily, easy navigation. Room service was great and I was also able to order food delivered straight to my door from various locations and at late hours.Comfortable facilities. Location was easy to find on map for navigation and access to bus lines or metro.

If travelling solo, downtown LA is not a safe choice. There was also too much noise at night, and the hotel windows were not thick enough to cancel external noise. The room was a bit dark for my taste. Lighting is not centralised.

We liked the retro feel of the hotel, the amazing theatre built into the place. Always something going on every night and the mood was very happy. The rooftop bar although quite small was really nice and the views of the city were excellent.

I would have preferred that the room had double glazing as the noise from outside at times was quite loud. a number time times throughout our stay the cars in the evening would be revving their engines or playing loud music, better windows would have mitigated against this. We'd also have preferred darker curtains but we managed pretty well.

The Ace is a lovely hotel. I love the history, the architectural design and the chill vibe inside. The hotel staff are always friendly and the rooms are unique, clean and comfortable. I typically stay here to attend events at the Convention center, Ace Theater or the Orpheum.

Unsafe conditions all around, outside of the hotel. As a single female traveler, it's a risk to do anything at night. I have been coming to this hotel for years and it has absolutely gotten worse. I don't expect the Ace Hotel to do anything about crime in the surrounding area, but it is concerning.

We just LOVED This hotel - The Design and authenticity of the staff was fantastic. Easy to get to the heart of town from here - we visited Hollywood, Hikes, Downtown Galleries easily with local transport/metro. The restaurant on site is a little pricey - but the coffee is totally worth it, and a great way to start your LA Day with breakfast outside watching the world.

The bed was huge, but not the most comfortable, though credit to the staff for making our room ready for us a little earlier with our early am flights. The location is easy for sports arena, etc - but can be a little sketchy at night walking round.

Room was small but sufficient for an overnight stay. Parking was expensive. Roof top bar served every dish with chips - chips & guac; ceviche & chips; shrimp cocktail with chips. Bartender wasn't knowledgable. Asked for a Mai Tai and he asked if I wanted a classic one or a fruity one. I stated I wanted a classic one. What I got was not what I ordered. At time time ever does a Mai Tai have grapefruit juice in it. When I realized a couple of sips in that it contained grapefuit juice, I had to push it to the side. My medications interact with grapefruit juice. That was like $15 down the drain.

Pillows were hard and each of us only got one pillow. Shower knobs were difficult to figure out
