This hotel was beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly. Honestly, the outside does not do it justice. Looking at the outside from google it looked like a “meh” hotel. The rooms were so clean and updated though. Everything was comfortable and spacious. I can’t believe they were priced so well. Everything is locked up safe.. walked across the street to have breakfast on the boardwalk every morning. I don’t have a single bad thing to say and we were there for 3 days.

The parking was very tight. I was worried I would back into one of the parallel cars.. but it still better than paying a parking meter.

It’s an old motel that is being remodeled. Our room had been updated but still signs of the old motel feel.

The view from the room was great! We had our own little table and chairs on the patio overlooking the ocean. Nice for an afternoon drink in the sun. The location was awesome! 10 min walk to the pier and nice restaurants in the area. The shower was great and the room was nice and clean. There's also a convenience store just around the corner which was handy.

The A/C was so loud we had to turn it off at night so we could sleep. We stayed over the weekend so the loud bikes and cars driving down the street on Saturday night kept us up but they stopped before midnight. It was fine on Sunday though.

Good location overlooking beach front. Short walk to pier & town centre. Secure parking. Room clean and comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff.

The location is great, right next to the beach, only about 15 min walk to the pier and the center/shopping area of Santa Monica. The bike location right at the hotel is super convenient. On the day we arrived, we were able to check in the room earlier (9am instead of 4pm), which was much appreciated after a long flight. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. We weren’t sure about the rate difference between Booking.com and the balance at the hotel, so the manager gave us a discount to settle it 👍 The room is well equipped with even make up removal wipes with vitamin E.

Not much to complain really. The coffee from the room’s coffee machine wasn’t very much to our taste and complementary water bottles would have been appreciated.

I was surprised in a good way with this hotel. The location is just perfect, it has a view to palms, ocean and outstanding sunsets. staff is very nice. also I liked the room - I didn't expect so much cleanness in a bathroom, it was like renovated just before our arrival - so clean, so new, so comfortable and pleasant. bed was comfy, TV worked. Hotel has bike rental but we haven't had a chance to try it. definitely would stay again, no doubts!!!

I had problems with wi-fi connection, but eventually I succeed with staff help. our room had yard-view (not ocean view), but anyway - observe that crazy sunsets through a window glass is a crime, so I wasn't upset about this.

Loved the location, right by the beach very close to Santa Monica Pier. Parking available if you planned on hiring a car which I thought is a great option for travellers as parking can be rater difficult in LA. The room was small, but it met our needs for our 1-night stay. The check in experience was great and I would recommend this hotel to friends and family if they were to travel.

I don't have any negative feedback on this hotel. I was happy with my 1 night stay at Bayside.

The location is very good. The ocean is close by and you can walk to it. The security was very secure, as I had to touch my card key twice to enter the room. The man at the reception counter was kind enough to let me keep my luggage for a long time before check-in and after check-out, which allowed me to sightsee with less luggage. They provided beach towels and beach bags, which was very helpful for going to the beach.

Bathrooms are small and cramped. It is a simple shower only. The lighting is small and dark, so it was a little inconvenient to bathe my child.

Location is great, close to the beach, pier, restaurants and bars. It's an easy walk or cycle down to Venice beach and we also rented bikes from the reception and cycled in the other direction which has more beautiful beaches.

There were road works in front of the hotel but that can't be helped. The hotel was also a bit more expensive than we'd usually like for 2 nights but it's good value for a Santa Monica hotel that's beside the beach.

The location was really great, the rooms are very spacious and comfortable, the shower was really nice too. The staff were friendly and super accommodating. The flexible cancellation was also a major benefit to us when plans changed. Also parking...very beneficial!

The pictures on the website are a little misleading, do not expect a private balcony or terrace, it's more a walkway which surprised us especially for the rate. But otherwise a fantastic place to stay in Santa Monica.
