Sanctuary Beach Resort

To be able to have an Ocean front room , was a plus . To enjoy the sounds of the waves. To be able to enjoy a cup of coffee in the am and Wine in the sunset . To be able to bring our dog and take her for nice walks at the beach . Very nice and peaceful sanctuary . This is one of our favorite spot in Cali.

A Big group of guests had loud music and took over the whole Play court . We could not even enjoyed that area during the couple of days . Some dog owners will not pick up after their dogs or keep dogs on leashes . The location needs a special green area for potty breaks . Not all over the sand .

This is where my husband and I got married. We stay at Sanctuary every year on our wedding anniversary. We stayed in an Oceanfront Suite and it was lovely. Gorgeous views and such a lovely and cozy atmosphere. It is our favorite place to stay in the Monterey bay.

The ants that were all over the floor and the counter in the kitchenette. They were everywhere but luckily maintenance came and took care of it right away.

The view is truly the reason you stay here! To open the door to your room and seeing the ocean takes your breath away. You can lay in your bed and let the ocean soothe your soul. I was able to leave the slider open with the fireplace on; best sleep I have had. Minus the small things I didn't like, I would stay here again.

Staying at the best room at the resort had a beautiful view, truly breath taking. The decor and bathroom lacked pizzazz, was my only small complaint. The desk, small round table, and a small shelf on the wall I called a collection box, looked cheap and had some wear and tear on them. Lacked shelves and electric plugs on the right side of the bed. Finally, the bathroom was nothing special. The shower was mediocre and a small bathtub. I expected more for a room at this price.

The beach views were amazing and the staff phenomenal. It was also fabulous to have the staff pick you up in a golf cart to take you anywhere on the property. Also loved how sweet and welcoming they were to our little dog traveling with us. They even added his name to the welcome sign in the lobby and we were able to eat outside at the restaurant on property w/our dog.

Bed mattress was just too hard for my liking but I rarely find a hotel bed that's comfortable. The linens and pillows were lovely though.

All the staff are extremely friendly. We absolutely love the young man who works diligently bringing us to our room in the golf cart and delivering breakfast every morning. He made us feel welcome and he remembered us from previous stays. LOVE how dog friendly it is here. I am so happy there is a place to come to that realizes our pets are family. A big plus was being able to check in early. Really appreciated that. We will definitely be back again.

This is our 3rd stay here. We stayed in the same room which is the Panoramic Ocean Front Suite. Their most expensive room. I was surprised to see how dirty and worn the room had become in just 2 months The carpet, couch and chair were badly stained. Could not see out one of the windows because it was so dirty. The microwave was no longer in the room. One of the bathroom sinks was clogged. The little extras were not in the room like a wine bottle opener, coffee mugs, or cups. For the price that is being charged it would be nice if there was a little more attention to these little details.

location was awesome. beautiful view from the balcony. room was comfortable for a family of 4.

only downside was the room service/restaurant. breakfast was inconsistent and expensive for what you got. dinner at the restaurant was very disappointing and $$$. service was a hot mess, which i can forgive if the food is great, but it was not. seriously need a new chef. the artichoke and crab dip was terrible! hard to find artichoke in it let alone crab. it was a bowl of under seasoned, undercooked chunks of onion and celery! cioppino had a weird very strong acid flavor and it came with the bread already mushy from being set in the soup. the kids chicken tenders were inedible - so over cooked and flavorless.

For $800/night the room was too small. In spite of putting out the breakfast card , no hot beverages were brought to the room, we were told by hotel staff that we could order just hot tea/coffee and not necessarily the entire breakfast. Our order was ignored, is how we felt. Left several messages, no one cared to answer. For $800/night I think we deserve atleast a call back if not Hot tea/coffee!!!

Amazing beach views and the restaurant was excellent!

Rooms are a little outdated and could use a renovation, but the common spaces and beach are gorgeous.

beautiful location, good (but very expensive) restaurant on site, very friendly and responsive staff, fireplace heater in room, so peaceful and lovely

if in a downstairs unit, you can hear people walking around In upstairs unit. the sliding glass doors with view facing ocean were very dirty which was a shame. the steam from the shower set off the smoke alarm as I didn’t close the door to the bathroom (maybe warn guests to close bathroom door when showering or move smoke alarm).

The Sanctuary Beach Resort is a spectacular hotel with a beautiful view of the ocean. I loved how our room had a direct view of the ocean and the sliding panel doors allowed us the option to let the sea breeze in and listen to the ocean waves or seal it off completely. The location of the resort was quiet and peaceful. We had direct access to the private beach and bonfires. They also provide activities such as a guided walking tour, yoga, and free bike rentals. The room itself was quite simple and nothing extraordinary. There was a beach blanket provided which was very nice to have and bring out to the beach. I did enjoy the complimentary bath supplies sponsored by L'Occitane. One of the days we ordered room service for breakfast. It was cute to see a picnic basket right at our doorstep once we woke up. The staff were very friendly. I especially love the assistance provided by the Indian man at the front desk. I apologize I have forgotten his name but I would like to give him the credit for making our stay pleasurable. He always has a smile on his face and not only answered our questions but provided more advice and information as well.

To get around Sanctuary Beach Resort, you would have to call the front desk and ask for ride on the golf carts. Unfortunately, there was a time when no one showed up after waiting over 20 minutes so we ended up walking down to our car. The TV uses Chromecast and did not work for us at all. The cable channels were alright but it would have been nice to stream something on Netflix or Youtube. For the price you pay, I wish breakfast was included at least.
