Hampton Inn Monterey

For fellow breakfast lovers, their breakfast bar included: waffle-making station, oatmeal, hard-boiled eggs, bread, bagels, a toaster, tiny muffins, cereal, scrambled eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit, juices, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate (perhaps more things that I've forgotten). The room was spacious and comfortable. The location isn't amazing (view of a highway, which was not audible from our room), but just fine if you have a car.

The tap water felt kind of slimy (over-softened?). In the King room, the door to the bathroom is a sliding door that, in our case, was quite squeaky/noisy. Otherwise great!

Every staff member were very courteous at all times. The cleanliness in the room was impeccable, many of the amenities were wrapped in plastic. The hot breakfast was more than I expected, rivals any dinner style restaurant on their best day. Excellent!!!!!!

When compared to other stays in the area, this it’s rather small, and near busy streets, but it more than makes up for it in great service. The busy streets make it convenient for exploring the area, so all in all nothing is perfect.

We stayed during spring break to go to the aquarium and Carmel. It was the perfect location for all of our activities. The rooms and lobby were extremely clean. Breakfast was a great deal! They had eggs, Sasuage, warm oatmeal, bagels, English muffins, toast, muffins and yummy waffles. This hotel was a great value!

We enjoyed everything.

Perfect location, close to downtown Monterey and easy to get in and out of property. Also, parking was free.

The bed was a little firm for me. Not the worst but could be a bit softer.

Clean, nicely decorated with seaside theme and underwater photos.

Powdered eggs for breakfast weren't great, but the rest of the spread had plenty of options. Some road noise, but not too bad.

rooms were big. parking included. clean. not noisy even though we were on the side of busy road.

it was a bit far out from fisherman’s warf, we thought it was a short walk. but wasn’t far by car. having a bar/restaurant would of been handy.

Great location close to everything and right off the freeway. Breakfast assortment was perfect to get the stay started. My family and I felt safe and comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

The beds were very comfortable and we loved how big the bathroom was. Our kids were already asking to come back before ever leaving. Thank you!

We were happy they still had food served, however , the booking site still says hot breakfast offered. Which is a big part of why I booked with this location. I understand with covid, changes had to be made, so maybe update to continental breakfast instead of hot.

For COVID time it was good.

Even though the parking lot was full at night they spread guests out throughout the hotel so we never ran into anyone in the elevator or hallways which was much appreciated. All entrances except the very front one required our room key which made us feel very secure. The location was 2 minutes from Monterey Pines Golf Course where my husband was playing in a tournament.

Room was nice but very pricey. Drive to all the main attractions was all quite a bit out. Found a closer hotel for much less our 2nd night in town. Besides not having breakfast the room was very much comparable.
