The Creekside Inn

My partner and I have stayed here many times in the past, but it has been a while since our last visit (about a year). It is still a lovely and peaceful property and exceptionally clean. The beds are super comfy and there is ample parking, and the property feels very safe.

In the past, I have always marveled at the exceptional customer service. This time, I was not impressed. The person who checked us in, while not rude, just seemed bored and indifferent. She did her job correctly and took all the right "steps" to check us in, but it wasn't a particularly welcoming experience. Also, there are amenities fees now, but it seems like some of the things that we liked most about the hotel are no longer available. Check out used to be at noon, but now it is at 11. We called to see if we could get a late check out and were told "we don't do that on weekends", which also hasn't been the case in the past. The hotel was not at full capacity and we were leaving on a Sunday morning, so a little flexibility would have been appreciated.

Absolutely beautifully landscaped and tranquil setting with a bridge over the creek nearby. Ample parking with fee and areas to sit and visit, work or eat outside. My room and others on the second floor had a private deck and ground floor units had patios. The small business center in the office was a help to print and research materials. Free coffee, tea in office. Electric vehicle charging outside office.

Needed larger under counter refrigerators in all rooms, not just some. Adjacent restaurant was closed and would have been a convenient option but other restaurants are within short driving distance or longer walk were available.

We requested a ground floor room. We were told upon arrival that we would have a room on the second floor with an elevator. I wish I knew the woman's name who stepped in to make the change but we were moved to a ground floor room. I was having surgery and need to have quick access. She seemed to understand the importance and stepped in.

The room was noisy, hearing the steps from room above and doors slamming.

We enjoyed The Creekside Inn so much that we ended up returning here for a second long weekend. This place feels more like a hotel than a motel. The second weekend we reserved a room overlooking the creek It didn't feel like we were in the city. We could hear the water flowing and there were even ducks. Well worth upgrading to creek view room if you have time to enjoy sitting outside. . (put on mosquito repellent) ✅ There are washers and dryers on-site. ✅ There is a good deli/market on-site where you can also get espresso. ✅ It's easy to get to stores and restaurants by car since it is close to the main road. ✅ The staff was very pleasant. ✅ They had a room to store our luggage for a few days. ✅ Rooms have a refridgerator and microwave. ✅ There is also coffee and hot water in the lobby.

Our only complaint was that we wish they had explained when we first came about the option of upgrading to a room by the creek.

We traveled to Palo Alto for my mom's surgery at Stanford Medical Center. The location of The Creekside Inn is twelve easy minutes by car from the hospital. Our room had a table and chairs just outside the door so we could comfortably enjoy the grounds from the balcony while my mom rested inside. It was wonderful to have an onsite restaurant and deli/ grocery. The room was clean and comfortable too. Ideal accommodations for anyone having a medical procedure at Stanford.

During our stay the restaurant was only open for dinner. It would have been nice if they were open for breakfast and lunch.

I thought the property was great and well-maintained. Modern updates. Great Malin and Goetz bath products. The bed was extremely comfortable and the property was quiet. Loved the patio! Only thing I wish we would’ve had was a running creek outside! I thought maybe all the snow and rain this past season in CA would’ve translated to a full creek but it was dry as a bone. Easy walk to Stanford and many restaurants etc.

The location was great for our first time going to a sports event at Stanford University. The property was nice and quiet. Our room was very clean and reasonably comfortable.

The bathroom seem to be recently updated and very clean, only thing was no exhaust fan, so when showering everything would have moisture on it, from floors, walls, toilet etc.! Being that it was cold outside (40’s) we weren’t going to open the little window above. lol, but everything else seem to be fine.

The staff was excellent. I’m in town for my daughter to have spinal surgery. They held the room for me an extra day when I didn’t know if I needed it. They let me leave my belongings in the room while I was at the hospital for her surgery. When I told them I didn’t need the room, they charged me a DISCOUNTED rate because housekeeping had gone home or they wouldn’t of made me pay at all. These people are incredible and will be my first choice if I ever need a room in Palo Alto again

We have been looking for a hotel to stay for my ongoing treatment at Stanford Specialty Health Care. The Creekside is perfect. It is reasonably priced with very clean and well appointed rooms. There is a market style deli on the premises with very good food and coffee bar. The staff is congenial and helpful, available 24 hours. About a block away (walking distance) is a great Mexican food restaurant (The Gruellense) and the Hong Kong Chinese restaurant.

Love the trees and oasis in the city.

I thought the “creek” might have water since we’ve had so much rain. It was completely dry in July…. Maybe it is a dry creek, not sure. We paid a bit extra to have creek side… which was disappointing, since there isn’t any flowing creek. Also didn’t have time to use the pool or hut tub but you still have to pay $15 resort fee. ☹️
