Staff was extremely helpful. Room was a nice size and well set up with a mini fridge and Keurig machine. Location was great for my son who had 3 of his favorite food stops within a block and very short walking distance (Chipotle, Panda Express, and Jack In The Box). Parking lot could handle my crew cab + long bed truck! (Not a small thing in California!) There was a great Farmers Market next door, on California Street. The location was great for our needs, being relatively close to Lucille Packard, so driving to and from wasn't as stressful as it tends to get.

It's not their fault but there's a large lot on the backside that had frequent early morning deliveries and a lot of beepers that would sound at 6am. Almost felt like a construction zone with the amount of air brakes and horns sounding.

The lady at the front desk is soooo nice! I didn’t have much interaction with her and she probably doesn’t even know what she did to impress me. But that’s just the point, she’s genuinely nice, she has such a warm friendly smile. I got the impression she’s just sweet and naturally nice to everyone. I wish more people in the world gave off such a good energy.

It was a little noisy at night, but it’s just the traffic in a busy area. Not much to do about that. Also, I wish there was a way to have the curtains open only part of the way. I’m my room (9), they either had to be all the way open or all the way shut.

The beds were comfortable and large enough for two people. The kitchenette was well equipped with coffee machine and microwave. There was even an iron with a board in the room. The air conditioning worked well.

As we stayed in a room on the ground floor, the headlights of departing/arriving cars lit up the room at night/early morning. We were not allowed to use the pool after 6 pm even though on Bookng.com it says it is open until 8 pm and the pool was a major reason we booked this hotel. We had to sign all kinds of liability contracts before being able to access the room, nothing similar have we seen in any other hotel.

This little downtown motel was one of the cleanest rooms I've ever had... period! The staff was extremely friendly, competent and helpful. And it was only about a 5-minute drive to the Stanford Medical Center. Within about a 3-minute walk, onto California Ave., there were a BUNCH of really great dining options (I opted for Vietnamese!), easily reachable on foot. A very comfortable queen bed. It was quiet throughout my night there.

No heater, but I'm a warm natured sort and they give you plenty of thick blankets! One of the two overhead ceiling lights was not working, but I didn't need it anyway. It was early January, so the lack of a heater was my biggest gripe.

Great location & easy walk to restaurants of all kinds. The room had a small kitchenette (microwave, counter/sink, a toaster! and small table/chairs) which us getting up and out early easy. Pull out sofa bed worked great since we were traveling with teenage son. Bathroom pedestal sink BUT they have a small shelving unit to put toiletries. Great walk in shower. Very close to Stanford for college visits. Bonus points for parking FREE on-site!

Bathroom vanity with counterspace would be ideal. No room to put a toothbrush. But did appreciate the small shelves instead. The parking lot that was behind the motel was especially noisy but really wouldn't deter us from staying here again.

Amazing location! You’re super close to a ton of restaurants that are just within a 2 minute walk! The motel its self is tremendously clean. You have access to many appliances in the room like a coffee maker (with coffee pods included for use), a microwave, mini fridge, a hair dryer, A TV

Since it is right in front of a busy road, it’s pretty noisy. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear if someone if coughing really loud. It’s manageable as I was able to still sleep peacefully.

Friendly staff, reasonable rates, perfect location in a comfortable space. It’s a motel so don’t expect luxury, but it’s clean and well maintained. We were travelling with a toddler, and this gave us plenty of room plus a kitchenette, and they also had a cot/crib ready for us. Very close to street full of restaurants and cafes, plus easy access to Stanford. Staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, and clearly take pride in making this motel comfortable — and they’re doing a great job. The prices are very fair compared to alternatives: we got more space and a more central location than the other properties we considered at a significantly lower cost. Highly recommend this motel. Totally a gem. Would stay again.

Road is noisy but bedrooms are at the back so wasn’t a problem. Light sleepers may want to bring earplugs though. Cleaner only came through every other day. That was fine for us, and our understanding was we could request daily service.

This motel really exceeds expectations for the budget. Very clean and comfortable. If you are only one or two people I recommend the King room vs 2 beds. Has a separated bed area and living area with sofa, reducing street noise. Also small kitchenette - almost a suite. The staff were super helpful and flexible with several changes in bookings, one change in room. The location is perfect - close to Stanford and to California Ave with many restaurants etc. My second stay and I will return next time in Palo Alto.

Staff are very pleasant and helpful. Location is excellent for getting anywhere by car as well as bus service. California Avenue with many restaurants and Mollie Stone grocery is a couple of blocks away. This is an older hotel with nice renovations. I prefer a larger kitchen area but not possible for this price. Small work areas- desk and table for two, but adequate for us. No breakfast which is fine because we usually don’t eat the buffet breakfasts in other hotels, but would have liked coffee. Drove up the road to get that at Peet’s. Have stayed here several times. Parking is free. Over the years I have been surprised to see other Palo Alto hotels with large and unfilled parking lots start to charge high rates - $26-30 nightly- for parking. Often not clearly stated on their websites. They act like they are in SF.

Dumpster being emptied behind on a nearby property woke us up two nights. In room coffee maker did not heat, but we were going out for coffee anyway. I don’t think there is an elevator so luggage needs to be carried upstairs- but we knew that ahead of our stay so not a problem for us. There are ground floor rooms so you should specify this if you have trouble with stairs.

The place is basic, but very comfortable... and very, VERY, clean! Literally, maybe 100ft from the back side of the hotel, is a wonderful 2 block area of California St, that is closed to auto traffic (At least in the evenings!). In that 2-block area, there must be 25 restaurants. Covering a LOT of different styles, types and expense levels. Most all of them have outdoor bistro/street seating, although there is also indoor seating, as well. Even a couple of places that had understated live music, actually ON the street. The Coronet is a great little jumping-off place, for a night of easygoing and varied dining! The hotel itself, is really, really clean, and the lady that gave me my room key was just a sweetheart. The rates are great and the towels are thick. An excellent value for the money, I've decided to make The Coronet my go-to lodging, whenever I have Stanford Medical Center appointments! PS: The WiFi was FAST!

The TV wasn't so good.
