property was cute, lots of restaurants, close to Petco stadium and night life around. HOWEVER, be aware there was A LOT of bums around. Hotel was very cute and Modern & Staff was great! Also Free welcome drink for each guest!
little pricey for such a small room. no parking on property. and if you self park it’s a block or two over. valet will cost you an extra $54 a night. Bums EVERYWHERE on each block.

Loved everything about the Moxy! Upon walking in, the vibe is amazing. Cute bar, fun table games everywhere, and there is even a little convenient store inside that is available 24/7. Our room was perfect - clean, AC worked amazing, and the shower was my favorite part! The blackout curtains were a nice touch as well, almost over slept because it was so dark in the room - felt like a Vegas room. We stayed in this location mainly because we had reservations for dinner at the Melting Pot. It was literally a 2 minute walk, it was perfect. This will be my go-to hotel for any trips in gaslamp!
The one bed room was a tad small, but perfect for two people. My next stay I believe I'll reserve the two queen bed room for a little more space.

This is my second time staying at this hotel and I really liked it. I think the rooms are a bit too small but it served its purpose. The employees are very friendly. I really liked the vibe. Different from other hotels.
I completely forgot that staying at this hotel and getting a room on a busy street with noise from the pedicab drivers' loud music, as well as the loud cars and motorcycles racing by really all hours of the night. Unfortunately, this would be a reason I wouldn't stay here anymore. It was really hard to fall asleep.

I already knew about Moxy hotels from my previous stay at the one in Times Square. I was here at this location for less than 24 hours and that (or the weekend) is the length of stay the Moxy is ideal for. There is only 3 hangers in the room an almost no bathroom counter space so it's definitely a room for yourself or a person you're extremely comfortable with! You also won't find an iron/ironing board in your room as the Moxy has its own room for this. You also won't find a shower cap, a luggage table, or even lotion! My room was very simplistic but modern, clean, and comfortable. I dropped my black sweatshirt on the floor and when I picked it up, not a trace of dirt or dust on it. Also, the shower tiles looked brand new they were so clean! A few cons were that the hot water takes forever in the shower (so long that I considered not taking one!) The deposit/incidental charge is $20 a night but they took $27!? Also, they do conserve energy by having the lights go out after about 10 minutes of no movement in the room. I was in the bathroom so no big deal. Just wave your arm and they come back on! LOL I did appreciate the security in the fact that you have to use your room key to use the elevator. I walked into the lobby late night towards the bar to redeem my free drink and was bombarded by the security asking me if I was a guest?! I showed him my room key and free drink coupon and he quickly eased up an welcomed me back. The bar is a happening spot with games like Jenga to play. The lobby was always clean and there is even a hidden speakeasy bar that I heard good things about. Moxy will continue to be high on my list when choosing hotel stays in the future!

The property is very contemporary and lies in the heart of the Gas light quarter and great for bars restaurants etc. The beds are comfortable and The room isn’t large but they tell you this in checking in at the bar together with a complimentary cocktail .
Despite its groovy contemporary look it didn’t have an iron etc instead it had a steamer which was little more than a small kettle. there was an ironing room at the end of the corridor but no access could be gained. my biggest gripe however is communications. I booked the hotel through Booking.com and my initial credit card transaction was declined Instead I had to duplicate the booking which left two parallel booking co existing on the Booking app. This caused a lot of confusion abd I messaged the hotel again and again but without any response whatsoever. accordingly on that point they failed

Great staff, friendly service, 24 hour valet - I used it at 5:30 AM. Tried the free drink - The Moxy, great mix and a great way to start the stay, keep that! Fresh arty decor. The rooms do lack a closet or storage drawers but the peg board was more helpful and adequate to display all my laundry than I expected. The all in one lobby, bar and game tables were nicely done.
Hot water was inconsistent due to boiler issues. There was a repair scheduled while I was there but I wasn't able to get a hot shower on my schedule. The trash can in the bath is galvanized but one half had rusted. There was no room makeup or new towels, maybe I missed the memo.

The vibe is hip and relaxed yet still has very attentive service from the doormen to the receptionist and the bar staff. I thought the free drink at check in is a cool way to acclimate to the hotel. Check out the hand written messages on the mirrors inside the elevators. Let your curiosity guide you!😉
Nothing to post here. I did read that the rooms were small and that is true. They design is very similar to a New York apartment and the interior design is really cool. If one wanted more space I believe the hotel offers suites too.

Clean, modern, quiet, and comfortable. What more could you ask for. Really appreciated the clothes steamer. Think the rooms are soundproofed as heard no noise from other guests. Waterfall shower was very nice. Complimentary morning coffee was great. Very friendly staff.
A lot of leather finishings in the room, being vegan I found myself feeling somewhat alienated. Also two bottles of water beside bed, there for the convenience of guests....at $6 each! ... found it a bit calculating and for the rates of the Moxy I'd expect them to throw in a regular-non $6 bottle of water for free.

Breakfast was okay, a bit expensive. But apparently that's San Diego. Location was very convenient but several downfalls to surrounding area.
Location. Empty buildings all around the place. Not very safe to walk at night due to the extreme amount of homeless people setting up camps all over sidewalks, cubbys around the area etc. What a sad thing that the problem the city does not seem to be addressing is destroying so many businesses.

Great stay, beautiful decor, location was near everything we needed for a weekend stay. Staff and service was also great, and the chips for drinks upon checkin was a fun plus. Even gave my spouse an extra chip for his birthday.
Only issue was how small and tight the room was. Also wish they had a mini fridge and microwave available to not waste food. Comfortable enough for a two day stay though.
