The amount of space in our room was amazing along with how friendly the staff was and will not only come back but will definitely recommend to others.

The staff is very nice and accommodating. They were helpful with recommendations and willing to store our luggage past our checkout time.

We enjoyed being in walking distance to the gas lamp district which was hopping on Saturday night. Lots of nice restaurants, music and people watching.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is a converted office building from the early 1900's, so it is an interesting experience. This is not a modern, sleek hotel but a reflection of the period it is from. A bit of a hike from the convention center but not too bad.

San Diego, as a whole, has been in better shape. There were many homeless people in the immediate area of the hotel which makes the area appear less safe than it probably is. In addition, many of the businesses in the immediate area of the hotel have not reopened since the pandemic. In general, the area south and east of the hotel are better bets for food and shopping. Stay away from 7th Avenue as there are encampments over there.

The staff was really friendly. The room was comfortable. The location was perfect.

A daily cleaning of the room would have been nice. It was cleaned once during our 5 night stay, only because I had to call to request after 3 days of non cleaning

I was surprised how much space I got. I expected a bedroom and got a suite.

The location is great. Staff were very friendly and helpful, Vera the Excuetive housekeeper was very kind and helpful with questions about the area. Ms. Merry, front desk staff was great. She didn't know it but we were between needing to get breakfast and having to take our luggage with us or wait until an hour or so later to eat once at our other destination. She said there many places to eat, why don't you all go out, take in the scenery and get some breakfast. We can store your luggage and you van pick it up when you come back.. She didn't know it but that took a great load off of us and allowed us to enjoy a little down time peacefully. Thank you Ms Merry! Not only that, but she was so energetic and friendly!

Only thing i would mention is that the couch smelled a little moldy. I figured because it was a little antiquist and cloth fabric it had little odor.

Apart from the great location in the heart of the vibrant Gaslamp area of San Diego and the good value-for-money, clean and well-appointed rooms, it is the staff that make this place so great. Really friendly, quick to lend a hand and to offer suggestions/recommendations. You got the feeling that they really cared about your stay. We stayed in a one bed suite which has a separate bedroom, a really comfortable, large sofa bed, plenty of seating and a kitchenette. We ate at the nearby Italian restaurant "Asti" - the food was delicious and the staff were great. Would definitely recommend there. Also, try Fig Tree Cafe on 6th for a great brunch. We actually returned for the last night of our break and wasn't disappointed. Would definitely return.

The only issue is the noise - obviously outside of the hotel's control and only what you would expect in this fun district. Personally, I found it amusing to hear the music, singing and laughter coming from the bars and restaurants located close by.
