The room was great. The property was located about a 10 minute walk to the popular boardwalk on a very busy street. I can't say Santa Cruz is a place worth visiting, but I'd definitely recommend this hotel if you're going there. The particular room I had came with a large sleeping area and a kitchen. The young man who runs the hotel really seemed to put a lot of work into making it a nice place. I also liked the fact that he walked around the parking lot quite a bit. I'm not sure if he was doing it as a security measure, but I'm sure it helps.

I didn't like Santa Cruz, but I have no complaints about this motel. The motel is clean, functional, and situated close enough to the main attraction on the beach. It's a solid 9 as far as motels go, I'd say.

I like the location and the staff. It was nice to have a kitchenette.

The room had a lot of dust on bedside light fixtures and inside cabinets- we couldn’t use the dresser provided for our clothes because the drawers were dirty with crumbs and such- and it would’ve been nice to have a place to hang the clothes at least. There was no place to hang jackets/clothes. It wasn’t too big of a deal so we didn’t complain. I’m sure they would’ve sent someone to clean it- we just didn’t bother. They are always nice there. We will always come back.

The Drift Inn is a clean, basic, and comfortable hotel. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and Ankit, the manager, goes out of his way to help guests with everything they need. I was traveling through Santa Cruz and struggling with some stressful issues and Ankit made it possible for me to be able to rest here with everything I needed. The hotel is on a busy road but there is no noise at night. It is located right across from the boardwalk and in a very convenient location. Even though it’s not the best area in town, Ankit and his sister (co-manager) work very hard to make the premises very safe. I felt totally relaxed and secure the whole time I was there. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in Santa Cruz or even if you are just driving through and need a safe, quiet place to rest overnight.

The location is sketchy but I felt safe because the managers work so hard to keep the hotel safe.

i thought this place was a great value for what i paid for. it was great location, nice bed, updated bathroom and even a separate kitchen/dining room with an attached balcony (where i aired out my tent from a previous trip). friendly staff and they even let me check in 3 hours early since the room was available and i got there sooner than i was planning.

nothing really. i don't think there was an elevator so if mobility is an issue you might want to confirm. i was on the second floor.

- Large room which even had a spare bedroom - Very large shower - Room had a microwave and decent sized fridge - Friendly staff - 10mins drive from the Wholefoods - Walking distance to Boardwalk and Downtown - Good Parking and easy access in and out of the city

- A little dated however has recently changed ownership so this may change in the next few months - First time i have ever been cold in a hotel room. Bedding was very thin and more suited to summer months. Air conditioner was very loud so not really polite to switch it on at night. - An additional bedside light would have been useful.

really close to the boardwalk and walkable distance to beach! SUCH a friendly owner! Very tidy and clean, nice surprise to find we had a small "kitchen" space with a sink and back patio!

I was surprised to not find small shampoo and conditioner bottles/baggies! We had to purchase them ourselves. Also, I wasn't sure why room service didn't clean up on our day out and we wanted some fresh towels but it was ok!

I had made my reservations and paid for everything then saw some reviews that had made me a little worried that I might have made a wrong decision but it was too late to back out I even had some anxiety about possibly staying there but once I got there the front desk guy was exceptional he was so nice and had a smile each and every day always asked if there was anything I needed my room was clean I was very comfortable very welcomed I don't have a bad thing to say about my stay I really enjoyed myself and I will definitely book there again

Cute, charming vibe, comfortable bed, very comfortable pillows, walkably close to the Boardwalk. Friendly proprietor. Clean fridge in room, easy to keep drinks and snacks cold.

Towels a bit rough, not sure about the soap's cleaning ability although it did smell good.

The proprietors were both cheerful, helpful and dutiful. I was given access to a parking spot not reserved for guests, but they noticed I was limping and had a pickup truck with my personal effects (temporarily moving). It was right next to my front door and made lugging my life in and out much easier. I was only supposed to stay one night, but circumstances led to several more days of tenancy and I couldn't have been happier. The cleaning staff made sure I had what I needed at all times and all were in good spirits when we would see each other during the days.

I didn't like the fact I had to leave. The room I stayed in had been recently remodeled and was nicer than anything I've ever lived in. Makes me want to work there and get to live in room 101 as payment 🤗

The room was spacious. The back area with fridge and sink was very quiet and had a window with screen so good for ocean breeze. Parking was easy, tho might be tight if fully occupied. Really appreciated convenience and quiet of location. Near enough to walk anywhere, yet on a less traveled road. Exceptional value for Santa Cruz, and felt very safe.

A better mattress would make this a 10.
