The room was spacious and nice. Breakfast was good with eggs and sausages (I do protein in the AM). The hot tub was relaxing but probably could've used less chlorine. I still can't get the smell out of my bathing suite. The young man at the bar was very nice and attentive especially when trying to find out if the hot wings contained any gluten.

I stayed two nights and asked the manager if it was possible for housekeeping to make my bed in the morning as I had not even used any towels and I was going to be gone until noon. She said "yes" and when I returned closer to 1:30pm the bed was still not made. Also, I wasn't aware of the $19 charge for overnight parking and this was disappointing. I parked on the street which was pretty busy, but luckily nothing happened to my car.

The staff is friendly and professional. The property seems fresh and new. The room was comfortable and clean.

The included breakfast is perfunctory. But what was strange was that the air in our room had a strong aroma of cannabis vapor through most of our two-night stay. When we mentioned it to the front desk, we had the sense that this was not the first time guests had reported it. They told us that there was really nothing they could do about it, as it was circulating in the ventilation system, so that even if we moved to a different room, we would likely encounter it again. So, I would caution anyone with an aversion or asthma about that “feature”.

The room was big and very clean, with everything we needed. The staff were really nice and tried to help with everything we asked. Breakfast was fresh and included a nice variety. The hotel has a parking and valet services for 19$, but there is plenty of parking in the streets around for free.

The staff used guests laundry room for the hotel's laundry, such as bed linens. This situation was not comfortable as we wanted to wash our clothes and had to ask them to give us an opportunity.

The breakfast is decent! Good variety, plenty of options for everyone.

I wasn’t a fan of the mandatory valet parking, not a huge deal but just a personal preference.

Very quiet, comfortable beds and staff was great. Valet parking crew were excellent, quick at getting your car and has good area info.

These things do not hinder my excellent rating for the stay. The fitness area is missing the dumbbells from 25lb - 35lb. At morning breakfast they had 1 coffee press, the line for coffee was generally long and the coffee ran empty quite often and took awhile to get refilled. Both small things, but avoidable annoyances.

good location, 15 min walk to the beach. valet garage under the hotel for $15. room was large and clean. typical Hyatt corporate quality beds, linens, etc.

ac unit in 301 was over the too loud and did not cool down the room. we had to sleep with it off only to wake up hot and turn it on and off again a few times. not ok. the room faces the pool and was very loud when families were using it. shampoo and conditioner were in small containers to be thrown out after use. I thought Hyatt switched to refillable soap dispensers. price was unbelievable. we paid a total of $496 for a king room and parking on a Saturday night mid august. Santa Cruz has terrible options for hotels. most are rundown and moldy. Hyatt is always clean and nice but come on! we spent last Saturday in a Hyatt in the city for $179. hotel was way nicer, cleaner and swanky.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. This is a no smoking property so you never have to smell smoke. The breakfast was good with a decent variety. We will stay there again!

I would have liked to skip the valet parking and just parked our car myself in their parking lot.

The valets were great, and gave us directions to walk to the beach. The breakfast spread was well equipped with all the essentials. The entire hotel was very clean. The pool was refreshing, and the hot tub was relaxing.

The only thing that wasn't perfect, was the amount of towels by the pool area. When I mentioned to staff there were no towels, they immediately stocked them up.

The lobby area was nicely decorated. Breakfast was decent with enough variety. The valet staff was fantastic. Very friendly, helpful and they seemed to care about the level of service.

The front desk staff was very mixed in their level of helpfulness. The pool area had screaming kids all hours of the day. Also kids everywhere during breakfast hours.

Breakfast, bed was comfy and room felt spacious. Fitness center and pool/ hot tub were great. Great location too. Walkable to boardwalk and downtown. Super location!

The only thing is that the hot tub lacked working jets. Big tub but only a couple jets on one side were blowing air. Otherwise no complaints. This place was excellent!
