Hotel Sutter

Comfortable bed. Adequate storage to unpack luggage into. Good restaurant in the hotel. Staff were very attentive and friendly. While they say breakfast is not included, they did have a few pastries and coffee available gratis in the morning before the restaurant opened. Restaurant opens at 10. We went to Sutter Creek for the ragtime festival. Staying in that hotel was in the center of town and perfect for us.

The hotel is very, very old. It does have updated plumbing and bath fixtures. Lighting in the room and bath are okay, but not good. In the bath, for example, you would not want to do elaborate makeup. It is difficult and expensive to maintain such an old building. The place is not slick and modern. We have no complaints, but we were aware of the effort and expense it takes to maintain the place, and that the room price reflects that. We plan to stay there again.

We were only there for a night and settled for one of the smaller room. It was clean and confortable, it had a nice clean shower (no bath). The room itself was a bit small (with a double) which was not unexpected at that price point, but if I was booking again, I would probably try to get a slightly larger and pricier room. I have to say that Cole from the front desk service who did our check in was very friendly and offered us some great dining and wine tasting recommendations.

Not much to complain about, other than some muffled scratching noises from within the walls, which sounded like a rodent scurrying about throughout the night. Might wanna have that checked out.

The people who work here were very kind and accommodating. The person who helped me at the front desk was friendly and knowledgeable, and we had a good conversation whenever we interacted. The hotel itself is very nice and my room was quaint, with that old time feel to it. I loved it. The room and bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The small town itself was pleasant to take a walk around and see. The hotel is located in the middle of the downtown area so everything is within easy walking distance. I would come back here in a heartbeat and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who visited this area.

The hotel has lots of history and it has character. When we arrived the restaurant was very full and there was live music.Great atmosphere. The reception process was good.

The bedroom was rather small and faced the balcony where there were people having dinner and I felt they could see me through the window. The room didn't have a fridge nor microwave but were told we could get one upon request. They had a book in the room with rules and threats of charging you if you made a mess in the room or stained the sheets too much. I understand the hotel needs to protect their space but I felt "threatened".

The lobby and restaurant area had been modernized and we totally understood it was not going to be open while we were there, so we enjoyed the wonderful deck by ourselves. Right in the middle of Sutter Creek it was a great location. The staff was especially nice and helpful. And it had an elevator for getting upstairs which is a bonus when most of these 1800s hotels don't have an elevator so hard for Seniors. The Kleenex holder in our bathroom was a hoot!! The breakfast box was delicious and if we wanted more go next door. And the restaurant across the street was excellent.

I was a little disappointed in the room which didn't feel as refurbished as the rest of the hotel and yet the bed was comfy. That's all.

We arrived on a lively night at Hotel Sutter as Sutter Creek had its spring fling and the staff were still very responsive, polite and helpful getting us checked in and moving up a dinner reservation. The room was clean and comfortable and the location in the middle of town is unbeatable. Dinner in their restaurant was also very good.

everything was very clean and all of the employees were very helpful. location is great.

we did not make reservations in time to eat at the restaurant during our stay. it would be nice if a small amount of space was left for hotel guests only. Also, access to the balcony before the restaurant opens for guests of the hotel to sit and drink coffee or just sit and people watch for a bit would also be nice.

The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bedding was crisp and clean. We did not deal with a lot of noise from other guests and the service was excellent. We will stay again.

Great location. Slightly over priced for a double room with a small bathroom. Very clean and quiet. No view. Good parking. Nice employees. Would I stay again… maybe if I did not need two beds for the price I paid. Breakfast was adequate but could have been a full breakfast for the rate I paid.

Great location and history. Excellent hotel service (bar service was not good from lady bartender, she ignored me for 20 minutes, never filled my drink order, the male bartender finally helped.

Horrible drink ordering process in bar!!!!
