If you’re looking to stay at a reasonably priced luxury hotel on the CA 99 corridor consider making your stop in Visalia to stay at The Darling. The architecture of the hotel is beautiful and the rooms are opulent. We were particularly impressed by the walk in rain shower in the marble festooned bathroom, it made us feel like royalty. The bed was amazing too. We also enjoyed the rooftop restaurant, it has a full bar and a great menu with stunning views of the Sierra and Mt Whitney. The staff was excellent and respectful. This hotel feels like a safe and welcoming place for LGBT and African American travelers.

We stayed at the Darling Hotel December 3rd, 2022 for a Christmas Family mini getaway. Our concierge "Ashley" was amazing. She made sure we had everything we needed & was super attentive & friendly to each member of our Family. She even text us to check on us throughout our stay. She also suggested dinner at the "Elderwood" Rooftop of Hotel... which was delicious!! This was the best way to kick off the Christmas Holiday. We really enjoyed our stay...I cant say enough about what an amazing time we had here. We will be back next year!! Thank you Ashley!!

Robert was absolutely fantastic!!! I stayed at The Darling because I had just been in a big car accident. He was soo beyond helpful!!! He went above and beyond for me. Thank you Robert!!! The french toast was bomb too! Loved the bathtub!!

No microwave in the suite. The light switches were very confusing to work. Also the tub drain/plug...i couldn't figure out how to plug it so Robert came up and he struggled a bit too until we figured it out. Maybe a little note about it.

An unexpected surprise. The hotel was thoughtfully designed with an exceptional attention to detail-the renovation was beautifully done. Extremely comfortable beds, wonderful bath/shower, and friendly staff all added up to a terrific overnight stay. Great bar and decent restaurant on the rooftop. No reason to stay anywhere else if you are in the Sequoia National Park/Visalia region.

Given the quality of the rooms and hotel, the only slight miss would be the Bigelow products in the bath--it's an upscale, high-design hotel, and the toiletries should go up a notch to reflect that.

The staff was amazing. Every person working there greeted us as we passed them. The room was very clean. I had a special request being it was my wife's birthday and they made sure that request was fulfilled. We were so pleased with our stay, we're already planning our next trip there. Amazing job!

One issue I had was there wasn't an iron and ironing board. Not a big deal at all but it would have been nice to have one.

Our dinner was amazing! Our room was amazing and the bathroom was exquisite. I loved the waterfall shower head. I especially loved the tile in the bathroom. The hotel felt like I went back in time but with all new renovation. Loved everything about our stay. Our stay was perfect!

I felt that the restaurant was under staffed. It was a long wait for everything we asked for. It seemed that our waiter was the only one working the entire outside rooftop area. I also wasn't fond of having to pay for parking. I guess in big cities you have to pay but for Visalia most parking is free. Seemed unnecessary.

The room was awesome, and the restaurant bar were incredible!

Navigating your building. Truly confusing how many doors were locked, or barred, how.many hallways you have to walk through to find the lobby etc. Have to take stairs, the elevator, then stairs to get around, was just weird an unexpected.

This property is an amazing hotel. The owners have kept every detail of the Art Deco era in their decorating and have thought of every little detail for their guests. Specialty tea and coffee in the room with a huge rain shower head, comfy bed and comfy room, excellent roof top restaurant and bar. Easy parking and access to the hotel was a nice feature.

Beautiful design. Large luxury bathroom. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Welcoming staff.

No soundproofing between rooms. Thankfully my neighbor only coughed in the morning, so I did get a good night sleep. Also the pillows on the bed were all medium or firm, I prefer soft.

the staff with the restaurant, well dining in. Very easy ordered room service breakfast two mornings and it was absolutely wonderful. I tried to dine in the restaurant and the service was awful. We had a reservation at 12:45 PM we ended up being done an hour and a half later and the tables were half empty. My wife and I both ordered the same exact thing, hamburger medium well. Mine was cooked perfectly my wife was cold and almost rare. Bad reflection on the hotel in itself. Seems inconsistent was a nice the Darling hotel
