Clean, beds very comfortable, friendly and helpfull check in, at check in we were told that the cafe in Blance was a great place to eat but was closing in 30 min and was the only place to get supper, so we quickly left and got there in time. Back in room we found our tv didn't work but the staff had to reset satellite box and all was good.

Older motel, back door entrance didn't shut and latch so not secure. Other doors have an actual key to get in but worked fine. Small bath room with sink on outside of bathroom. Hard to find 110 outlets to plug in chargers.

Exceptionally clean, our room was recently updated with new everything! The staff were friendly. Fort Garland is very small with 1 gas station and 2 restaurants. If you are in the area, Rendezvous BBQ is right next to the hotel and has great food with great staff. Don't judge a book by it's cover in Fort Garland :) It is about 35 minutes to drive to the Great Sand Dunes Park, so location is good.

Breakfast is included with the room, coffee is good but breakfast consists of packaged donuts/danishes (not a fan) and apples.

Location, location, location, if you are traveling to Great Sand Dunes National Park, the hotel is 30 minutes away. They rent sandboards $20 each - convenient. This is a family ran motel. I met both the husband and the wife. He is a genuinely nice guy. The wife is a bit uptight, but tries to come across as a nice person. I guess not everyone is born to be great in customer service. However, if you overlook that not everyone is created equally awesome in customer service, the motel is a good value, just do not expect too much from breakfast. They do provide coffee, cakes, sweets, and for us that was sufficient, to start the day. We did not come there to eat, but to be close to the destination, the national park. Highly recommended for a budget stay.

The walls are very thin. We could hear the conversation next door between a child and parents. However, I was so tired, I fell asleep in the middle of it. I do not believe the owners can do anything about it, it is structural. If that is a concern for you, try something else, however, there are not that many options in the area to start with. The furniture in the room is a bit worn, but it is a budget motel (not a Hilton or Holiday Inn Express), plus the rooms are spotless clean!

Great location and a great little hotel. First time in a long time that we've stayed in a hotel that wasn't part of a big chain. We enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely stay here again. The area is incredibly beautiful, we enjoyed the park that is about a block away. It was a nice spot after a day of traveling. Breakfast was very basic, it was prepackaged pastries/donuts.etc, but that was fine with us. It was nice having an actual key to the room, didn't have to worry about it not working! Check-in was busy, but we were helped in a timely manner and had all our questions answered.

Staff (managers) were friendly and exceptionally accommodating, proactively checking to confirm I had what I needed. When I had a special request, they went out of their way to meet my need. I loved that there was a mini-frig and microwave in the room so I didn't have to eat at a restaurant every meal. The room was clean (new carpet) and the bed was very comfortable. The Dollar General a few blocks away had everything one might need on a trip and the nearby restaurants were excellent (surprising variety). The TV channel options were great and the internet was acceptable (there are always a few lags when you are in the "boonies"). While the amenities were basic (sweet rolls & coffee for breakfast, no pool), this is an excellent place to rest!

Heat could have been turned on before I arrived as the room temp was in the low 60s -- but not a big deal.

Location: we came to visit the Great Sand Dunes, so we were really just looking for somewhere to shower and rest our heads, and didn’t want to spend a ton on a room we wouldn’t be in much. Beds were comfortable. Rooms were standard basic rooms. Check in and out were easy and quick. Staff were all very nice and friendly. Some parking out front and a few spaces behind the property, so we had no issues with parking. Across the street from a gas station so we went there for coffee in the mornings and snacks.

There were a few bugs around in the room but it’s a big wilderness area and we were right next to the outside access door. Not specific to the hotel but wish we’d known: In general, there’s not much to the town at first glance. It’s a very small, live-off-the-grid type town, which is neat but most stores/places seemed closed as a result so you couldn’t really wander and explore the local area. Be aware that there are no chain restaurants or big grocery stores that we saw; that’s fine I prefer to eat local when I travel anyway. On our first night we realized many of the restaurants closed by 7pm and we had to call around a few places to find one that was open. None of this detracted from our experience overall but would’ve planned a few things differently had we known.

The location was beautiful and easy to find. Room was very clean. The staff were extremely friendly, let me know about all the food options in town and when they closed. Provided a few pastries and coffee for breakfast, which was nice. Overall very pleasant experience.

The only negative thing was the walls were thin, so you could pretty much hear every conversation in the lobby and partial conversations in neighboring rooms. It's a small place so don't think they can do anything about it.

The check-in clerk was a friendly and a quite knowledgeable pleasant young lady. A joy to run into after a long day on the road. Great little restaurant across the street with the most amazing pies' made by "grandma" sold buy the slice or the whole thing.

The bed was a little firm for us but still had a good nights sleep. My wife's knees weren't happy with the stairs up to the 2nd floor but she cow-girled up and did just fine after I poured a glass of wine down her.

The room was clean, large, had three queen beds for three adults. The beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of outlets which is unusual for hotel. The location was convenient to the Great Sand Dunes. The most exceptional thing is the staff. Beyond friendly. This is an older hotel but is a well cared for facility, a good value and a great location.

Very cute place, center of town. very clean. comfortable beds. microwave & fridge. Coffee & pastries in the morning. My one big complaint other than skimpy towels….we wanted to stay at the sand dunes till after sunset but my reservation said checkin between 3:00-6:00pm. However coming back from a ride at 9:00pm the lobby was still opened. I recommend you call ahead to confirm checkin time.

No pool, skimpy bath towels. Minor issues for a one night stay. Checkin time issue may have been with booking.com. not the hotel. Would definitely recommend and would stay again.
