American Classic Inn

The property was very clean and tidy. The room aesthetic was very nice and modern. The drive thru check-in was super convenient. We received a few informational texts from the property prior to arrival and that was a nice touch. The staff we came in contact with was very professional and nice. The property has been completely redone and you can tell it was a labor of love because they did a phenomenal job!!

The “snack room” hours were not that convenient seeing as that’s the only place there is a microwave. The water pressure at the bathroom sink was awful. Like it dribble out..

Rooms were clean & the decor was nice.

Playground was the reason we booked the room. Slide was so full of sap, it wasn’t usable. The benches were in need of painting- couldn’t sit on them. The staff was more worried about the people paying money reading their rules. It was sent to me 2 times prior to my arrival and then I had to stand & read & initial prior to checking in. What happened to taking care of the consumer?

This is in a good location right on the highway in Salida. Watch for the Volkswagen Beetle sticking out of the front of the office and you'll know you're there. This place is newly remodeled and really super cute. Everything is new and we enjoyed our stay. Walmart is just down the street. We were ready to re-stock a few things on our trip.

Not a lot of places to plug in. That's a problem in a lot of places. Breakfast is packaged goods. We needed sustenance for a long day of travel. That's common it seems.

Rooms very clean, 2 queen more spacious than deluxe queen but latter was fine for a couple, good location- 5 minute ride to town, snacks and coffee in mornings.

Weird that you couldn’t check in past ten pm when you are in a mountain town and could potentially run into plane delays/ car trouble. When I wanted to check in for my son they made an “exception”- when I handed over my credit card! Never heard of anything so weird. Since no pool had a small area around a grill - large enough for 2 picnic tables but not a lot of common area - I guess because there are limited accommodations they could charge more but seemed a bit expensive for what you got.

Very cute and clean retro motel. The décor is wonderful. Close to our event location making it extremely convenient for our needs.

We had an issue with water backing up in the bathtub even before we used it. The staff worked swiftly to rectify the issue and made the shower functional. However still drained very slowly. Hopefully after our check out additional work was performed to improve the situation.

The room locking system was clumsy and it was difficult to get the hang of the cardboard keys. The door latches do not have security pins that prevent accessing a locked door by shimming with a thin plastic (credit card) or flexible metal sheet. I won’t put this in any public review but it’s an important shortfall.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Absolutely adorable, comfy, and clean room. Quiet at night.

1) VERY weak wifi. I couldn't work from the room like I had planned. 2) No dead bolt on door. The lock they did have was gimmicky, chintzy, and hard to use. I did not feel entirely safe. (ACI owners this is such an easy and cheap fix.)

Top notch little hotel with a great retro look that is also a bit more spacious than other motels of its kind. A few too many rules for my taste, which felt unwelcoming. But I understand the need for owners to protect their investment.

The whole design concept was great. The retro feel worked, and the little red mini fridge was cute as a button. The bed was great, there was a hairdryer, and toiletries, and the shower was wonderful. towels were plush. Nice place. The check in gal sent me to a great place for dinner and I really loved that recommendation. I will stay here again when I return to Salida!

The breakfast was not that great. Grab and go meant small snacks packaged to carry. I took some snacks and did eat them, but I wouldn't really call it breakfast. The coffee maker was hard to work and I spilled water everywhere. I did not like the drive up check in and was told after the fact, that I could have entered the reception area. Maybe a sign saying drive up optional would have helped.

The room was clean, cute and comfortable. It didn't come with a hair dryer in it, but the staff graciously brought one for us anyway.

Check out is required before 10 AM. We headed over for the grab and go breakfast at 9:30 and were told that it was closed down at 9. The wall heater is extremely noisy and interfered with our sleep.
