Location was perfect. Restaurant and rooftop bar superior. Staff very helpful, friendly, sincere.

Very small things - service for the hot breakfast items had no place to put plate, I could have used an extra hand to (1) lift the lid, (2) hold the plate and (3) scoop the food. Managed by moving aside the spoon rest and resting the plate on the bar. As nice as the open air rooftop seating was, an extension of the canopy would have been nice. The soaking tup experience was lovely. A shelf or ? to hold soap, bath accessories, etc. while in the tub within easy reach would have been nicer.

The Birchwood hosted my daughters wedding, and I can’t say enough about it. The Venue provides an intimate setting with all the amenities! We had no need to leave the venue being everything you need is there, from the breakfast to dinner and the entertainment at the rooftop bar! The staff was there to provide every request with a smile. Looking forward to a visit for a weekend getaway in the incredibly romantic rooms!

We arrived on a Friday afternoon, and the unloading of our cars to the hotel was a bit inconvenient being there is no way to pull closer to the venue.

The location of the Birchwood was amazing, we were in the heart of the St. Pete pier area which we were looking for. We didn't need to use our car at all, using the central ave. trolley for the Rays baseball game, rented bikes one morning and walked to the great local restaurants. The Birchwood has daily complimentary breakfast, which was very good. The Birch and Vine had a great atmosphere, with delicious food and service.

Not much, we truly enjoyed our stay. The only thing I would say is to ask if the guest is staying at the hotel at Birch and Vine, we had a 20% off coupon given at check-in and forgot to use it.

Very cute and funky. The bar is beautiful. Amazing breakfast service. Breakfast is complimentary, but they do not skimp on the service. Best scrambled eggs, really good bacon and brioche toast (I think it was brioche). Loved the soaking tub and the decor was lovely. It's a very intimate boutique hotel and my husband who is hates hotels just loved this place. My husband isn't a guy that would necessarily love your typical 5 star hotel. He finds those hotels cold and sterile. He was just tickled by the architecture and all the unexpected touches that make this place so memorable.

The downside was that these blowers went off at 7 am in the morning. Also the valet situation is kind of weird. If you don't know where you are going, you won't know what space to pull into and it's fairly inconvenient. However, once you settle in and get to the front desk, it's an absolutely great experience. It is amazing for what it is...a quaint boutique hotel. The hotel will never be able to offer all the services of a JW Marriott or Ritz Carlton, but it makes up for these deficiencies with the quirky perks

Beautiful place. Great location downtown by the St. Pete Pier.. Their two restaurants were excellent. I loved The Canopy on their roof. The woodwork in our room and fancy bath tub and shower were great. All of the staff were great. 😎

No vending of any kind. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. Maybe they are trying to be different from your normal hotel. They gave us ice from their restaurant bar, which was nice ! We purchased pop, beer, and snacks from the local Annex store 2 blocks away. Despite these minor things, it's a beautiful place. Yes, we'd stay there again. 😎

Breakfast is basically fine, although not nearly as exceptional as the restaurant offerings. Scrambled eggs and meats in warmers, amazing local rye bread, muffins and juice/coffee/tea. Restaurant and roof top bar are both really fun and have great cocktail/food options, depending on your mood. Bar food upstairs, finer dining downstairs. Hotel location is amazing, right smack dab in town, across from the water, nearby to great bars/dining. Rooms are spacious (ours had a claw footed tub!) and well decorated, if a little aged. Bedding is really comfy - with a feather type topper and cushy pillows. Have stayed here many times and always return.

Everything about the Birchwood was perfection. It's right in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg, across the street from the bayside park and very close to excellent restaurants. Our room was beautiful -- large and quiet -- and the bath room was lovely with a free standing tub and beautiful shower. The staff was supremely accomodating. Not only did the valet bring us an item we left in the car, but made a second trip to pick up our hanging clothes. Way above and beyond! We were a little worried about noise from the rooftop bar and cabanas, but heard nothing. Highly recommend and we will be back.

Nothing.

The front desk was so friendly and helpful, I needed extra decaf espresso pods and they ran them right up, like 5 minutes. The free breakfast was a nice addition. Downtown St Pete location, you can walk to everything, including the Pier. The rooftop bar is a hot spot and their Birch and Vine restaurant was delicious, as a guest of the hotel you get a discount. I especially liked the illy espresso machine in my room, four poster bed and the beautiful claw foot tub that came with bubble bath, which my husband used twice I a 1 night stay. They provide plush robes in the room too. Nice snacks are avbl for purchase in the room: Birch beer soda from a boutique company and a collection of nuts, candies, chips, etc., all packaged visibly attractive and priced been $3-8. They also provide at no charge a nice glass bottle of still water. The room and bathroom are very large. We stayed in room 205, no real view per say, but totally fine, it overlooked a very small courtyard.

Only thing I lacked in the room was a refrigerator, which they might have upon request, I didn't't ask. And it was a bit dark. A gentleman was complaining about that upon my arrival and I giggled a little, but quickly understood what he meant. I felt it was relaxing and provoked a good night's rest. The side lights by the night stands were excellent for reading. The bathroom could benefit from a light up makeup mirror. I wear a lot of black and it was a hard to actually see my clothes in the wardrobe and drawers, they did provide a little portable night light by the safe to see better in the closet. None of these were deal breakers for me

The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, and the location was perfect! Having daily valet service made parking stress free. The hotel and room were beautiful and the clawfoot tub and rain shower were fun touches. We had the included breakfast most of our days there and it was great - had both hot and cold options (cereal, pastries, eggs, bacon, french toast) and everyone always found things they liked. Will definitely go back!

It would have been nice to have 24 hour valet service (the desk was typically staffed until about 9pm), and a ramp to the parking spot to help with loading. I would also have liked a small couch or loveseat in the room instead of a small chair.

Lovely breakfast choices. The restaurant was fabulous. We ate there daily. Staff was exceptional. Room was perfect. We loved walking to all the museums and the pier and the view from the rooftop (see photo below). Loved the decor

Hash browns for breakfast would be nice for non meat eaters. We were on the 3rd floor and at night heard clunking overhead possibly from the ballroom or bar. We will ask for a second floor room next time.
