The Inn On Third

The Inn on Third is a quaint Inn. I was pleasently surprised how it felt like "being at home." The owner greated me as I walked in and helped take my bags into my room. There was a cocktail social each evening, with complimentary wine. My stay was for two nights. There was I good variety of restaurants and shops within walking distance of Downtown. The room and bed were extremly comfortable. I haven't had that good of a sleep in a long time. I was impressed how friendly and the attentivness of the owners.

The continental breakfast was simple. I was hoping there woud be hot foods.

The hotel was situated in a perfect location, the staff were very friendly and efficient. They provided a good complimentary Continental breakfast and there was a "social time" from 5pm to 7pm with a complimentary drink.

The room looked very tired but it was perfectly clean. The matress was extreemly comfortable but a little too big for the bed meaning the the pillows fell down the back during the night. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee in the room, even instant coffee as we like to wake and relax with a cuppa before getting up. Having said all of this, these points are very minor and we would stop in the hotel next time we visit St Petersburg.

Although we only stayed for 2 nights, the location was great walking distance to many things. The breakfast was a continental breakfast, which included coffee, mini pastries and muffins, juices, fruit and cereal. We didn’t take advantage of the breakfast because we were meeting family for brunch, and there are many restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We left early the next morning so again no breakfast, but it did look delish.. we did have the coffee and it was great. I broke my leg 4 weeks before our stay and forgot to mention it previously. The owner was very accommodating and changed our room to the first floor, for there are no elevators in the building. Loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We will be visiting in the future!

Lovely little find. Good location. Very close to restaurants & pier. Very friendly, helpful hosts. Free welcome drink after check-in, so you can get to know other guests & pick up tips for what to do, where to go & where to eat etc. Sufficient breakfast (basic & typical for Florida, in our experience). Free parking in car park. Nice soft towels. Antique decor, may not be to everyone’s taste, but we loved it. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Noisy air con, but the room also had a ceiling fan, which was both quieter & effective. Our room was in the small side, but sufficient for our needs.

- Although there is no lift, the host helps you with the luggage - Maybe a bit more space for two large pieces of buggage

Staff were excellent. Room was great for age of building/facilities. Breakfast and Happy hour and meeting fellow Inns people was enjoyable. Location is great. Was able to walk everywhere I needed and utilized the free sun runner to get to St Pete beach/Don Cesar and the looper when I didn’t feel like walking back from Dali Museum.

I kept accidentally kicking the metal thing under the bed and worried I was disturbing others with the noise. No one complained—- that I know of. But it’s the only thing negative I could think of

The hosts Brian and Stephanie were amazing hosts. The inn is clean, the rooms are clean and comfortable,filled with antique furnishings. There is no elevator, so if stairs are a concern request a room in the first floor. Breakfast was provided every morning, coffee and tea were available all day. In the evenings there was wine and beer. The inn is within walking distance of museums, the pier and downtown St. Pete., and many restaurants. The trolley comes by every 15 minutes and is free. Once we parked our car we didn't have to use it at all. We will definitely stay here again

On this hotel you can't beat the location and price combination. Walk to most everything. Brian is an amazing host and genuinely makes everyone feel welcome. Any issues are tackled immediately and communication was great. I call it Grandmas house because its an old building with upgrades here and there to keep up with the times but also keep its character of a historically feeling building. Places and people like this are a dying breed and I'll happily stay here again whenever I'm in town. 10 out of 10 in my opinion.

I loved this place so its hard to nit pick to find something bad. The hotel may not be for everyone but if you like character and great location at reasonable price then this is it.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Great localization, close to St. Pete downtown, restaurants, pubs, and pier. While the breakfast was continental, it offered few options without sugar, such as boiled eggs and cream cheese.

While this is a historical hotel that has its charm, some infrastructure is a bit dated, e.g., rusty towel hangers and showerheads.

We live in the Orlando area so we often do a two-night 'escape' to the beaches on the west coast or east coast of Florida. But this time we wanted to visit a couple of the museums that showcase artists the work with glass. So I looked for a hotel that was centrally located within walking distance of the museums and restaurants, offered parking, and had high ratings from those who have stayed there. I was very surprised to find all three along with very reasonable rates (and breakfast!) at the Inn on Third. The continental breakfast had a lot of selections: toast and bagels, cold cereal, oatmeal, yogurts, fresh fruit, and very good coffee. As a bonus, the innkeepers were very pleasant, knowledgeable (Brian speaks German and Spanish along with his native English), and went out of their way to ensure that we had a great visit.

As others have noted, the room was small and the bathroom even smaller that what many have become used to. But there was enough room to move around the bed with ease and the water in the shower was hot almost immediately.
