The room size and cleanliness, staff friendliness, on-site restaurants, ocean view (we were ground floor with a patio and ocean view...recommended!), and the close beach for swimming and snorkeling (the rock pools are awesome!)

Just be aware that there does seem to be miscommunication from what is advertised with the resort fee vs. what you get. We didn't get a shell lei welcome (it would be weird anyway lol) and free drinks. I didn't ask about it, but if you're planning on that, maybe just check beforehand. The mattress was blown out on one side. Both restaurants are $$ with decent food but nothing earth-shattering. We loved the convenience and view though, so it was worth it!

The Hotel is located next to the Beach Park. It has been maintained well. The hotel has two outdoor pools along with hot tub. Sunrise viewing is a literally walk across the park. We had a ocean view room so could view the sunrise from the window. The hotel also has laundary facility, which was very effective. Also, there was enough parking including a overflow area. The check-in and check-out was seamless experience. It is highly recomended for families with kids. The unique thing is that Lydgate Beach Park is right next to the property, and you can spend quality time both during sunrise and sunset hours and throughout the day too. As we did not avail the breakfast facilitiy, cannot comment on it.

The room was great! I loved that as soon as you walk in the AC was blasting after being outside in the heat. The breakfast was amazing. i ate from the menu and from the buffet. They were both awesome. I had the garden omelet and the avocado toast from the menu. The buffet food was also great. Lots of food to choose from. I loved all the amenities we had there. Welcome mai tai's for each day we stayed. bottled water each day and the fill up water dispenser in the front lobby that was a plus. I loved the Tikki bar the food, drinks and views were amazing.

paid wi-fi and that i was charged a resort fee. I thought it was included already with the fee. But i loved the place, i will be back for sure. The staff was also very nice.

the view over the sea and gardens with a truly excellent sun rise made this hotel very good

tatty in places and the shower was just impossible, no control over water temp but I was lucky enough to use the showers at the sea edge, mad I had to do that but also a pleasure to shower with a unbelievable view. the cleanliness wasn’t great in the hotel but after driving around I get the impression this was a good Hawaii standard.

Loved the view of pur original room Jr. King size bed suite with Ocean View. Comfortable bed/pillows. Easy access to the beach, pools, & bar from the room. Excellent concierge services in booking tours. Noli & Anela, front desk staff, ensured our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They accommodated our needs when we encountered issues of our Jr suite and upgraded us to a cottage with no additional cost which brought us closer to our families. The housekeeping services was so friendly and accommodating to maintain cleanliness, privacy & comfortableness. The staff was very friendly. Property had amazing views & nice access to the beach, close to all attractions & outside restaurants.

The original Jr Suite had many maintenance problems: door jam busted and loose with the door frame wood was broken into prior to our check in. Door knob on bathroom door loose and ready to fall off, which it did less than 24hrs after checking in. The sofa in Jr Suite was too small to accommodate my adult & teenager children. Paid for 3 adults & 1 child. Bugs entering our upgraded cottage each time we opened the doors to our patio. Blankets for the pull out sofa were itchy. Mattress for the pull out sofa was so uncomfortable- thin with stiff springs.

Closer beach access. Also we paid for the fire show and related dinner, but it was expensive and wasn't worth the money. One thing not the HGI's fault - traffic was horrible in the Wailua and Kapaa areas!!

I loved the location, the beach , the food at the tiki restaurant, & the hula dancers.

the hot tub & pool could have been warmer. the laundry was out of service

Rooms were clean and spacious. Food and drinks at dinner and breakfast was great. Scenery and grounds were great as well. Would definitely return under similar circumstances.

We had two rooms. They put us at first in two different buildings. One of our rooms air wasn't working so they called said it was fixed but it wasn't so then they had to move us to another room which was much closer together. Why not put us in that room to begin with to accomodate request? Probably because it was a little nicer room than the other (more spacious). Hideaway bed not comfortable at all.

Beautiful Property with many amenities located on the beach. Clean, excellent staff, tiki bar on the resort. The eastside location was a great midway point for travel to the South and North shores.

Breakfast Buffet was overpriced for what was offered and the quality of food was not the best. We found better breakfast food for the same price within a short drive.
