Kauai Coast Resort at the Beach Boy

We did not have meals here. The room was clean and comfortable. The grounds facilities were beautiful. It was in a great location where we could walk to the nearby Coconut Coast Shopping Center.

Had to go to the desk two separate times to ask for extra pillows. At check -in we were directed to a desk to talk to a very friendly staff who insisted we schedule a meeting the next day for timeshare opportunities. This was not appreciated and when we said we were not interested she immediately became very curt and almost demeaning. We were tired from our flight and we did not ask for this high pressure intrusion! Parking lot close to our room was usually crowded and hard to find a parking place.

Check-in and parking was easy. The hotel is right at the beach and our 2nd floor apartment was the third away from the ocean but had a good sea view and one could hear the waves (as well as chicken, as Kauai is the Garden and Chicken Island of Hawaii - they are simply everywhere). The big pool area was very nice and well-maintained. The appartment was sufficiently equipped for preparing and eating food in the apartment. The airport is not far but beware of the rush hour on workdays - in the morning to Lihue and in the afternoon from Lihue. All attractions are easy to reach by car and/or a bit of hiking but depening on traffic, you better plan a day trip if you are going all north (Tunnels Beach, etc.) or south (especially Waimea Canyon). The shopping center next door is convenient and supermarkets are not far away.

That we could not stay longer.

This was our second time staying at this resort, and it is now my favorite resort on the island. The size and layout of the two-bedroom units are awesome, each room has an amazing ocean view, and it's quiet. It was also great being able to walk over to the Coconut Marketplace and Napali Brewing, and grocery shopping at Safeway was a very short drive. We loved the pool, and the poolside bar had great drinks and food (my son loved their grilled cheese, so that is a bonus!). Lastly, the staff was very helpful, accommodating with our requests, and very quick to respond to text messages. Mahalo!

This is more of a suggestion and not a dislike, but having more hooks in the room to hang up bags, towels, and swimsuits would be nice. For example, the wall in front of the main door entrance could use a few hooks to hang up purses and beach bags. Then maybe hang a line in the bathroom for wet towels and swimsuits.

Condo is very spacious and comfortable. Kitchen is very well stocked. Bathroom is large and the washer/dryer is a bonus. We love being very close to the Island Market and the Coconut Marketplace. The pool is great.

We’re not night life people. We do early dinner and then we’re in for the night and we like to watch TV. We’ve been coming to Kaua’i for 24 years, so we don’t need to be out and about. Our complaint is that there is no guide channel on the TV. You have no idea what’s on TV. You have to flip through every channel to find something, and then you’ve missed the first 10 minutes or so because you had to go through all the channels before landing on this one. And the facility does not provide a list of the channels and their corresponding network. This is an item that they definitely need to work on.

A very nice resort. Our 1-bedroom condo looked like it had recently been updated. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a third floor unit with a nice view of the ocean and the garden area. This resort does not have an elevator, so you do have to carry your suitcases up stairs if you are on the second or third floors. It is close to most of the main attractions on Kauai and the airport. It is also adjacent to the Coconut Marketplace with restaurants, shops and one day a week there is also a farmer's market. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit.

I loved the comfortable clean room with a great view and 2 separate bedrooms. The full kitchen was well equipped to eat in. Close to a little marketplace for take-out meals and all kinds of shopping. Provided deck chairs ocean side were wonderful. I loved the landscaping and pool area. The torches at night were lovely. Staff were helpful.

I would have loved free breakfast! The coffee was fine but Hawaiin coffee would have been better.

The resort was conveniently walking distance from restaurants and stores. There were beaches north and south if you did not want to spend all day at the pool and pool bar. There are grills all over the resort if you wanted to grill and enjoy lunch/dinner outdoors and the villas were equipped with a full kitchen. Definitely would not mind returning.

The resort does not offer a shuttle service to/from the airport, and carshare (Lyft/Uber) and taxis were very difficult to find as there appears to only be 5 drivers for the entire island. If you want a ride anywhere, you would have to schedule your Lyft/Uber ahead and hope that they do not cancel.

The staff was excellent, and very accommodating, except for the "concierge" who totally lost interest in us after we showed no interest in a time share. The location (east side) was good for both north coast and south coast attractions, and had some great beaches

It took a couple nights to get the sleeping temperature right. The quilt was way too heavy and the blanket provided was not sized for the bed.

We liked having such a large unit and a washer/dryer. we also had a view of the ocean from our balcony. The beach it is on is not suitable for walking or laying on due to the rough nature of the sand. It is very picturesque and the grounds were well kept. the buildings are older but things were in good repair and clean.

There were no elevators but did not cause us a problem.

It is a very central location to drive around the island. There is a small marketplace nearby with tourist shops, a couple of restaurants, an ABC store, etc. The apartment was really spacious and comfortable. I love the fact that the 2-bedroom suite had also 2 bathrooms. It was very convenient to open our patio door and just walk to the beach at dawn to see the sunrise.

Parking seemed very limited and the spaces were a little tight. The room/bathroom wasn't super clean (we found long strands of black hair on the bed, the bathtub, and on a towel.
