Robert makes a delicious, simple breakfast and the location was literally five minutes away from the National park. This was the perfect spot for easy access to the volcano! The gardens are beautiful and my kids loved the chickens and the goose out back.

We got soaked during a rainy hike at the volcano. Our room came equipped with a drying rack for this very purpose (it rains a lot there!) but our clothes were still dripping wet after 24 hours. We had to find a dryer off-site to dry our clothes. Walls are thin, but we were warned of this in advance so I turned on my white noise app to minimize the sounds of other guests.

Great location right next to Volcano National Park, extremely comfortable beds, highly rate the lovely breakfast! Lots of information from the host on shopping and dinners, directions prior to the stay.

Booked for four through the app however only 3 were registered. Host didn’t receive messages confirming it was four people. Also, wasn’t sure how to lock the room until the second day when we saw the host and asked. Interconnected room wasn’t locked with other guests staying there.

Wonderful property - felt like such a home away from home getaway tucked into the jungle. The owner and his dog are so friendly! It was lovely to wake up to the birds chirping, and then to come out to the common area and see light breakfast snacks prepared. The rooms were nicely decorated and comfy as well. Most of all, the location was so convenient right outside Volcanoes National Park. We wish we could’ve stayed longer! Thank you Robert for a great stay.

Breakfast was fabulous !! Set-up very lovely and homey. Might be a good idea to have a microwave in the dining room to heat up meals. Host was terrific - very thoughtful and accomodating - we had to catch an early plane, so he made breakfast available early for us - The grounds are beautiful and loved all the patios. Common room was amazing - antiques and local art - The whle ,place was amazingly clean

My only issue was the walls seem very thin in the room I had - Could hear the person in next room coughing all night - As many people are visiting the volcano at night, make sure the lanterns are working - Make a "this is where stuff is "list - for example, where ice is, Have a more thourough list of nearby restaurants - Everything pretty much closes up very early, so it's nice to know your option if you arrive a bit later. This area of Volcano can be very wet and rainy - it would be great if there was something that took the dampness out of a room - ie - towels never dried completly - maybe a towel warmer ???

The atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. Robert was kind, caring and the very best of hosts. We had farm fresh eggs, toast, fluffy pancakes, all the spreads, fresh fruit, cereal, yoghurt, everything we needed and more to choose from for breakfast - all set up, ready and waiting for us each morning. Our room was equipped with a bathroom, TV and separate microwave and fridge, even had a balcony with rocking chair to sit on and enjoy the serenity of the garden. It only took us 5 minutes to get to the National Park - very handy for viewing and driving any time day or night.

After the last 1 1/2 years in Covid lock down our family looked forward to finally enjoy our first get out of town vacation. We weren’t disappointed finding Robert’s wonderful B&B for our 3 generation retreat. What a great host providing wonderful breakfasts and a location right in the shadow of the national park. Thank you for your hospitality.

The room was perfect for us with two queen beds. Robert was a great cook and made a delicious breakfast each morning we were there. We got spoiled having coffee ready when we got up in the morning. The location was super close to Volcano National Park and an easy drive to Hilo. We appreciated the dining suggestions from Robert and Susan. They were very well organized and made sure our visit was pleasurable. We had great fun chatting with the other guests.

We loved Aloha Junction! It is SO close to the national park, it is quiet and beautiful, the breakfast was delicious and the host was so nice! We didn't realize it would be chilly, so the extra blankets on the bed and the space heater were wonderful :-) We loved the rooster, goose and chickens in the morning but if you don't, choose a room other than the Peacock Room.

As with all of Hawaii, the restaurants in the area have...interesting hours....if you really want to eat somewhere, check ahead...and you may end up having to drive quite a ways to find something open.

The sweetest, kindest people run this bed and breakfast! Feels like you're at home. The breakfast was great because the other guests were talkative and friendly. You are a very short drive to the Volcano national park, which was perfect because we did the night hike to see the lava!

If you need silence to sleep then maybe get some ear plugs or another place with more sound proofing, the frogs (I think Coqui frogs) at night are very, very loud with the repetitive chirping. We aren't used to it, so it was a little hard for us, but that's nature!

Robert was an amazing host! He was always very helpful, kind and doing everything to keep is guests happy, including preparing tasty breakfast every day! The hotel is lovely with very nice, spacious rooms, all in all a beautiful family-run business!!

The location might in theory be the only drawback, since it has a certain distance from Kona (2hr drive), but on the other hand is directly next to the volcanoes (so you can start exploring the amazing national park right away and can go to see lava in the evening without having to drive -amazing, do it!!-). Also, it is very close to the Black Sand Beach (turtles!) and Papakolea Beach (one out of four green sand beaches in the world!) And also less than an hour from Hilo, so in the end the location is afterall very nice!
