well kept. plenty of options.

we have some mobility issues and our room was far from elevators.

The grounds are beautiful. The location is ideal for better weather. People were friendly and overall just a really pleasant place to stay!

You need to open up the former buffet-breakfast place off of the lagoon. You could easily do an all day affair there and people would love it. Heard that many times over. Why send them to the Marriott for better breakfast choices? Unless that isn't your competition. But really, besides a few towel machine malfunctions.... Just a beautiful place and reasonable rates. Parking fees should be capped at where you are at though.

the property was gorgeous, the tram and boat were very fun. highly recommend the boat at night for the ambience. the pools were really cool and the slides were fun.

it would be better if you ran the tram or boats for longer hours rather than both on limited hours. I know that staffing is short but not having a Buffett breakfast was disappointing. some of the resort fees don’t really cover things you would use. I would have preferred a cheaper shuttle to the queens or kings rather than free PlayStation 3 games and movie rentals.

I sent my son to the Hilton Waikaloa as a college grad gift, my husband I I were married there 23 years ago. My son had so much fun! His room was lovely and he really enjoyed his stay. I hope to actually come back with my husband on one of our anniversary’s… we shall see. Thank you to the staff for taking the time to give him a map for places to visit .

I wish you still had the bus to pick people up at the airport. Other then that it was a perfect stay!

Ocean tower rooms are supposed to be one of the oldest, but they are really not bad. We really liked all the activities offered at the resort, including cultural classes. Also saw lots of sea turtles, and of course dolphins.

Restaurants are pretty expensive, but food quality is good. During our stay, boats/gondolas are not in operation due to COVID. There was also no shuttle to the shopping mall, so it gets very difficult to go anywhere (pretty much the only option is to call a taxi multiple hours before hand). The resort is pretty big, and trams moves very slowly. If you are rushing somewhere, might miss it waiting for tram to move. Because resort is so big, staff can also get confused on what activities are available and where to find them etc.. The lagoon is the only beach with somewhat fine sand, and it’s still pretty coarse actually.

The choice of restaurants was good. The lagoon was EXCELLENT; you could swim, snorkel, and see many different fish species. There are Turles as well, which was one of the highlights of our trip. Next time we visit the big island, we will also stay here. Great place (multiple areas) to watch the sunset. They have various activities and swimming pools.

Transportation (monorail) can be more frequent. The $38.00 daily parking fee is excessive since access to the main building is a walk. There is a one-way charge of $5.00 to take you to the shopping mall within the village; it should be free and done on a 15-minute schedule. As expected, food/drinks are more expensive, but the quality is excellent.

Food very disappointing. To expensive. I went to local grocery store. My first night I order a past dish which was to salty and little seafood in it for 60 dollars plus tax and tip. So I decided I would not eat on property. Otherwise except for added parking fees and a lot of walking it is a nice hotel with supper comfortable bed and was very clean.

The hotel is in good shape although it looks like rooms are at various stages of renovation. We had a nice, super quiet ocean view room (golf course). The property is vast and you have a lot to do (pools, hot tub, lagoon with great snorkeling and turtles 🐢, dolphins 🐬) restaurants and pool bars. Prepare to walk a lot and also the parking is quite far - however there is a train 🚆 which comes fairly often. The sunsets around the lagoon are quite amazing and the grounds are well maintained. Also the lagoon boosts fairly good snorkeling with almost guaranteed sea turtle 🐢 spotting.

Parking is far & restaurants extremely overpriced for the quality they offer. Many things on the property are mostly closed (pool bar open in one area only, coffee shop open only a few hours a day. They don’t allow outside drinks and food but if you are at the Ocean tower you need to walk ways to get to a pool bar. A pool waitress would be nice. There is however a Market (Queens Marketplace) 5 min driving distance with breakfast, all sorts of deli food, drinks and a Starbucks. Foodwise you are better off if you leave the property: the pineapple in Hilo/Seafood bar and Grill in Kawaihae are pretty good.

Tram and very slow. unable to walk to a restaurant and not food really in premises other then Italian. No valet parking and lots was a long walk to get the vehicle. very inconvenient for as much as we paid to stay there.

The overall property location was spectacular.

only 2 jacuzzis and they were at the complete opposite side of the property from our room. Pool towels were only available at locations far from our our no general parking near our our side of the property
