Days Inn by Wyndham Maui Oceanfront

We loved the location, the room set up, the plantation shutters, connection to the outdoors. The beach was steps away which is great for going back and forth to your room. We loved the casual atmosphere. Front desk staff were attentive and helpful. Showers at the beach were great. The fridge and microwave offset the fact that there is currently no restaurant (pandemic related closure) on site. We took a city bus to Keihei and Wailea or walked. Highly recommend the pulled pork/cabbage at Moose McGiillicuddy. Bring a portable hammock for the awesome shady trees in the afternoon. Snorkeling is pretty good in the am, waves/wind kick up in the afternoon. Spectacular sunset watching with glass of wine and a chair from the front desk. Bring earplugs for the roosters..they start at 4am!!

Very minor thing is our air conditioner was loud…worked great but we had to turn it off to sleep and open the windows. then we heard the roosters at 0400 am:). Bring earplugs.

The property is walking distance from the beach. I am a walker/ runner and it was a blessing to do workout at the beach. There is also a sidewalk trail that you can use. The property is also in close vicinity to great sites to visit, shopping, and restaurants. Hotel guests were quiet. We had a corner room which was spacious. Liked how the makeup table/ desk was in a corner alcove in the room. If my husband was asleep while I was working at this space, I simply opened the bathroom door to shield the light. This feature made the room appear larger. We found the bathroom large enough and liked that the bathroom window opened. We had two windows in the bedroom and we would often open the window louvers to enjoy the sunshine. The hotel team members were all nice and helpful. We received a 20 percent discount on our entrees when we ate at the Palms restaurant next door by showing our hotel key.

My husband and I loved the value for this stay! We wanted to stay in this area, but we were not willing to pay the huge fees to stay at the resorts. This was the perfect place for us. The location was great and right on the water. Parking was included as well as beach towels and direct beach access. There are nearby shops and restaurants that are walkable or drivable from the property.

We don’t have any complaints! It definitely wasn’t a resort, so as long as you have realistic expectations I think anyone will be greatly satisfied with their stay here!!

Room and location - the rooms do run a bit small, but they are efficient. And you cannot beat the location. This hotel is RIGHT on the beach, and probably has one of nicest beach around. Even if you don't get an oceanview room, the beach is literally steps from any room door.

Payment method. This was our second stay here, and lovely as it is, we probably won't be back unless the payment method is improved. We stayed here last year and no problems using our debit credit card to pay for the room. This year, whoever checked us in refused to use the same card I used last year. When you run my debit car, the system literally says "Process as Credit or Debit". She refused to run it as "Credit" and we wasted a lot of time finding an alternate method. She kept asking if I could literally call a relative with a credit card to pay for the room. Seriously? This issue alone guarantees we won't be back.

first, the staff is amazing - evelyn and keisha... my credit card was not working (after a long flight) ; they said "take your time, and they offered to my son to take something from the fridge - on the house. They were so kind. The room , although a little bit small, very clean and cleaned carefully everyday. location in Kihei is really easy to go everywhere! also the hotel gives access to a very nice beach as well .

1 curtains in the shower... a box would be so much better 2- please, start accepting debit card/cash - this almost ruined my stay (thankfully everything went well)

its was nice and quiet, not a lot of families which is good and just what you need after a day of travelling, next to the beach too, so a win win situation

more than 1 dryer to wash /dry clothes, but that was being addressed

absolute beachfront location but privacy maintained (we were in first floor oceanfront suite). 24/7 reception was great - staff always friendly and helpful, a daily modest light breakfast was a much appreciated bonus! No restaurant/cafe on site, but very handy general store with basic hot food options next door (less than 5 mins walk away).

Wifi was free, but unsecured, so unable to use it other than for brief internet browsing - could not use it for work-related or business correspondence, so ended up paying a little extra privately to use another setup.

Loved how close it was to the beach maybe a 2 minute walk to the water from are hotel room door, absolutely beautiful view of the sunset!

Are headboard wasn’t fully glued to the wall so any outdoor vibrations causes it to vibrate which sounded like a mouse was in the walls (no mouse in the wall)!!! and the pillows were to stiff and puffy which lead to really sore ears and neck, and a bed that acted more like an air mattress when sitting or laying down. Also for the price we paid for a weeks stay the breakfast was disappointing would of expected a lot more options!

Oh my gosh , how I love this island. And my room was just beautiful. And a short little walk to that incredible ocean! After a few days there I’ve started planning my next trip ! I can’t thank everyone enough for all their kindness. So very friendly and welcoming . Thank you Olivia

I can honestly say I can’t think anything I disliked . It’s beautiful, very clean outside and inside . My room was great, real comfortable!

Fantastic location, and access to the beach, everything else was great. The room view was also amazing, especially at sunset, but we booked one of two oceanfront suites; the view from the other rooms may not be equally good. I would especially mention the very lovely plants and garden around the hotel, which are very well looked after. The hotel is a very short drive away from several other great beaches in Wailea. The staff was very helpful. I am sorry I cannot name any of them specifically but a big thanks to them all. After this, we stayed 4 days at one of the big hotels up the coast for a conference, and our Wyndham Maui Oceanfront experience beat that by a long mile in everything except room details (but this was to be expected given the price difference!). Wyndham Maui Oceanfront could well be one of the best places to stay in Maui. We would re-book it without hesitation if we were to come back to Maui.

On the slightly more critical side, I think your idea of offering a morning 'snack' is great but the execution could do with some refinement. The fruit was not always available even early in the morning, and the choice was otherwise very limited (how about some cereal and milk?). I think this could represent an excellent addition for the kind of customers who should be attracted to your hotel (who are precisely those who, like us, hate big places)
