Wailea Ekahi Village, a Destination by Hyatt Residence

Wonderful view, spacious, very clean, excellently appointed.

Despite the great view and perfectly clean condition of the unit, our enjoyment was diminished by the significant traffic noise from the main road directly behind the building. Had we known beforehand, we would have made every effort to chose a unit as far from the road as possible. Some may not be bothered but the nightly rate should reflect this.

Great price for the location. Most other resorts in Wailea were super expensive. This resort has multiple swimming pools dotted around, so you don't always need to go down to the main beachside pool. Huge, comfy bed. Useful having coded entry rather than keys - and especially good for check out. We were provided a slight complimentary extension to checkout time which was greatly appreciated. Staff were extremely responsive and you could request things (towels, coffee etc) by text which made life really easy. Washer/dryer provided (although see below as the machine in our unit was fairly old and may not be the only one not working well). Restaurants in this area were very expensive compared to other towns we visited, so factor that into your decision on where to stay. All in all, for the price and location, a great place.

Unit needed a bit of a refresh - the cupboard doors/walls were a little jaded and could use a splash of paint. There were a few tiny bugs in the bathroom each time you went in there, although the whole unit seemed clean. The tumble dryer was broken (staff did offer to send someone to look at it on the day I raised the issue, but it wasn't that urgent for us). TV/box were unfortunately awful - would work about 70% of the time but then other times it wouldn't connect, seemingly without reason. None of these I would consider deal breakers, but worth being aware of.

Our appartment was fully equiped like your house it was really incredible ... it was beyond our expectation (we even had some sun umbrellas and beach chairs). Very convenient to go to beach directly without crossing the road as for many others resorts in the area. The staff is super reactive and friendly : we had many requests and they always quickly adressed everything. The gardens are very nice. Location is great to get quick access to many nice beach and snorkeling spots.

pools are small except the one that is above the beach. Price are high but you are in Maui and you are in a nice spot of Maui...

The decor of this lovely poolside (beach beyond) condo was exceptional. We felt like we were using a friend's condo. The grounds were lush and full of walking opportunities. Golf courses were beautiful! The facility is very close to a chic shopping area as well as many restaurants. You could easily ditch the car and walk everywhere.

This may have been user error but the AC seemed to turn itself off during the night, despite our attemtps to lower the temperature. I tend to sleep better in very cold rooms so I had to sleep on the couch where it was a bit cooler. :(

Beautiful view of the ocean from this well maintained condo. Location was convenient to the beach, swimming pools on the property, local shops and to other towns and sites.

It's a little hard to find, the properties all look the same, especially at night. The TV did not work well in the main living area, reception was bad with a ghosted image. The TV likely needs to be replaced.

Excellent location and Condo location! Beautiful sunsets off the Lanai each night (in July). Quiet and private. I never met staff during my stay, all communication was via text. I had a bit of a frustrating experience checking in and what appeared to be a cancelled reservation by the company (discovered) mid-flight despite my confirmation in hand. Not sure what happened. I had to contact a friend via premium pay wifi on the flight to enlist their help to contact Reservations to confirm my stay had NoT been cancelled. They we transferred around, on hold and had to leave a message. There was no physical office to go to when I arrived to check in and I had to rely on the same number my Friend called which kept forwarding to voicemail. I wasn’t sent my check in information in advance of the 4pm check in and I was already concerned about the confusion over my reservations. There should always be someone to answer the phone. No late check out option either, which is rough when most flights leave in the afternoon or late evening back to the states. Mine left at 10:45pm. Cleaning service came once (which was fine for my liking) during our stay. I did receive an expected request to access the Condo via text to retrieve an item from the “owner’s closet” and I fully appreciate knowing and being asked prior to entry during my stay. Overall, the grounds are an array of floral beauty kept in excellent condition. Pools were in great condition. Condos are older (typical for most of Hawaii) my unit was nicely maintained. Most of the furniture was newer and tastefully tropical. One chair in the bedroom looked sorely out of play (old, outdated and mismatched to decor). Condo was well stocked with all the appliances and cookware possible needed. It was great stay and I would recommend the location to others and stay here again. Mahalo

The bed was too hard, made it difficult to sleep several nights. The disconnect between reservations, front desk, check in and getting a live person on the phone. Although, once connected they were very friendly.

We liked everything except the service from DRW Guest Experience Team. The Beach was wonderful. The location was great. The pool is awesome! The service we received from the DRW Guest Experience Team was not good. First we didn't get a clear explanation where is our studio located and who to call when we arrive there. It was not comfortable to drive around and search who we need to talk to. Second , we requested 2 extra bath towels and we didn't receive it in time. We got it one day prior leaving. Third, we asked to stay JUST 2 extra hours and leave at 1 pm instead of 11 am, because we had some personal reasons to do that. We got only one complimentary hour. Just one.

Direct access to the beach was great for our family. And each room was huge with lots of options to eat, read or drink outside on the lanai.

The walls and carpet could use an update. They're pretty worn but not really too bad. More BBQ grills on the property would have been very helpful.

What can be better than a week on the beach in Wailea/Kihei area. Grounds at Ekahi are beautiful, units are private and quiet. Only 2 floors, so you feel you're really in Hawaii, rather than the big hotels with loud courtyards. We like the pool and easy access to the beach.

I can't think of a thing to make it better.

The location was so beautiful. So close to the beach. The pool area was gorgeous. The staff was exceptional and attentive. It was so quiet. Our condo was so comfortable and perfect. We didn't want to leave!

There was a sign that asked us to leave our shoes off inside the condo, so we did. The floor was not clean and it made the bottoms of our feet dirty so we had to wear shoes inside. The kitchen could have been better equipped. For example, all of the knives were broken (the blades were coming out of the hilts).
