Hampton Inn Salina

We will defiantly stay at the Hampden Inn, Salina however we are going to request a room on the interior of the hotel. He were on the 3rd floor with the window street side and in line with the front of the hotel. Although a great view, it was fairly noisy (loud cars, racers) causing it to be noisy into the night. About 1p.m., it was silent and perfect. Thank you having quiet appliances in the room. Some hotels with refrigerators can be very loud. We walked into the room to find the TV remote had been cleaned and placed in a plastic protector, added pleasure.

Breakfast was good-

The front desk person was not friendly or nice. Unfortunately, she did not read our reservation which requested a bottom floor, nor did she know that we had a pet, which I indicated in the reservation. She never made eye contact with me. She was more interested in dancing to the music that was playing rather than being welcoming to her guests. Not staying here anymore.

The room has plenty of space for the whole family and was very clean. It was conveniently located next to lots of stores and restaurants and very easy to find. Our desk clerk, Payden, was super patient and even though she had a whole line of people needing stuff from her, she took it all in stride and never lost her cool or seemed overwhelmed. Breakfast was delicious.

No complaints.

Stayed here on a Wednesday night with a reservation made on-line. Total was $230 and returned the next Sunday with no reservation and paid $140.......... needless to say, I was very upset that I had been ripped off by the on-line price. I realize that the chains all have arrangements with these on-line rip-off artists, but this seems very excessive. I wish the chains would advise that the price would be cheaper if you went straight to the motel in question, or at least tout one 800 number for their chain. I have learned my lesson and will never use the on-line services again !!!!!!!!

Room was really clean; so were the facilities. Stayed on third floor close to elevator. Bed was very comfortable. Nice shower and bathroom arrangement. Breakfast was good. Maria at reception desk was very nice... friendly and professional. Dog friendly.

Pillows were a bit lumpy and pet fee was higher than typical.

The breakfast was phenomenal! There was a fresh, hot buffet breakfast; make-your-own waffles; a selection of bagels and bread which were safely packaged; an available toaster; three kinds of fresh fruit, individually wrapped; condiments such as peanut butter, syrup, butter, jam, and jelly; cereal, juice, milk, yogurt, and coffe bar; and a grab-and-go bagged breakfast. The front desk had iced tea and freshly baked chocalate chip cookies awaiting the weary traveler at check in! A staff member texted me shortly after check in to ask if I needed anything. There were adequate charging and USB ports at the beds and at the desk. There were plenty of individual hand wipes and toiletries in the bathroom. Service at the Hampton Inn Salina was outstanding. I'm happy that I drove a few miles off I-70 to stay here. It truly was worth it!

The staff was great and the facilities are clean. The room was very comfortable and clean. I didn’t have the breakfast but it looked really good. It’s close to a lot of nice places to eat.

It’s much further from I-70 than I thought but that’s my fault for not checking first. it was worth the five mile trek down another freeway.

We especially liked the step in shower. The bed was the best we had during our 7 nights on the road as was the hot breakfast!

We asked for a chair to be brought to our room which never happened. The one chair in our room was on rollers. My husband who has Parkinson’s issues has to have assistance when dressing; he kept rolling while I was helping with his shoes/socks. I had to insist he not sit in that chair again as it kept rolling almost out from under him. BTW/handicap rooms had all been taken.

It was nice to have breakfast available at the hotel. Convenient location. Comfortable beds, very nice towels.

The microwave hadn’t been cleaned after the last guest used it. There were still remains and odor of the pizza that was cooked.

Our room was spacious, When I got my shower I realized it had soft water, something we dont have at home and I loved it. Breakfast was amazing, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, biscuits and gravy. It was amazing!!

Would have like to have 4 pillows instead of 3. Husband did let me have 2 of them and he used 1. The two coffee packets in the room were decaf so I had to get regular. Really nothing that was that bothersome.
