Wingate by Wyndham Erlanger - Florence - Cincinnati South

Location was great. Staff was efficient in checking us in. We only stayed one night and had plans for breakfast the next day with family.

We asked for a King Size room. When we checked in at 6pm, the regular King rooms were not clean yet. ??? My first thought was that they were trying to put all of the guests on the first floor. We ended up in a Handicapped room which had a musky smell. The shower was designed for someone in a wheelchair and sprayed water across the bathroom if the shower head was not positioned just right. Was very awkward trying to take a shower.

The breakfast was filling and offered a variety of healthy and hearty options. When needing more forks, requesting them was easy and they didn't take long to provide them. The seating was well spread out and comfortable. The gym provided enough form and challenge for my typical lifting workout.

I didn't like that there were not clear instructions on the waffle iron and people left them to beep repeatedly when they were already finished cooking. The instructions on the lifting machine said to sit backwards on a surface that was like a 30 degree grade or worse, but I just sat forward and ignored the diagram after almost falling off the machine the other way.

Breakfast was as expected these days. Acceptable, but not really memorable. The coffee, though, was really great! And we are coffee lovers. We also enjoyed the fruit, cereal and milk. The grounds are great. The people were doing a good job, and the owner was present (good going, sir!) and took an interest in his people and their work. Great! Our room was clean and well tended by the maid. However knobs on the chest of drawers were falling off and needed a better attachment system. Bathroom was just fine, with good towels and water temperature and pressure are just wonderful.

Pool water temperature and air temperature were too cool to enjoy. Yes, it's winter so it's harder and more expensive to keep those things warm enough. Also the carpet in the hallways has some seams ripping. Repairs now will be much more cost-effective than replacing carpets later. A good carpet company can re-seam them easily and fast. Rather than reconstituted scrambled eggs (that's a guess, but they did not taste like fresh cooked), maybe just bail on eggs altogether, or use hard-boiled eggs. I know... It is HARD to make a good cost-effective breakfast for "the masses," without a grill and a cook and a bigger budget. Overall, this place did a pretty fine job!

The rooms were spacious enough for us. The breakfast was good. The pool was open and kids had a good time .

The rooms weren't as clean as I would like them but was ok. There was a rude lady standing in front of waffle maker making waffle after waffle. She had a stack of 8 waffles that she took back to her room then came back for more stuff. We waited around 20 mins to get to use waffle maker.. only thing the manager could say was she has done this several days in a row but I can't stop her. Would have been nice if he could have reminded her that there were others there that would like to participate breakfast too.

I arrived late and had a few issues...the king mattress was broke down on the side I was trying to sleep on so that was uncomfortable...it was really late so I just rolled over to the other side until morning to address. The bathroom sink and shower drain were both barely draining........HOWEVER, Before leaving the next morning I stopped at the front desk and let the kind lady know about the issues and what time I would be back that day. I was kindly called to be made aware everything was taken care of and when I returned everything would be great! I got back later that day and just as the lady said everything was fixed and comfy for that night!

I liked that breakfast was included. A bit more variety would have been nice. Variety of bagel flavors, cream cheese. Housekeeping did a wonderful job in both rooms. Because I did housekeeping for years, this is something that is very important to me. I had a small issue in our room and maintenance took care of it while we were still there. A very sweet gentleman, very kind and informative. I believe he was the manager.

Again, a bit more variety at the breakfast, it’s not that I didn’t like it, just my opinion. I wasn’t happy with how close we were to the highway, but after we were there a while, I realized we could hardly hear the traffic!! I thought it was a bit pricy for a hotel. 2 rooms, 2 nights, total of 3 people and it was almost $600.

Nice bathroom and towels. Cleaning staff pleasant. Nice washer/dryer —$2 each, 45-min dry. Good water pressure. Quiet location. Good parking.

1st fl hallway has very worn carpet—trip hazard. Bed was weirdly lumpy, crackly, and kind of hard, yet I slept pretty well. Indoor pool was very cold. Breakfast was standard. Pneumatic desk chair wouldn’t rise and was in low position (sitting on a pillow helped.)

We chose to stay here because it was a half hour from three different places we had planned on going to: the Newport Aquarium, King’s Island, and the Ark Encounter. The staff was friendly, the room was clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable. We visited during a heatwave, and though the air conditioning in the lobby had a hard time, the AC in the room did a great job of keeping us cool. The hot breakfast buffet was different each day, but there was a nice variety, and it was quite tasty.

This hotel seems to be under the flight pattern of a lot of air traffic from the Cincinnati airport. We heard a lot of jets taking off each morning. There was no coffee pot in the room. They compensated by offering free coffee throughout the day in the lobby. I’m not sure the brand of the coffee, but it was horrible. We ended up driving to the Speedway gas station nearby for coffee. There was no vent in the bathroom for steam, so that slowed us down a little in the mornings to let the steam dissipate.

I like the lobby, the parking lot was safe, everything was very clean. The beds were comfortable and the shower was exceptional; both warm enough and great water pressure. Often in hotels, you’re lucky to have one or the other. Good coffee in the lobby!

I wish it had a hot tub. My mom said the pool was very cold. My sister and I used the fitness center and it was outdated and one machine didn’t work. The breakfast could have had more variety.

I asked for extra pillows and blankets and received them right away to my room. Usually I get the response that they have to see if any is available. One staff member even went out of her way to look around the hotel supply rooms for some lotion for my daughter and brought it to our room. Very friendly staff. 😊

The pool area and the pool was too cold. I did ask at the front desk if they could turn up the heat on both and she sent the maintenance guy to do it. Unfortunately by the time he showed up we were ready to leave. We did try to wait around for it to get warmer but it was taking too long and we were cold. We went back later that day two more times and it was a little warmer but still not great. We did swim but only because our granddaughter was excited to go swimming. Honestly if we didn't have our granddaughter we would have skipped swimming. It was disappointing because that's one of the main reasons we stayed at this hotel.
