Room: Clean. Stunning views and a balcony. Rooms are a bit dated, as others have noted, but the bed was comfortable and you can request an additional cleaning service if needed. Property: Just gorgeous. There are plenty of chairs and games out on the lawn. A nice rocky beach can be accessed via a walking path, or you can sit out on the deck to watch the sunset. Very kind staff, as well. Parking and Wi-Fi: Easy and free. Location: Less than a 5-minute drive from the main Belfast waterfront area, with a ton of restaurants, markets, and local shopping. Lots of great little shops on their side of the river, too, including Perry's Nut House with must-try fudge. Very close in driving distance to local beaches and lakes. Quiet road as well, so you can peacefully enjoy the stars out on a clear night. Other: Free coffee and tea downstairs was very appreciated. There was a nice coffee machine with plenty of options (latte, hot chocolate, mocha, etc.). There was also a little area with gifts for purchase.

As other reviewers have noted, some breakfast food items included in the stay would be nice (on top of the coffee/tea bar). However, you can drive into the downtown area to get food.

This property was great! I would highly recommend. Every room is facing the bay and it has a sprawling lawn and private rocky beach. We really enjoyed our stay here as it had tons of area for the kids to run around and even some lawn games to play with. They had a pool, sauna, and hot tub too! They also had an espresso machine in the lobby that was nice. Belfast was a cute little town with lots of little shops and restaurants and nice harbor walk.

The walls were pretty thin and we could hear people walking down the hallways. Also we came prepared with breakfast to eat in our room since they don’t offer it and there’s nothing within walking distance except a Thai restaurant.

The front desk staff was very friendly and took care when confirming our late arrival. There was an issue with the transmission of our reservation from Booking.com to the motel; they discovered the issue and upgraded us to a room that would work for us. The view across their back lawn from the room's balcony was beautiful! The room was well furnished and very clean. Our trip was just for an evening, but I think a longer stay would have been very enjoyable.

The motel does not offer a complementary breakfast, which was a little surprising given that a continental breakfast is frequently provided by hotels that charge less per night. (They do offer a variety of chilled breakfast items that can be purchased and heated if desired and complementary coffee.).

Absolutely delightful area to stay in, the view really is as gorgeous and picturesque as you'd think! Room was exceptionally clean and modern. Wi-Fi was BLAZING fast, best hotel Wi-Fi I have ever seen hands down. 200 mbps up and down!! Staff was super friendly and the lack of a hot breakfast was not an issue at all. They have plenty of food items you can buy and microwave to eat when you're hungry. Also the best pool I've ever seen, the water was clean, and practically not chlorinated at all. I couldn't get the sauna to work, but it was an hour before they would close the pool so I just figured it was shut off already for the day, but a nice space all the same. They also had a cute little gift shop right by the check in area that I selected a few goods from to take home with me. Also, the beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept on in a hotel. Absolutely a great time, wish I could have stayed longer!

Sauna wasn't working ~1 Hour before pool closing time. Sad, but not a deal breaker by any means.

Facing the ocean, Pool, Big back yard, Value, Nice staff, room refrigerator, free coffee, I liked that the room did not get serviced every day since that is usually unnecessary - but we could still get supplies if needed using the order card.

Elevator smelled musty, like the carpet was cleaned but didn't fully dry out. Cornhole bags were left out in the rain and they were ruined (the corn swells up) and smelled rancid. I would have liked to know that the walk down to the water would be very wet and sloppy due to most likely rain that occurred before we arrived.

We were only at the property for one night and got in late. But the view from our room's little balcony, down the huge lawn to the water, was beautiful! Even though it was a foggy morning, we walked down to the water with complimentary coffee from the lobby. Would definitely recommend it.

Really minor, but it would be nice to have an alternative to the little creamer cups or dry white powder. I would think it would be actually cheaper to have a quart of milk in a fridge or on ice.

Indoor swimming pool was great for a rainy day with kids. The garden with games and access to the beach is amazing. We could bring our own dinner and eat it in the lounge with no issues. Very comfy beds. Loved the atmosphere.

I would have given a 10 if it wasn’t for the gardeners noise from 8.30am and the tubes noise from showers that you can hear from other rooms in the morning. Not my case but if you have a light sleep can be quite annoying.

I didn't realize that the rooms weren't checked each day ... mainly because if we knew the used towels weren't going to be taken, we would have hung them up and used them again. But it was probably spelled out somewhere and I just missed it. But that's minor.

This space is a gem. Everything was aged but clean, it added to the Belfast charm. It’s family owned and operated, the staff is very kind and understanding and the beds are very comfortable. The view from the back of the property down the hill is trimmed and chairs are placed up and down in locations from top to bottom. No restaurant or food onsite but there are an ample amount of snacks and soda and beers for purchase at the front desk. The real gem of this place is a woman by the name of Frances who works the front desk at night. She loves people and loves to tell stories of the Fireside Inn, she gives you flashlights for walking down to the water at night and lights up when she meets new people. She is kind, hard working, generous and always has a smile. She literally made our entire trip, I would stay at Fireside Inn just to see her again. Make sure you say hello to her if you stop in this Belfast Gem.

Upon check in...the lady was sitting their knitting....not directly interacting ...she was training it looked like...but was very rude acting when I asked her if I could possibly have a portable fan in my room. She stated "No!"very aggressivly...her people skills sucked- also no towels delivered on my 3rd day..no liners for trash...and the sink was leaking water on bathroom floor...I told them upon check out....beautiful view...but I'm surely checking out another hotel when I return to Searsport.
