Rockland Harbor Hotel

From beginning to end, this was an exceptional stay. Staff are warm, inviting, professional, friendly, and helpful. They all seem to love their jobs. The property is very clean, a measure of the pride staff has for the facility and their work. The daily food offerings are excellent and bountiful, and the setup is pleasant and cozy. Again, cleanliness is a huge factor. The location was perfect for everything on our schedule. Our need for assisted access was well met. And, the view from our room was wonderful. I cannot say enough about the Rockland Harbor Hotel. All this and reasonably priced as well!

The room was clean and comfortable, with a small balcony and view to the harbor. AC worked well. Plenty of hot water in the shower. Breakfast was great - lots of choice and variety. Staff was very friendly and eager to help. It was my sister’s birthday and they left a gift bag in the room for her with candy and treats, a lovely gesture. Great location close to downtown.

Just a few minor things. AC could be a little loud, but never enough to disturb my sleep. The exhaust blew hot air onto the balcony where the chairs were, unfortunately making it impossible to sit out there.

The staff were great right from the start, easy and fast check in and they explained everything I could possibly need to know. The room was clean, spacious and had a great view of the harbor. The balcony was a very nice added feature, giving us a little outdoor space to sit out on and look out at the water. Plenty of shopping and good very close by, walking distance or a 5 minute drive to anything you could need. Would highly recommend if you are staying in the area, no better place around.

There was not much to dislike about the hotel. If i had any complaints it would be about rockland traffic/people. On weekends there are always people walking around the streets and it makes getting in and out of the hotel a bit complicated at times but certainly not the fault of the hotel at all. I'd 100% recommend that you stay here if you are going to be in the area!

All hotel rooms face the harbor, so we had a great view from the 5th floor. Very friendly staff is always a good start to a hotel stay, and this staff was very accommodating and personable. This is an older property, but it's obvious that it has received a lot of TLC over the years. Breakfast food variety, hot and cold, was included. Botanical toiletries were very much appreciated. Lots of free, convenient parking available. We walked to nearby restaurants both nights, and my favorite place was the building that housed the Puffin Project, sponsored by Audubon.

It's always nice to have a night light in the bathroom. Room heater was somewhat finicky, and it had to be set on a high temp to turn on, and then it would turn off after several minutes. Not too terribly cold now (late October), so it wasn't a major, and I did not mention it to management.

Breakfast was good. Room was large with plenty of space to stretch out. Furnishings were cleAn a comfortable. Staff was incredibly friendly with valuable recommendations on restaurants and directions for heading out of Rockland on Saturday morning since the Lobster Festival parade had streets closed off

No central air, hallways get very hot from sunlight and window units in room could not keep a steady temp Carpets in room could be updated

Room was a good size, clean and nice view of the harbour. Good location for walking around the general area. When we checked out, I joked (just in passing, not complaining) that it sounded like the folks in the room above us were having some kind of gymnastics party all evening, what with all the jumping and thumping, but that they did quiet down by the time we went to bed. The lady checking us out gave us a generous discount, explaining it was because of the noise - and we hadn't even hinted about any discount! Wow, unexpected, but very appreciated! Thank-you!

wondering choices were made for the renovation. exceeded my expectations, given I thought it was a motel. lots of plugs for all of your electronics. we requested and got a corner upper floor room which had a wonderful r view of the harbor from both windows. the balcony was great for pictures and drinks while enjoying the scenery. the staff was friendly. breakfast has lots of fresh bagels, and hot omelets and scrambled eggs, as well as, sauces and bacon, which I didn’t expect. also had Tazo teas, which was a bonus.

there isn’t much. i wish their breakfast utensils/jams/etc. were more sustainable, like compostable utensils.

Hotel structure is clearly a 1970's "motel style" development, but has been nicely refurbished with new carpets & beds. Remodelled bathroom. Internet connection excellent. Plant tubs & entrance area furnishings make it feel more upmarket. The best breakfast choice we have experienced in motels along the coast from Oguncuit - but could do with some raisin bran adding to the cereal choices.

Ground floor carpets are looking grubby due to high traffic. Corridors at back of hotel are overheated in the sun. Air conditioning barely copes and perhaps the windows could be opened to freshen up the air in the upstairs corridors.

The location was perfect. I was on a no-car trip, spent some days at Vinalhaven, walked off the ferry just across the street from the hotel. Rockland is a great little town too, and the hotel is at one end of the Main Street with restaurants and shopping. The staff was ver friendly and helpful, the breakfast buffet surprisingly good, and there’s a great outdoor seating area with a fire pit. I’ll be back

The hotel is located directly at the harbor and is perfect for everyone heading to the islands, taking a vacation in Rockland, or just wanting to stop by. They have a free breakfast offering, a useful fitness center and practical and good rooms with seaside views. The hotel is not newly renovated but is in good shape. The hotel staff was super friendly.

All has been good. This is a stellar place. Nothing to criticize in my opinion.
