The Porches Inn at Mass MoCA

The room was comfortable, as was the bed. I loved the fact that the entire place reminded me of the Wild West. Breakfast was boxed up and the offerings were good.

I did not realize before we arrived that there was a heated pool available for use at this time of year. I would have taken advantage of that. I prefer to stay in places that have local color rather than a hotel. The Porches fit the bill.

Breakfast was better than the typical "continental" style breakfast. The breakfast room was lovely and sunny. Room decor was outstanding and original.

Honestly, the coffee was not good. I think the water in the area is just odd tasting and that impacted the coffee. We both thought the coffee was undrinkable. We ended up getting coffee at Tunnel City at MassMoCA and it was excellent.

The inn preserves the historic feel of the working class site that it once was while incorporating modern conveniences. The location is perfect for touring the area, especially MassMoca directly across the street. The inn includes a substantial breakfast with the stay. Literal porches encourage relaxing outside to enjoy breakfast and a beverage.

The Porches Inn has the perfect location if you intend to go to Mass MOCA. It is also close to the town center and a number of restaurants. The room itself was very comfortable and the pool and hot tub were great amenities. It was a gorgeous warmish Fall day and my partner and I made use of the hot tub and pool. The breakfast is extended continental breakfast which works for us, especially if you have large breakfasts at other location on you trip. It also struck me as a great place for a small conference as built a beautiful small rehearsal hall on site.

Ask for a room in the middle or backside of the units as the road in front is busy.

The property and staff were amazing. We (2 sisters) had a great weekend. We didn't use the pool, but could see people there having a great time.

I was initially shocked with the location. We came for Mass Moca and logistically was perfect. However, be aware that the town is an old industrial town with run down appearance. That was my ignorance. The people were wonderful.

The hotel has potential, though not quite there yet. The proximity to town and Mass MoCA is perfect. The rooms are uniquely decorated in a “shabby Chic” decor, and quite comfortable. The staff were all very nice, and quite hospitable. The woman who checked us in was also the bartender, which all operated from the same reception area.

The continental breakfast could have been a little more creative. We were offered a verity of breads for toasting, yogurt, granola, apples and bananas. The property, though charming, needs some attention, especially the porches. The floors and stairs can be uneven…. Not for the non-sure footed… used the back doors.

Everything was wonderful! The booking didn’t include our pet but the staff was able to accommodate us and I’m so grateful. The room was so charming and we felt very welcome. The building that allowed dogs was a little dusty/less clean but with Covid and everything it is understandable. But overall everything was really great!

The building we stayed in was not super clean but it was fine especially considering it was the pet friendly building and Covid has reduced the cleaning throughout the property. It was also a bit noisy with the busy road but that wasn’t really a problem—we live in the city so are used to noise!

A must when visiting the MassMoca on the other side of the road. Lovely room full of local antique and curiosities, very cosy room with all facilities. Breakfast was very good, nice selection of Vermont cheeses too! The swimming pool looked very inviting and it's heated. Short path to a gazebo above the Porches was lovely in the Fall!

Very nice place which is well kept. Love the dog-loving policies, it's what brought us to your inn. The weekend breakfast was very nice and the weekday was adequate.

Can't think of anything except the bars of hand soap in the bathroom. They smell like old lady perfume from the 80's or 90's.

comfy bed, large modern bathroom, nice continental breakfast, pretty landscaping, easy to bring out my dog and give him a walk, great location for exploring North Adams area

as a conservationist it would have been great to: 1) have the option of using the same towels each day and 2) turn down the water flow in the shower head
