The Autumn Inn

The staff was exceedingly friendly and their personal service made us feel very welcome. They assigned the perfect room for my wife, me and our seven year old son. Every request was fulfilled with a smile. The property and room were amazingly clean. The parking lot even seemed to have been newly covered. The location is very convenient to downtown Bennington with easy access. If we had time to stay longer we would have. We will definitely stay there the next time we're in the area.

The room could be updated but the price, convenience, and customer service outweighed that.

Coffee in room. No breakfast and none expected. Diners nearby. Very very clean, comfortable, fluffy towels, plenty of hot water and good water pressure for shower. Very polite and friendly owners who appeared to live on site. Two queen beds in room ( we were only two people).Excellent value . WiFi available in room. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Very quiet, good location.

Nothing. This was a fine place for us.

Our room seemed to have been recently renovated; it looked like the room originally had 2 double beds but now has 1 king, so it was very spacious. The bathroom was very up-to-date with new tile, vanity, paint, etc. The microwave and fridge were solid and worked well

Nothing. For a little motel at a reasonable price, it was great.

My partner and I stayed here for a long weekend to attend a wedding. I am a very light sleeper and brought my white noise machine but I didn’t even need to use it. Even though they seemed to be fully booked I couldn’t hear any other guests at all. The room is of course pretty bare bones and furnishings and decor were a bit retro (it’s a motel after all) but it was very clean and the in-unit A/C kept the room a comfortable temp. The owners take as many COVID precautions as any place in NYC, where we live (even disinfecting the pens at the front desk) which was reassuring to us as we were a bit anxious about traveling at this time. We found the owners to be absolutely delightful, they were very friendly to us and sought us out several times during our stay to ask if we needed anything. Location was good, easy walking distance of downtown Bennington and within driving distance of many attractions.

The free WiFi was a bit slow/spotty at times. I imagine this had something to do with the number of guests at the hotel (fully booked as I mentioned, it was Williams homecoming weekend). Wasn’t a big deal for us, but it probably wouldn’t have been great for working on a laptop. There’s always the library or coffee shops downtown, though.

I just don't understand the negative reviews. For what they charge, this place is a fantastic value. It is clean, staff are friendly and the rooms, while dated, are fine. Yes, I would be disappointed if I was paying $129 per night here, but I'm not.

Rooms can get very hot, but the front desk explained how to turn down the heat. This is an older property, so the rooms do appear dated and have been refurbished multiple times. However, the rooms are clean and well maintained.

The room although old & dated was absolutely spotless! The beds were very comfortable.

Because motel is old, it has a stale smell when you first open the door. However, this smell disappears once the air conditioner has been turned on

It was very comfortable and clean. Older fixtures and furniture but kept up exceptionally well. The owners are very friendly accommodating.

The hair dryer didn't work and the room had a strange odor when the door was first opened but it disappeared

The property is well maintained and quiet. It is located well for getting to local attractions. It’s also in a very walkable neighborhood. The greeting was warm and pleasant. The room was well appointed. An effort was made to make electrical outlets easily accessible; something that’s become important as we travel with devices!

Comfortable, clean, and quiet room with microwave and refrigerator. Good wifi, and friendly, helpful staff . Convenient location for our needs we like being able to park outside our door

We had no complaints and have stayed here before and will be coming back next time we are in the area.

We were hiking Vermont's Long Trail and the location was very convenient to the trailhead on route 9 which is about 4 miles to the east. The owner will take you there for a small fee letting you keep your car at the hotel. Regarding the room itself, the beds were very comfortable. The room was clean and the wifi worked well.

There really isn't much too dislike. This is an older motel but the owner/manager, Preet is doing a great job updating the rooms with new carpeting, tvs etc
