I have stayed here before over the past 15 years. Love the small quaint cabin feeling of this hotel. The owners wether past or present seem to carry the same ethos.

We tried to call directly to the hotel and could not speak with anyone. This is the first time booking a small hotel with bookings and was not sure if the room was available or what the number was. The room number was obscure on the Bookings email and didn’t specify the door would be open with the key inside.

We arrived after the front office closed. Thankfully, they had called in advance to let us know the after hours protocol. We also appreciated the quiet location and quaint details, like the outdoor set for each room. The room itself was clean and comfortable. We spent most of our time at Sleeping Bear, but ate breakfast in town. The lodge was so close to main street and all the shops!

The shower was a small shower stall, so we both were banging our elbows on the sides. Also, we thought the price was high for what we got.

This is a very quaint, clean and comfortable 1950's motel. The price was reasonable. Reminded me of traveling with my parents when I was a kid. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.

This is not a dislike, but something prospective guests should know. As stated in my above review this is a 1950;s motel. It was built long before any ADA regulations and so it's design is grandfathered in. Therefore if you are a larger than average person or have some physical challenges the rooms may not accomidate you.

Nice little place in a decent location for getting around the area. We stayed in one bedroom cottage. It was clean and had everything we needed. Would stay again. Only issue is noted in other section of review.

We stayed in the cottage. The sofa bed was terrible. Basically a frame with springs. Had to just sleep on the couch which was ok since only one person. If needed to accommodate two people it would have been a problem. I would not stay there if needed accommodations for 3-4.

Everything was great! I’d reccomend to anyone looking for a clean safe place to stay.

There was nothing I disliked, however I recommend smart tv’s in the future. We would have liked to log into some of our streaming accounts.

Location, location, location - close in to city - easy walk through city to Lake Michigan. Small block and half walk to beautiful Lake Betsie with park and benches and then along water into delightful city. The hotel manager, Melissa, was very friendly and welcoming. She has worked there over fifteen years and gave us helpful suggestions about touring in the area. Head of Housekeeping was also friendly. Very good wi-fi. We were in a recently renovated room and the bed was comfortable. Although a renovated 50's style motel, the description and photos on Booking were accurate and we knew what to expect about limitations on such a structure. The location on the edge of residential neighborhood was safe and large grocery store is located very close by. Ample parking.

We knew what to expect based upon the Booking description. As an old motel, the rooms are not as big as even newer economy chain hotels but serve the purpose of a clean, safe place to sleep and tour the beautiful surrounding area.

The very hard-work I ng woman in the office was so kind and helpful!!! She allowed us to check in early. 🙂 I loved the quaint, cottage feel. The vintage door on the bathroom, the beautiful comfy bed with Laura Ashley bedding. We had everything we need!!

Road construction, at no fault of the hotel, made it difficult to locate the entrance. Our room was quiet, but the location at the back of the property did not feel especially safe. Walking through the neighbor's cigarette smoke as he watched us open our room door was a bit daunting, enough to position a chair in front of the door inside. It was by far the most expensive room we stayed during our one week vacation! There is a great need for economy lodging.

The staff was very friendly. The location was great. Everything was within walking distance to restaurants and shops, and also enjoyed walking to the park at the lake just a couple of blocks away and down the street to lake Michigan just a few more blocks. Very convenient. Enjoyed the short drive to Betsie lighthouse and beach.

it was very basic, but very clean and a great location, within walking distance of downtown shopping and restaurants. And they have real coffee! All they need is creamer in the fridge. Melissa the property manager was very nice.

It seems a bit overpriced for what is basically a courtyard motel, but it is a good location in a resort town. Also they could use better soap.

Location was great for us. Everything we wanted was within a 10-15 minute walk, and we walked everywhere which made us feel a little less guilty eating the great food at the local restaurants.

The room was a bit older, and little small, but for 2 it wasn’t a big deal at all. We didn’t vacation to sit inside the entire time!
