Best Western Plus The Charles Hotel

The breakfast was good, with many choices and ended at 10am on the weekend, which is pretty late for a hotel breakfast. However, if you went after 9:30, it was slim pickins and they were not refilling anything and many things were out. Our room was clean and quiet. It was in a great location with a Denny's and a Texas Roadhouse across the parking lot. There was a gas station right next door also, and was right off the highway. The pool is a decent size and is indoors. There were not any problems while we were there and the area outside the hotel was good and felt safe.

The rooms are dated and need some refreshing. The beds were fairly comfortable, but not the best. The water pressure for the shower was pretty crappy, and had to turn the shower head to the massage setting to get decent water pressure. After 9:30am, the staff was not refilling any of the breakfast items so many things were out, even though breakfast didn't end until 10am. Housekeeping came while we were out and emptied the trash & gave us new towels, but did not make the beds.

It was right off the highway and surrounded by restaurants and stores so it made it easy to grab dinner and shop a bit for things we needed during our stay. The staff was really professional and kind. Given 4 rugby teams checked in right after us and after 10 minutes of my kids in the pool we had to leave and go to our rooms because they crowded us out, the staff was apologetic for the noise and the situation. Everybody wants to relax and have fun, we get that, it was just a real bummer for the kids. We did squeeze some late night swimming in to make up for it to the kids though. Breakfast was really great as well.

Not the properties fault at all, we weren’t able to utilize the patio because of the crowd out there drinking and blaring music, the kids felt a bit out of place and not being able to enjoy the pool when we got there because of the large group of 20+ adults that come in. But again, we got the pool at 9pm for a bit, patio was still filled and we couldn’t go out there but the staff was really apologetic.

At first sight everything was clean or so I thought, I dropped my Pandora bracelet on the floor in the bathroom trying to take it off, when I reached to grab my charms off the floor I noticed there was PEE all down there under the toilet, thick& yellow housekeeping needs to be supervised, I didn't file a complaint because aside from that everything was perfect I just kept an eye out for anything else

We liked the location, pool and the breakfast was good! We got there a little early and was able to check in. Check in was quick and the lady was pleasant. Room was ok but could be a little cleaner, nothing was gross but their was some old candy on the floor next to the bed and some stains on the sheets but I could tell they were washed. Pool was decent as well for the kiddos. Best part for my whole family was breakfast and the lady running it. She’s a absolute gem and we loved how hospitable and sweet she was to my kids. I believe her name was Sue. She made my kids feel more comfortable and at ease with our travel and being in a new place and the food was good! I felt like it was a decent price for our stay as well.

Could do a little extra with cleaning and checking to make sure theirs nothing left behind from previous people.

Staff was nice.

I thought most everything was ok. But.. the two chairs in the room were disgustingly dirty. The carpet was not too clean either. The stool was so low for us over 65. But with that the sheets/bed were clean. The shower and sink were clean. The staff always provided us with what we asked for. Just for your sake please replace the chairs and maybe some new carpet would approve the appearance of the room.

Location was good for our needs. Floors were kept clean/ carpet in main floor hallway. Laundry available.

We had to request towels. No one asked if we needed anything for our room, which would of been polite since we had a long stay. Possibly because of Covid. At check in told we would have to request for sheets and change our own beds. Which was only asked for once because of change of family member. One night staff was not nice because we asked for more towels at pool…more people came in. Set his bad mood for evening. Also when asked for a cot it was too large for the room. Looked at another room on 3rd floor but that floor smelled uncleaned. So we declined the move and just stayed on first floor which was clean and made due. That night the service gentlemen was nice. Mostly staff was nice just a couple weren’t.

The facility decor was nice. The breakfast was very nice - good variety, flavor and ambiance. The day manager explained the reason for the toilet issue.

The toilet was VERY low and a struggle for our old knees. The night clerk must have assumed we were returning guests because he gave no directions to the elevator, and he made me feel stupid because I didn't notice it behind me and around the corner. Not appreciated!

I was passing by so can’t say this was the only room available and bit pricy too pricy for the stay but i had to take a stop and door are lock which is good at night and can be opened with room key but I have bags and the guy was just staring for 5 mins like a moron I had to knock the door to say hello I have a check in he was asking were was my key

enjoyed hot breakfast, extra treats in lobby (cookies, capuccino machine, water). room was very comfortable and enjoyed having jacuzzi in room. definitely enjoyed being on ground floor didn't have to deal with elevator

wish the shower would have had better water pressure and tub was bit slippery but otherwise everything was great

Jena- took great care of us when special need through booking was not accomplished despite 7 month prior registration!! She made our day and the ensuing stay excellent.

For the price, nothing much really. Some facility cleanliness could improve.
